- Today marks the end of an era for BART. These iconic legacy cars make their final runs to Fremont from MacArthur station in Oakland. After today, BART will permanently run their Fleet of the Future cars from this point on. I grew up having to see these Legacy cars once in a while but knowing an era is coming to an end I had to get out and catch these at Fremont. An historical day for many of us Bay Area railfans.

The legacy fleet will be missed by all 😿
I just hope the West Coast Railroad Museum was able to acquire some of these for their exhibit they were trying to build I would hate for all of these heritage Bart cars to be lost and all be scrapped with no surviving examples into preservation
So my plan is this weekend did you know I’m visiting Marquette? I’ll try to see trains up there and have much fun as possible!
Alright have fun!
I was very upset I didn’t get to attend this event and I miss the legacy train already and i have memories riding on the BART legacy fleet when I was young. R.I.P legacy fleet. 1972-2024. 🙁
Truly an end of an era in the Bay Area…
@@SPNGLovato18 Yeah, sad I didn’t get to see the final legacy trains in action on the rails. At least 3 legacy fleet train cars are being preserved to WRM.
I was on that train, 1269.
Rip the bart railcars😞
Also when is episode 43 of the California Railway Series gonna release?
Some lines are taking a little longer than expected so I’m hoping to push it out by late April or early May
Oh
Cool catch bud!
Thanks
Hey Modoc! I have a plan to share with you!
Yeah
@@SPNGLovato18 Wait I’ll share with you tomorrow!
