I always try to support my local fly shops (3 near me) before purchasing materials. But sometimes I enjoy the hunt for alternative materials and like to show folks what possible. Thanks for the great comment. Cheers.
Great idea. I love the way you source materials from unorthodox places. You like that yellow one for trout or steelhead or both? Looks like a fish catcher to me.
I will agree. There tends to be a lot of soft plastics in fishing, both traditional and in fly fishing. Synthetic materials have been dominant for the past couple of decades. What's the impact? Not sure. But I do know that this rubber wormy material disintegrates in the sun over time. I've snagged other anglers lost gear and have found foam bodied flies as good as the day they were tied but obviously have been in the water for years. Cheers and thanks for the comment.
Neat “ fly”. Most of all thanks for the dollar tree tip! Guess I can stop paying $4 a pack ( one color, small amount) at the fly shop

Nice looking worm
Thanks. These worm patterns are always great for a reaction strike. Cheers to a great fishing season.

Thanks Bob. I tied up a few in every color and looking forward to seeing which one is more productive. Cheers
What happens to all that plastic crap when you loose the fly in a tree or on bottom?
