She was trying to hard to not be too excited… my daughter was just like that. Now she is 24 and married and reminds me of all those times we had fun and I thought she was totally bored ! Your a great dad
Looked great on the truck double gas caps, rabbit ears really cool! After your daughter mocked up OEM tank, Bates style solo, and mini apes! Really cool chopper!!! You are passing down the “eye” for it! Love it! For the things they don’t teach at school you’re killing it! Really a joy to watch! What’s funny is HD’s and Triumphs have a timelessness about them cool 60 years ago and 60 years from now!!! They’ll never go out of style!!!
My first bike was a speed twin 500. It was a rolling basket case with 2 milk crates of parts and a crappy shop manual. I didn't know righty tighty, lefty loosy, suck squeeze bang blow or anything else. That machine taught me how to wrench. I love old British iron!
Words from an old man: 50 years ago I bought a box of motorcycle parts. The manual in the box of parts was for a 1964 Triumph t120 Bonneville 650. I put it together in my university dorm room. I love that "Great Iron Steed". I saw your Daughter's "Great Iron Steed" finished at the show on Shadetree Surgeon's Channel. Seeing it gave me much joy! I loved the sound of that 650cc engine! To me their is no better sounding engine.
My favorite gifts were the Evil Knievel stunt cycle and the next year was the helicopter whirly bird. It had a controller with kind of of flexible wire to pick up things. So cool to to do this for your daughter. I want both of my toys back!
I am mos def(I don't talk like that) gonna enjoy watching you two build this older thumper. My first Triumph was a '68 T100c that I chopped in Bagdad Az back in '70. I will always regret selling that one. So here's the rub. If your daughter ever decided she didn't want it anymore for whatever reason, you buy it and store it, cause one day she will want it big time. This'll be fun to watch. At least she has a mentor, all I had were 3 Whitworth Combination wrenches.
Jared, love this video. You not only provided educational informaton about the different tanks, seats and parts involved. but it was wonderfully enteratining. Many years from now Ade will be telling stories about the first motorcycle she built with her dad.
I nominate you for cool dad of the year Jared! Man, I'm just sitting here dumbfounded. To do this for and with your daughter is just over the top. Everything I know about motorcycles I had to learn on my own. To buy and build that bike with her is everlasting! I guess my favorite Christmas gift was a GI Joe soldier when they first came out in the 60's. I still have him and the next Christmas was the GI Joe Green Beret soldier. I still have them both and their footlocker loaded with their gear. Great video and fantastic gift for your daughter. Keep wrenching and riding and stay safe down there in Tampa!
Jared, you had one more seat, the one on the bike in the back. 😉 But I da agree with your daughter when it comes to the tank, it just looks right on there. A really Merry Christmas to you and yours.
She's gonna be the coolest new rider on the streets of Florida. If I was the DMV person administering the test, and she rolled up on a custom pink 1970 Triumph twin... I'd pass her on the spot. No skills test needed, this girl knows what she's doing. : ) Id vote for the stock tank too... she's got good taste. I think she might like the seat better once it's got the springs is is mounted on the frame.
Totally awesome, built my chopper my senior year of highschool with my pops. Now that I've relocated from Colorado to Tampa hopefully someday I will see y'all riding around together, and hopefully my wife will be on her cb500 that I gifted to her and we got to build together. Nothing like building a bike with the ones you love, keep it up and see ya ears up rubber down.
Who wouldn't love this? I LOVE 💕 THIS!!! My favorite Christmas present was my first 2- wheeler. Barely big enough to ride. Took it out and rode it in the snow That was in the fifties. I still ride my 2-wheelers in the snow today.
18:29 Best present for me it’s this video it reminds me of when my daughter got her License through the MSF course and I went out and bought us both can am spyders.
The front half of my 1965 Triumph TR6 is all stock. The back half isn't. I have a bolt on hardtail with a cylindrical oil tank as well as the Harley toolbox on the one side and the Harley big twin flip style fender with the tombstone tail light. It has a solo seat with Springs which makes it very comfortable. You sit on the seat and you stretch your hands out in front of you and the drag bar is right there. That's one of the things that makes it so comfortable. I have the old style fishtail pipes and the bike sounds great. I think it is 4 in longer than stock. After the hurricane I kicked the Rock and it turns out to be a concentric carburetor. Hardtails rule shock absorbers drool. I love how with a hardtail you just point the bike and the back end follows They Ride like they are on Rails. And they are very gentle on change because they do not stretch them bouncing up and down. You set the chain tension and it's there. Whatever happened with your Terrier or Cub project that you had?
Ahh the realization that ones passion is purely personal. My sons growing up watching me do all the things i did with motorcycles, trucks, cars etc affirmed to them what exactly they did NOT want to be doing when they grew up. Neither of them ride or have any interest in fixing things. Not what i imagined .
Me and my brother-in-law when I was about 10 years old made my first minibike. We got all the parts from the world of ruttman In Plymouth Michigan. I was the only kid in school that had a minibike. It was awesome ! I love your channel. Because I own a Triumph. It’s always about Harley Davidson. It’s time for a change.👍
Very Cool 😎 She picked what I did but first tank was a good choice also .. Can’t wait to watch the build you do so many good things .. I met and talked to you at Both Bornfree 12 and 13 and that was a Honor hope your there next year too ..
My father got me and my brother for Christmas at 1971 onto 50 mini Trail still have it today in the process of restoring it I rebuild a carburetor and first kick it started up and over 30 years there will never be a price tag on that bike it’s priceless to me it’s something that my father he gave to me and my brother and we still love it today
40 plus years ago I taught women how to ride a motorcycle on my Triumph TR6. It's low seat height gave them lots of confidence as well as its lightweight. It did not intimidate them at all including kick starting the motorcycle. One girl used to joke that her bike and her boyfriend was the same she had to kick him before she could ride him. Hahaha. I lost touch with them over the years but I'll imagine that they still ride.
None of my daughters wanted anything to do with bikes. I bought my grandson a nice bike and he doesn't ride it. Your lucky your daughter shares your love of motorcycles. And the hard tail should keep her speed down and pretty close to home. Can't wait to see the finished bike.
I love how many parts you have. It’s great to see the process and to introduce your daughter to it. I’m curious to see what might change during the build.
Merry Christmas Jared & Co! Seriously, what an awesome gift to share with your daughter! You are blessing your family in ways they will never forget ;) I am flying solo in Phoenix this year for Christmas. My best Christmas ever is the ones I get to spend with my family. Period! Hands down.
Favorite gift is cash! Show me the money! LOL! Kidding I really don't remember having a favorite gift. I grew up building things with my dad, so I think what you are doing is really great! I turned out alright and I am sure your kids will too! I am an old guy now and did very well in life so far. I still hope God gives me a lot more time here, I have so much more to do. Take care and God bless you all! Love what you are doing!
Very cool build man. Excited for this one. Trying to get my 10 year old daughter to ride with me. I think this is gonna be the year. She rides a scooter now, wanna teach her to ride a real bike.
@@weemsmotorco I have 14&15 year old boys. I keep suggesting a motorcycle project with them and so far it hasn't fired them up. SMH, I'd have been jumping at that opportunity with my dad. But then again I had years of experience riding old enduros by then.
Got to get the bars on tho whatever she chooses need to look up bars and have her look at choppers that may spark something she sees that she really wants to twist in her build
I sure hope you don't cut the frame. I have a bolt on hardtail on my TR6 I hope you do that to the 500. Or you can buy a hardtail frame for the 500. British bikes are cool and triumphs are the coolest ones of all.
Interesting thing is that I just discovered your channel today and have been watching some videos. That bike use to belong to my father. He was going to fix it up it was really messed up when he got it. Originally the guy we got it from tried to make his own hardtail and ran the chain through the frame...... so we picked up this hardtail section at the swap meet in webster and the guy was like yeah its a good section got home and it was bent. So my dad tried to fix it the best he could and after that it just sat in the shop. I met nigel at a car meet and got to talking. Ended up selling him the triumph, a FXR, a sportster and a bunch of parts. I'm glad to see it going somewhere well
Very cool! On the Downlow….this bike will be featured on a episode of the new American Chopper: The Next Chapter show on Netflix! My daughter did a great job building it and I am super proud of her!
Very cool video, i so remember when my daughter was that age, wish she could be with me for Christmas she is stationed out of state in the US Air Force. My favorite Christmas present growing up was a brand new YZ 80 motorcycle.... the first year any guesses on the year? Merry Christmas everyone
Right on brotherman...hope your sunshine is allways SAFE on the beautiful gift. , you Big DADDY made for her & never sells it...that would be one BIG BUMMER..👍💝😉⛄🎅

