I remember walking into The Central pub / bar in Newquay, Cornwall, in 1997. The place was empty because it was late afternoon. There was a DJ just setting up for the evening and blasting some tunes, and he went for it with this. It sounded incredible on the very powerful sound system they had.
Always loved this tune. So uplifting, stonking vocal, one of the great soulful house records from that era. Faultless.

This may actually surprise a lot of people but.. this is my very first time hearing this. I've been aware of it's existence since '97 but hadn't actually heard it. That said.. Jocelyn Brown is one of those deeply soulful vocalists few would dare to attempt to improve upon. Fewer still have any hope of accomplishing it. I gotta say... MICHELLE WEEKS stepped up to the plate and KNOCKED IT OUTTA THE PARK! Superbly realized by Bobby D'ambrosio's inventive production and brilliant keyboard & vocal arrangements by Shawn Lucas.. it truly captures the exuberant energy and positive vibe from which the song was created. Now, if they can only get the credits right (the actual composers are myself, Leroy Burgess and my cousin, Sonny T. Davenport.. my brother James Calloway did not participate on this one). Still... AN AMAZING, ASTOUNDING WORK! (Had these old bones creakin' at 5 in the morning!) Leroy Burgess 13/12/15 (or 12/13/15 in the US)
