Excellent job explaining ISA 95 Part 2 hierarchical naming and mapping to Sparkplug B in Ignition. I brought up the question to Walker Reynolds about best practices for setting up Group id, Node ID and Device ID in the MQTT Transmitter module in Ignition. Walker has not yet expanded on that topic in his Digital Factory Mentorship/Mastermind training. Your video is very timely and much appreciated! I will be showing this to my automation students at the Pennsylvania College of Technology as we set up our Ignition MQTT transmitters. I appreciate the free MQTT broker access from HiveMQ! HiveMQ makes setting up an MQTT broker fast and easy!

Hi Kudzai, thanks for another great video!
Am I correct that forward slash "/" is reserved and cannot be used in Sparkplug B Topic Namespace? I see that you are using it, therefore my comment. Furthermore, do you use Ignition as a SCADA host?
About the Topic namespace mapping, I used this: spBv1.0/Enterpise\Site\Area\Line/message_type/edge_node_id/PLC\tag
Please, let me know your opinion. Is this also allowed?

Hi Gerrit, yes forward slashes are reserved and cannot be used on the Sparkplug topic namespace but can be used on the metric itself to create a hierarchy. " Based on your topic structure, the best would be to use delimiters like ":" , it looks more readable and you get to avoid both forward and backward slashes.

Excellent video and it is a lot of information so I wanted to ask if you can post more information about your lab since I would like to build on myself. I am talking to your sales team so I will ask them too. Thanks Sal