Shit I was like that when I took my chopper for its first ride, trying to look tough with a grin from ear to ear on my face.
The original Green machine...I wore the front wheel off doing 360s ....Best Christmas present ever
You are legendary in her eyes. She will cherish you and the bike forever. Way to go super dad.
As a dad with a teen daughter this build has me excited. She is an adorable young lady.

my best Christmas present. 1974 CD 360. My Grandpa gave it to me in 1989. I still have it. I hope to have my son riding it soon.

I really like that seat with the pillion
I'm looking forward to watching the father/daughter progress on the bike. Merry Christmas Weems family.
Jared, Merry Christmas to you and your whole family. I really like all the options you two picked. Triumph tank looks great, bars and seat, too.
That's awesome! Should be a great first bike! Nice and easy to whip around
You are an awesome dad. Merry Christmas and all the best in 2023.
Love this... the happiness flew through the screen to me! Merry Christmas!
That girl has great taste!
Merry Christmas !

Got to get the bars on tho whatever she chooses need to look up bars and have her look at choppers that may spark something she sees that she really wants to twist in her build

Put the springs under that last seat and raise it up a little it'll be aesthetically better

Very true

But the pile of stock Parts in the guy's driveway had a stock frame. Did that come extra with the bike? Curious what did you pay for everything?
Awesome
A Beagle puppy when I was about 8 y.o. in the 60's
It looks like she needs a good pair of riding jeans. It looks like those pants were already in a motorcycle accident
great choice of tank seat and bars
have her look at, hate to say it, the old solo seat that harley ran on their rigids....
Haven’t seen the entire video, but it seems to me she’d prefer rear suspension and the stock seat
