I would like very much. Thank you
Thank you.
So kind of you, thank you very much.
I will be making these this coming week! We need the Arne and Carlos cooking show, including a cookbook. 😊
xoxo's Sandie
Thank you! I’ve been looking online for those little tart pans for the Sanbakkels. If other people are looking and having trouble finding them, they are called egg tart mold pans.
I haven't laughed this hard in decades. But that ends today. Carlos, I'm so glad you're all right, but that was a classic moment. Arne's laughing and laughing, that did my heart & soul so much good. Then Freja starts barking off-camera.
I'd given up on moments like this.
😂😍
Molasses is one of my favorite cookie flavors. Pairing with cinnamon to make what I would call biscotti is something I will have to try. The more molasses, the better!
This was hysterical.. made me laugh so hard as well. Arne's laughing made it even better. So glad you are ok of course.
I don't know why that "fire incident" is so funny but I have watched it 4 times and I am laughing so much!
I would choose to watch Arne and Carlos bake cookies over professionals any day. Your politeness to each other is a reminder to us all of how to treat each other and never take a loved one for granted. Your willingness to be "young at heart" is priceless entertainment. Thanks for sharing your Christmas traditions, new and old, with us.
Arne, you won my heart forever when you stepped off camera with the mixer attachment to sample the dough! 😊♥️
Knowing that Carlos was okay, I especially enjoyed Arne’s laughing reaction.
I’m really sorry but I just had to rewind and watch Matchesgate three times. I’ve also had to pause the recording until I can stop laughing and catch my breathe. Glad you are OK Carlos however that was hysterical. The tears are streaming down my cheeks as I type and thank you for not editing it out.
You are so very welcome!!!
I watched the scene minimun 20 times. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I totally did the same as you Susan lol
I had to rewind because I was listening at work. Priceless!
@@willow9526 I don’t think I’m finished watching it just yet 😄😄
Best ever podcast....
Carlos....I felt so sorry for you...I'm glad you have Arne next to you . You guys are amazing .
Thank you for making us happy .🥰🥰💞💞💞💞💞🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
😍😀
LOVE the laughter. Good for the soul.
If you ever have to dry your sifter in a hurry again, pop it into your oven for a minute. You've already got your oven going to get it ready for baking. Just keep an eye on it. It won't take long to be completely dry.
Thank you for sharing your baking adventures with us!
Thank you for that great tip!
"Arne, knit slower." "Arne, cut the cookies faster." 😀 I can't wait for the new "Cinderella's Nuts" movie.
I love Arne giggles!! In USA we say, “In the bag”!
In the UK too.
Oh my gosh, Arne’s laugh was so funny when Carlos put the match back in the box. Great memories for Christmas. Can’t wait to see the other cookies they make. I love making cookies for Christmas and trying new ones every year. ❤️🎄🍪
🍪😍
😂😂😂😂
I agree, his laugh is wonderful!
Love this video, all the baking tips should make baking these recipes a real success first time.
What a lovely edition to share baking Christmas cookies on the Sunday's of Advent. My Mother is the granddaughter of Norwegian immigrants on both sides, so her parents were born in the Northern plains states in the US, but their customs were very much from the old country, as they called it. They often had relatives visit from Norway (farms near Stavanger and Tronheim) and the older people still spoke Norwegian at home. When I grew up, Mom made 14 kinds of Christmas cookies every year. It was a baking marathon during Advent, though not just on Sundays! She stored them in tins in the basement which was cool, as you recommend. We made Sanbakkels, as we called them, which look very much like your sankake, made in the same metal tins in the same way. Seeing your video really put me in the spirit to make some of my Mom's cookies this year. (Mom is 92 and in good health, but cannot see well, so she no longer bakes, but all her daughter's do it in her stead.) Thank you again for this episode!! GodJul!!
What a lovely story. Thank you for sharing it.
Arne's laugh!! Just what I needed today. Carlos, I'm so glad you are okay. As always a wonderful show.
Thank you!❤
I felt like I was st a rock concert, with the balls of flame!
The match thing has made me laugh until I cried, and I've rewatched it several times! THANK YOU! A good laugh is as soul-cleansing as a good cry.
