Ive been watching many many of your videos, and this one has been outstanding with so many pictures to look at while the orator describes them. Not always the case with every presentation. Thank you!
It’s interesting to see how Poussin used antiquity to refresh his art. Some of the issues in the paintings with drapery and nudity seem to have resonance in the social media of today. A lovely talk and a fascinating insight into Poussin’s methods.
Thanks for an outstanding overview of the show. Poussin's paintings always require close looking, and it's a pleasure to have such a cogent and accessible introduction to this lovely early work.
I'm a first-year Art History student, and I found this very interesting and helpful. Thank you

Wonderful talk. Took part in an exhibition Re:presenting Poussin at the Whitworth Art Gallery 25 years ago.
Great talk.
Many large galleries but few works of art--gorgeous that way!
We found this over dinner tv watching,it's inserting that we may want to try doing sketches from old masters

I'm desperate to catch this exhibition before the 2nd .....great lecture as well
The first room, with the vase, is like walking into a dance studio. Wooden floors, space, wall space left due to small paintings.
An interesting curiosity to be found in the painting A Dance to the Music of Time is the painter's finger prints in the paint.
“Squidgy” is a really good word for putti
Thank you so much! I’d like to know if he painted more centaurs besides those in the Triumph of Bacchus?
i notice expression. and maybe pattern.
