I am still always surprised how these planes don't lose control. I completely understand the physics behind it. But you get a small puddle of water and your car his it and you steering when shakes and sometimes you go a little different direction. Then they didn't lose control acceleration on the take off. It really is amazing.
@@chriskman71 Some serious engineering has gone into the modern airplane making it operational in many different environments and a wet runway is a piece of cake for them, bless up Chris and thanks for watching, do have a great day
The control surfaces on the wings and rudder are still operational to steer it down the runway so airplane is still being "flown down the runway" by the pilot until it slows enough to "taxing speed" for the nose wheel to steer it on the ground. So puddles of water on the runway really have little or no effect on the steering of the airplane.
@@lawrencedavidson6195 thank you for that. I always kinda understood it. It's more on the take off that I'm amazed. I always think of flying the plane, is when you're at speed. Take off / launching to me as a separate thing all together. It's still amazing to me.
So majority of the comparison between car and plane really stems from the tires. They do all the magic. If you compare the depth of thread between both you'd see the L/pm dispersion it has. And lastly a lot of weight and power contributes to it remaining so composed

Stewy, thank you for this vid. I now live abroad, but I use to work at JM back in the day. Stewy, I do not know if it's luck or not, but with my countless trips returning to visit Jamaica since 1983, I have never landed during rain nor soon after a rainfall. The most I have ever experienced are cloudy skies.