Oh my gosh, the matchbox explosion, too funny! I don’t know if I can stop laughing! 🤣 Every time I light a candle I’m going to lose it!!! 😂
Arne’s mischievous laughter and cheek! 🤣😂 … I am glad NO ONE got hurt!
Everyone is fine!
Hope, love, joy and peace
Thank you Deborah!❤
I always helped Gramma with the julekaker. While we shaped the dough, she kept the unshaped dough chilled by floating the bowl in another bowl of water and ice cubes. Worked really well.
I'm so glad you carried on filming through the explosion. It wouldn't have been half as good if we hadn't seen things going wrong. And Arne's facial expressions to camera when Carlos isn't looking are priceless xxxx
Crying with laughter within minutes. Arne’s laugh is just so infectious.
😂
Oh dear Carlos you are the Firestarter!!! I couldn't help but giggle as soon as Arne did 🥰🥰
You two are such a treasure. Each episode spreads love and joy and kindness, old world wisdom as well as teaching new things. My list could go on and on. I’m so glad I discovered you during COVID and that I’ve been able to journey through it with both of you. Thank you so much for EVERYTHING that you do for us!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for watching and listening!
Never ever cut out the laughter. Heres to countdown to Christmas 🍷.
Stay safe guys. 🎄
Those cookies look amazing and will definitely be added to our Christmas trays this year. Thanks for the recipes! A little trick I learned from my mom when using those little tins is to use another tin and press the down on top of the tin with the dough in it to get a nice even cookie. You’ll need to either butter or flour the top tin so that it doesn’t stick. I inherited all of my mom’s tins, so I have what I need to make your wonderful cookies!
I am so impressed with how the dogs have trained you to say "Moose, Moose" when they bark :>) The matches was hysterical, you always make me laugh...
They are impressive 😍
When I hear a dog barking, I say "moose, moose". First, my husband didn' t understand, but now we both are laughing each time, by hearing dogs barking. 😀😀😀🐕🐩🐶
🤭
I'm glad you're okay Carlos. Arnie you finally contained your giggles
Kitchen should be relaxing, music , a little dancing while you bake…love you guys, you both make me laugh.
Agree! Leave the hurried stressed baking to competition shows.
I laughed so hard, I cried! Carlos…your jump of surprise. Arne….your gut busting laugh. Loved it!
Laughter is the best medicine...... and so infectious. Thanks for the days entertainment. Great cookie recipes as well.
I actually had to rewind this and watch it a few times. I'm so glad Carlos didn't burn himself. Dont do that. We love you guys and want you to be safe.❤
Love how utterly real and down to earth you both are. Arne your laugh is infectious but I really lost it when the dogs started to bark right on cue. 💗
I love learning new expressions, and "in the box" is a great one. I must say you both started the Advent season off "with a bang"! Literally. What was funnier still was seeing Arne "losing it" (another expression) in the background. Seeing him laugh uncontrollably was just hilarious.🤣
What a wonderful episode. So full of cheer and promise for the future condensed in the simple act of baking. So full of joy. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes and traditions with us. Learning to bake different types of Christmas cookies was something I had always wanted to learn. The rule of the 7 types of Norwegian cookies "in the box" is going to make this Christmas particularly special. 💖⛄🎄
My wife enjoy all your videos,,,but this was a gem. Love that you don't edit out the moments that don't go to plan.
My Norwegian grandmother always called the Sunbuckles. I make them nearly every year, they are my favorite!
You two are delightful and although the fire was hilarious … when Carlos called Arne “Honey,” my heart exploded. You two have the best relationship ever!!! Love you both!
Thank you!❤
Whoa, at first glance I thought that was the moon in your kitchen window! 🌝
Yes please 🎄… for your grandmothers gothic recipes would love to see them
Always such a pleasure watching you two cook and bake!
Treasures of RUclips. Joy and laughter, you are certainly bring out the Christmas Joy. Thank you both. :)
You both bring me joy. Thank you.
You two are a joy to watch. TY
Thank you both for sharing your cookies making. You gave me the best laugh ever. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely adore watching you bake together. It’s wonderful! I’ve been catching up on your advents since i had surgery last week. Such a perfect way to spend my recovery! Thank you both!
