+Susie Stewart you can replace the part as shown in the video without supporting the engine. The mount you are replacing does not hold the engine up. It helps resist the motion of the engine rocking backwards and forwards as the gas pedal is depressed. The mount directly underneath the one replaced in the video does require additional support to replaced it. Happy Motoring!
I bought this part at Auto parts warehouse last week for $22.00, and I just installed right now. I needed a breaker bar to get the 18 mm sockets off, but I sprayed WD 40 in advance on the bolts, but I got confused which side is the right side to mount because there is no real distinction, so I noticed the top of the torque mount has a longer piece of metal on it that goes on the top not the bottom according to this video. I have worked or cars a lot past 20 years here and there, and I notices with a half inch wrench the bolts did not want to come off easily, so I think they bolts should be tight, but I don't know the foot pounds would be nice took 5 minutes and no lifting the engine thank God Good luck all you tubers.
Thanks for letting me know how your job went! Glad this video was able to help! I will be sure to update the video description and add a torque spec! Happy Motoring!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I was told i needed to get them all replaced, but it's only the top one that's broken, so now I can do it myself (and save a few hundred $)

About 3 Minutes 13 seconds WTF Menikie. Its going to take me longer to set up the jack and get my tools out than to fix both mounts All the parts on Amazon $54. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE VIDEO!!

I just spent a couple of hundred dollars and 7 hours at a garage trying to figure out what was causing a rattling noise when going over rough road (which in New York City is 90% of all road). Of course...after replacing sway arms, strut mounts, doing the brakes because why not while you're in there...we realized it was after cracked motor mount. jeez I wish I saw this video before this morning.
Hi Deej, I am sorry to hear about your added expense and time spent on your car. It can be challenging to locate a noise in your car. Next time, ask a the shop that you are taking your car too if they have "Chasis Ears" It is a device that has sensors that act as listen devices, you can place them in various locations and test drive the vehicle to find the approximate area of the noise and diagnose from there. Happy Motoring!
+RevitAuto thanks! I'm wondering if the shop I went to is not quite up to par...it's been difficult to do anything since I've moved to NYC and had to keep my car on the street.
Wow that’s amazing! Thank you so much! I desperately need to change mine because the engine shakes sooo much! Was shown by a salesperson that it’s easy!
There are two of these. This one, on top and easy to swap, is one. The second one is on the bottom of the engine. I decided to just replace the top , easy, one & skip the lower one, underneath the engine that is difficult to remove. Well, my new upper one did not live 8 months when it tore. If you are considering this, take it to an Asian car shop where they can replace both. Peace.
@@juankroosfrausto7411 usually the lower one wears before the top and that puts all the torque on the top meaning that if your top is bad you can almost guarantee the lower is also bad.

Awesome... car failed inspection for this part. Shop quoted me $174 to fix it... got the part for $17 and outside of it being in the teens outside.... EASY fix.
Was looking in my engine and seen the top passenger side engine mount was broken. This seems easy enough only 2 bolts. I assume that this top engine mount just stabilizes the engine when it accelerates and does not hold much weight. I think this might fix my excessive vibration problem in my versa when I accelerate, thanks.
Shalom (peace) hey on tha old part there was a round piece on tha front i believe called a mount damper, what is that for cause mine just broke off? Plus i noticed on tha new part you replaced it with didn't have it.
I just got a Nissan Versa 2012, and I was told by dealer $300.00, but I can replace myself if don't have to lift or support motor except comment below stated don't have to support motor what about when replacing top motor mount not torque motor mount.

I like your video. My car has the same exact broken mount. I have the part. Your video doesn't show or specify if I need to jack up the car and have a wood block under the engine. Do I need to do that? Or can I just do it the way your video shows?
Did your part come with the counter weight? Mine came with one and a jam nut, which came loose within a week. I found it roadside and replaced it using thread lock and jam nut. It has stayed in place long enough for me to have to do the job again. The first replacement lasted four years. Good video.
If you are talking about the nub of rubber and a threaded rod, mine did not. And I do not know the purpose of it. That's cool you were able to find yours! I thought maybe it was for alignment of the bushings while pressing them in.
I definitely need to replace the torque mount. But I'm wondering if the issue I'm currently having is a result of the worn out mount. Currently, my car's engine shakes when idling in drive or when I take off from idling at a light. In neutral, the shaking is less apparent. Where would be the best place to get the part?
You can order it offline at a lower cost, or go to advance auto and order online to get 20 to 25 percent off!
so how many mounts are there completely
Austin Valdez, please clarify your question.
did you use oem or after market?
In this video it was a part from Napa Auto Parts, we have used genuine OEM parts as well.
