I have a 2022 SS 1LE with manual trans. Fantastic car. I wear gloves when driving so I don’t touch the suede wheel and shifter. Trying to keep those nice for the long term. I do not subscribe to onstar. I’ve lived without it this long, I don’t need it now.
Glass guy evaluated and said it was too late. So now it’s spread a bit but barely into the visible part of the windshield. We’ll have a new windshield installed this summer.
I have the same exact car, a 21 though. It’s not my daily driver though, so I only have 4600 miles on it right now. When I first got it I would stress over the little stuff like rock chips and stuff, but I’m slowly accepting the fact that it’s going to happen. The only things I’ve done to the car is RotoFab intake and Corsa exhaust with x-pipe. I thought it sounded good stock, but the Corsa is 🔥🔥🔥! I also added side skirts and rock guards too, because like you said, the tires pick up every little pebble…
Thanks for sharing. A year of use is a good time to reflect on how well you like your car or truck. Thanks also for the tip on the on star. Like a bozo I started with the on star when I bought my 2024 SS 1. Due to low usage, I felt it was a waste of money. I did like the theft protection that was offered. But dropped it. Had to laugh that they were willing to drop the cost just to keep me.Wow thanks for overcharging me from the get-go! Give them an inch. well, you know the rest. I've also notice the road goup that sticks to the lower panels coming up from the front tires mine are only 8.5 rims in the front. This is my first time having a car with Magne Ride, so far, I'm really pleased. Handles like a champ. Going to get the front PPFed soon before getting chips. I too looked at the eBay PPF, but like you it was the price that look good. But knowing a good place to take mine, I'm going to bite the bullet and get someone who does that for his living, not to mention the warranty included. Chips with a white car are easy to hide somewhat but slowing them down from the start maybe even better. Hope you get miles of smiles out of your 1LE.
Great video. Would you recommend sun roof option on the 1le? I hear it affects structural rigidity of the car whatever that means but at the same time it's a sun roof lol. Also, what's the cutoff year that's similar to the 23/24? For example, 20,21,22 etc. Thanks.
I didn't opt for the sunroof as I'm a bit taller, the sunroof costs you 1-2 inches of headroom, which is particularly a problem for anyone over 6' who wants to wear a helmet. The rigidity thing is less of a concern as the Alpha platform is so stiff. All 1LE's are very similar from 2017 to present, but obviously as you get newer, it probably gets a bit more reliable/better sorted.
@@JustCarPeopleThings yup I live 30 mins away from La but city ain’t even safe no more , I garage my car as well but when I’m at a shopping center I’m literally feel like I’m playing with fire
Pretending there is no budget would you trade your 2ss 1le for a ls7 vet / camaro or is there anything you think is a more engaging car? Your car is really sweet thinking about getting one in that color or black. It's a shame no physical hand break, but I don't think it affects anything besides snow driving. Comparing this to a Mustang 350r or Mach 1 you got this because it handles better in corners right? I was cross shopping this car with an Lc 500/ rc f but no Japan manufactures offer rwd v8 with a manual. Even a Jaguar f type svr you can get for 60k a supercharged v8 with flashier looks but reliability now that's a different story. I thought the type r/ integra type s was neat but a 4 cylinder fwd car as great as it might handle wouldn't be as fun in the long term I believe. Classic v8 rwd is the move. I'm coming from a fwd v6 Avalon so I wanna move up in engine lol. Thanks! I learn a lot from your vids!
Nearly bought a C7 GS in Long Beach Red. It was such a great car but the notion of slapping snows on it and driving it year round…it just didn’t make sense. I love the C7 as a platform, but understand that it’s more specialized than a Camaro. I do like the RCF a lot too and probably would have been my choice outside of the Camaro. The 5.0L Lexus V8 is a beast.
@@JustCarPeopleThings thanks a lot for the reply!! yeah that's a great choice too I believe thats a bigger head turner than the Camaro but with the rcf I would just get an lc500 since no manual is offered and lots of other people would choose a m340i over an rcf which idk. everyone has an opinion. my brother has a c6 ls3 6.2l engine but idk a c7 with auto rev matching would be cool too. at least with Camaro its more up to date with technology then c7 so there's that too. the new z06 is obviously nuts as well. cars are so cool! trying to find what's the best bang for your buck budget $60,000 or a little over.
I have a 2018 1SS 1LE and am happy it doesn't have the ADAS system. It's just an added cost with replacing your windshield, and is a tech that in my opinion has no place on a car like that.
Trade offs as 2SS gets you heated and cooled seats, the nifty digital rear view mirror, and blind spot monitoring/park assist. Sadly you can’t break the options up.
Cheap snow tires that came used, paid $440 for all four wheels and nokian snow tires. I will say they would not have been remotely my first choice, but the price was super right for wheels to get chewed up by salt.
Put rock guards on all 4 corners. YOU CHOSE to drive it in sand, salt and dirty snow. It's a car. If you want it to be perfect; drive it on sunny days. You have e other vehicles. I would choose to drive those instead of a car that is increasing in value. I find your complains non-sensicle based on using it in the snow. It is 2" off the ground. SMH.
I do have rock guards on all four corners. Just making sure other owners know to do so as well. It's such a wonderful car to drive, I'd rather drive it.
@@JustCarPeopleThings I get it. ....and I re-read my post to you and it shocked me that I was such a d**khead to you. Really sorry about that. I sm just protective of my car. I love to drive it too. I havnt even started my beater in 3 months. In snow I drive my Kia; but in NOVA it doesn't snow anymore. There really is global warming. We used to get 2 blizzards and 6 storms. Now we get 8" 1 time and it melts the next day. So sorry I was a jerk. We all love our cars. - cski

Get the windshield chip fixed before the crack gets to the edge!

We shouldn't be eating ANYTHING in a 1le. I own a 23 ss 1le and the only thing I allow inside is water. Beautiful ride!
Sweet garage. Keep her especially now that they're not made anymore.

I'm about to pick up a 2023 10auto 1050 miles, 1ss for 40k, is that a good deal ?
I’d say yes. If you’re feeling speedier a 2SS tends to be closer to 45-50k.
Do you have the IGLA kill switch bro looking get one on my 1le
I do not. Secure parking at home and work makes for pretty low risk, but understand why you’d consider it given the rash of thefts lately.

Would you recommend a convertible version to hear the v8 more over the coupe?
Tough call, the 1LE is only coupe as an option so if you want the track pack you’re stuck with the coupe.