Ok, I never laughed so hard. And now I understand why everyone wanted Carlos to use candle lighter and no more matches. Arne got the giggles, and I giggled with him. Arne had me crying. Then Freya barking. This video was so much fun, even though I've been rewatching your older videos. I like to watch them over and over.
LOVED THIS 'Everyday life' in the kitchen and all memories. Especially those great cookie smiles 😁
My favorite episode! Lol!
So glad you can have fun and laugh. I ve come back to watch the cookies bakes!
What fun! Thank you for leaving in all the bloopers. I’ll repeat what I said in the Prym Livestream, Arne & Carlos are the new holiday tradition in our household. Thank you for that! 🎄🥰
You two are so hilarious in the kitchen. Always a good laugh
Thank you both for making our lives a little brighter :)
Thank you, this was so wonderful and brought back so many memories of making cookies with my family, the cookies are different but the laughs are the same. I look forward to trying a couple of these translated recipes this year! My husband watched with me and found you both charming.
Say hi to your husband, and happy baking!
Two Christmases ago my husband got me a scale so that I could make European recipes. Metric is very accurate and universal. Do not fear using it! Thank you, Arne and Carlos, for the recipes :)
I’ve laughed so much this morning in the cold snowy UK X
I loved watching this! It reminds me of our family's dear Mrs. Paulson, a lovely Norwegian widow who took care of us in the 1960s when my parents were out of town. She was born in 1889. I have her cookie tins for "Sandbakkel" cookies. Her recipe included cardamom. I haven't made them for years, but now I'm excited to wash the tins and get them prepared for some lovely Christmas baking in her honor. She died in 1981, but she was ever-so-proud of her Norwegian heritage! She grew up on a farm in western Minnesota with no electricity or modern conveniences, of course; she was absolutely amazed that in her lifetime she witnessed the moon landing. All the best to you as you celebrate this special time of year. I'm grateful to you for giving me inspiration for making cookies!
Interesting....my Gramma's family name is Paulson and she grew up in western Minnesota and married and settled in eastern SD. She's probably a distant relative. 😀
Wow that fire was scary for a moment, but Arne’s laughter was so contagious 😀. Glad you’re okay Carlos. Great cooking episode and you guys are so much fun to watch. Thanks for bringing good vibes to this holiday season 🎄🎅🏼🤶🏼.
Thank you so much 💕.
You are welcome!
Carlos, I love your humor and Arne' s reactions !!!
When Carlos had the explosion and Arne began to laugh, we also had to laugh so hard and a lot. And when we saw, that Arne' s back was shaking of laughing, while he lightened up the 5 candles in the backgroud, we were shaking of laughing, too. We were laughing tears over tears. We couldn' t stop. Sorry Carlos, but you are now the reason, when I light up the candles and laugh again and again. 🤣🤣🤣
Carlos, a thousand thanks to you, you know, laughing makes people happy. And this time we need laughing !!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄😀🎄
🤣🤣🤣
I look forward to spending time with with you and your community. My mom and grandmother made fruitcake about the middle of November. Every day they checked it and usually added Rum until the cake was squishy. Then, it was ready for Christmas.
Sometimes I make cookie dough in the summer and freeze it. In December, the cookies were ready for baking and decorating.
I grew up on a Air Force base in the USA, we were taught the metric system in school, time was done in 24 hour format, and we used day/month/year format. For me, it is easy to do the conversions in baking.
Utter chaos, but what a start to Christmas. Classic
Oh! Please be careful, so glad you are alright. I had to watch again . I love watching both of you . Thank you ❤️ 🕯
This time has come quickly. This is my second year enjoying this series with you. I wasn't expecting the fireworks on the first episode.
Neither were we!
Oh my 🙆🏼♀️the little fire had me laughing out loud once more - I just want to thank you for opening up your home for the up coming Holiday 😄
I find my self smiling and feeling more happy sense I found you both on you tube🥰
Thank you so much for sharing your Christmas Cookie traditions! So fun to see what other countries bake.
