I have actually found that with an ebike my bike fitness jumped considerably upwards being able to go further, higher and longer and even lost a bit of weight. The Wilier Cento 1 Hybrid has a flat bar version for those who maybe can't do drops e.g. through injury or age :). The 105 group set model offers a Ritchey flat bar.
Watching and reading articles from all the big cycling advocate channels, it seems they go round giving "best awards" to several of the big players in the industry. One day the best bike is brand A, then the very next day the best bike becomes brand B (claimed by a different channel). Its like Specialized and Cannondale both claiming to have the fastest bike in the industry. In marketing, it is a comfortable reassurance manufacturers portray to loyal customers to continue to win their hearts. The fact of the matter is, there is no single best bicycle in any discipline.
ebikes can only be cheating if you're trying to hide something surely, like in a race. Unless of course you believe that any cycling should only be about suffering

That's 4 reviews and the manufacturers website I have read / watched, and still no idea what the maximum tyre size is for that frame !

i love my ebike (for commuting) but i dont really see the point in top end ebikes
fadenseiden for people who want to go ride all day or climb hills and not just commute?
