      No way. He is not an employee people. His steel company exploit his employee. There's one point where he required his employees to work 364 days a year and only time to rest was for 4th of July

    That was interesting! Carnegie really believed that the pursuit of liberty, freedom and happiness extends to all people, not just Americans.

    Check a book by Stephen Kinzer called "True Flag". Canergie - to my surprise - was an anti-imperialist. The reason the US interfered in Cuba or Philipines wasn't exactly "human rights" but more a "white man's burden" thing. Check the lectures by Kinzer here or get his books!

    And that caused the Phillipine-American war when he bought the Philippines right?

      The Philippine-American conflict arose with the signing of the Treaty of Paris, when Spain agreed to relinquish possession of the Philippines to the U.S. for $20 million. Carnegie was against the treaty and offered to pay the same $20 million to dissuade the U.S. from occupying the Philippines and leave the island alone free of any foreign control.