15:44 bookmark.Heres a fire 🔥 story for you.A few years ago I was helping my friend clean out her packrat FILs house as he had died.He also had a small still and made moonshine.Truckloads of vintage clothes and assorted goodies that they didn't want to deal with.So I'm sorting all this stuff and theres one large mason jar of clear liquid.I didn't open it and kept sorting. All the cardboard and paper and burnables I couldn't use went on a brush pile. That fall I lit the brush pile, burned it mostly to just coals and ash and went in the house.I was looking out the window and down the bank where the burnpile was was this perfect column of blue flame about 20 feet tall like a jet engine. It was biblical.I guess it was moonshine in the jar and the lid popped vs exploding and spraying shrapnel everywhere. It burned for a long time!🤣♥️🇨🇦🔥
Or maybe it was kerosene. I think that's blue when it goes up. Usually it's clear but very light yellow though.
@@bdavis7801 Whatever it was it was majestic and awe inspiring.😁🔥
That was fun.
Thank you!❤
Thank you, sweet men. I'm glad you're ok Carlos after the initial shock.
Take care.
You as well!

You as well!
Great episode. Funny, real and totally Christmas baking.
I love your cooking and baking videos! Thank you for sharing your humor and joy!
Thank you again for making me laugh 😂. Glad you're okay Carlos! You are like two naughty kids in the kitchen! Your cookies turned out fabulously. So glad for you. I will start my Christmas baking tomorrow! Thanks for the inspiration!
What wonderful start to Advent. Brill. xx
Now I'm hungry for cookies - those look delicious!
Can’t wait to try these
We hope you like them!
OMG the fire! I'm so glad you are ok. I love watching you guys in the kitchen.
We called the tart cookies, sanbakkels (not sure of the spelling). I made them every year with my Norwegian Grandma along with rosettes and fattigmanbakkels, krumkake, and others I've forgotten about. Thanks for the memories!
You are welcome!
Cookie shell game. 😊❤️🎄
Just when I was thinking about skipping the cookie baking this year, here you are changing my mind. My grandfather was from Norway so I was raised knowing a respectable Norwegian household offers at least 7 kinds of cookies. I have tried to pass this tradition on to my grandchildren.
Hilarity!
I need this joy!
😀🎄
It’s Monday and I have you to keep me company while making my sugar cookie dough. I’ve even lit my candle💕. Yes a cup of tea and Christmas on TV would be lovely. Stay cozy 🤶🏻
Thank you for the recipe for the brown sticks! We will add them to this year's lineup, after the pepperkakkor and the lefse. My husband and I enjoy watching your videos together. His great-grandmother came from Sweden to the United States in the 1870's, and was an indentured worker at a fancy resort hotel in Minnesota. She fell in love with a carpenter who worked at the hotel, and he bought out her indenture and married her. In that funny way that childhood events are so clear in memory, my husband remembers one of his cousins asking their great-grandma if there was supposed to be something in the sandbakkels, and she answered that rich people put jam in there.
Thank you for such a fantastic advent of episodes. I LOVE the cooking episodes. They are so fun and special and may seem chaotic to you but pure enjoyment for us (except almost setting yourself on fire, Carlos 😳) Thanks for all your effort and sharing yourselves with us ❤️
Yum! It all went well, no trip to hospital! Thank you for sharing!
Candles and Carlos! A new Advent tradition? So happy you are OK! 🧯🔥🧯
So are we!
OMGosh, I laughed so hard! Thank you both so much...life would be so much less fun without you! Hugs for now 💖
I am really looking forward to making these cookies! Thank you so much for sharing these recipes! I love being part of the Arne and Carlos family!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
A wonderful laugh! So glad you are okay, Carlos! Chaos in the kitchen for sure.....
Really enjoyed watching! I’ll see you next week for more fun and baking! So relaxing watching!,
Thank you for a long awaited belly laugh. Arnie in the background trying so hard not to laugh. Love you guys 🤣😂🥲❤️❤️❤️
😂😍😍
I can't get enough of your baking videos. Arne's laughter was a true bonus to today's episode. Carlos, you were good to keep your composure. Some glad you were not injured!
I love your kitchen decor. Such fun watching you bake.
O you two! Arne’s laugh! You crack me up! 3:10…like a mad scientist!
