- Answering a question that I get often regarding getting a better quality sound from a midi controller on a budget. @FocusriteTV @SSLvideos @AkaiProVideo @sweetwater
it's a loaded question with lots of variables. You can get a lot of plugin sauce for the money. If I were going for a general "better sound quality" in Maschine (software) I'd start with a bus compressor, and a quality tape plugin.. Followed by a mastering suite type of plugin. All of this goes on your master channel/mix bus so it will effectively affect every sound in your beat/mix! Learning how to process individual sounds is another thing as well. I think you were on the right track with your answer about preamps/mixers. Recording things through analog is a legit step up in quality. But the preamps built into audio interfaces and budget mixers aren't anything special. They're "stock" and generally they are good and clean, nothing wrong with that but the mojo comes from outboard preamps not built in ones. Also "mojo" comes in many flavors. Punchy/aggressive, Warm/smooth, Distorted/bite, Creamy/Mellow. etc etc So picking your outboard requires plenty of research for the sound you hope to get from it. Your SSL & Clarette aren't exactly budget. They are High Quality & Clean AF from what I've researched. So even Clean/Transparent is a desirable sound if that's what you're going for and there's levels to that as well.. I gotta stop there cause I'm just walking into the water of outboard processors. I hope that helps. (PS Cool to see you on here I recognized you from IG) Keep it up & keep growing! 🌱🌱 Peace & Blessings!

So glad you started your YT channel. Love your work.🎉
I appreciate your stance on keeping a positive attitude! I'm pretty new to production so there's a whole lot I'm still tryna learn. I think of it as my own personal journey/adventure! Is that a MPC Live II?
It is your personal journey 🙌🏽 and you will soon realize or you may have already realized that music production is a never ending learning experience. That's what makes it so fun.
Reece this Slink miller! You just helped me out greatly! Frfr i appreciate this fa sho
Slink I use the MPC X now but I used Maschine for ten years. Definitely use the tape saturation plugin that comes with Maschine in the effects section. It fattens things up. The tube effect as well. Try each one to see what sounds best. And they’re free!!!💪🏾
Thanks sis was very helpful!!! 😎😎😎😎
Cool beans….🔥💯😎👍🏾
Ayye Sis, this is a dope video!!. Love it!. 🙏🏽💯
Thank you so much 🤗
BEAT FIRE!!!!!!
Your video came across my rec section and I found it very helpful, thumbs up BTW. One question, I see you're using the MPC Live in standalone with your DAW, is the DAW slave to the MPC? if so I love this tip and i'mma try it.
I'm so glad that you found this video helpful. I usually use the Live in stand alone mainly when I'm stemming my tracks into my DAW. But most of the time I use it in Controller mode.
