Just found y’all while searching van life videos! I live in Amarillo. People either drive through or skip us all together. It’s a quirky and interesting town if you really stay and look around! I’m so glad y’all highlighted the things you did. YCSF and its sister restaurant, Six Car Pub, are my favorite places to eat in town. Tyler’s BBQ is great too if you find your way passing through again. We are a coffee, food, and art focused city, which people don’t really know about! So thank you for your fun profile of our city!
This makes us so happy! Our goal is to highlight the well known and the lesser known cities all around the US (and even the world!) and we were really impressed with the food, coffee, and nature in and near Amarillo. It definitely doesn’t get enough love and we’re so glad to highlight it! We will 100% try Tyler’s BBQ next time 😋
We were so excited to highlight a place that doesn’t get as much love as it should! That’s our big goal in the van and we cannot wait to share more places like this. Now we wish we could’ve heard some music! 🎵🎶
Loved watching you two enjoying your new life on wheels!!! Palo Duro Canyon is a place I definitely want to visit...thanks for introducing it to me!!! I need to start researching my own state! 😝 I loved seeing the sign (“And So They Built A Life They Loved”) hanging on your wall...it is perfect for you two...thanks NanFran for spotting this wonderful vanwarming gift for us to get them at Magnolia!. You two are off to a fantastic life! Love you! 😘❤️❤️🥰
We love you! Happy that you can follow along wherever we go! We promise not to scare ya too bad 😘 And we LOVE our new sign! It makes the van extra homey and is perfect! And y’all should definitely go to Palo Duro-it is awesome!
Came across your channel because I was looking for things to do in Seattle . Can’t wait to see your van adventures across the USA. Wishing you both continued success , and happiness !! Stay safe :-)
Great video guys! So fun to see your adventures begin! I love how you have a mix of van stuff but also really concentrate on the travel aspects too! Looking forward to more adventures! We made it up to Rainier this weekend but the clouds came in as headed up the mountain and the peak was not visible. Now we will have to go back!
Thank you Kate! Our goal is to do somewhere around 80% travel and 20% about the van, but I’m sure we will mention the van more at first since it’s so new to us! That’s such a bummer about Rainier...we know that feeling allll too well lol! 🤣😭
Yay we’re so glad you enjoyed it! It’s kind of scary to post about places that people may not be super excited to see or not know about, but we’re determined to find gems all over the US (and Canada!)
Been slowly making it through all your videos & finally made it to this one! My husband and I hiked the lighthouse trail last year and took the wrong, hard way up too so I had to laugh a little to know we weren’t the only ones who did! Love all your videos and looking forward for all the future adventures!
Good video y’all! Can’t believe you did that hike in August! We did it during spring break one year . Must have been really miserable!! Love the van. Super jelly 👍
I love your Van... It’s great to see your adventures, I can see your channel growing bigger, I am a new subscriber and I’m really enjoying your videos. Would you guys go to central and South America ? If you do make sure to visit my beautiful country Colombia!! Best of luck and I can’t wait to watch more videos!
Hi Susy! Thank you so much! We would LOVE to go to Central and South America! We have heard that Colombia is incredible (and we love coffee, so even better!). Our plans for 2020 are up in the air, but that’s high on our list!
You guys are truly a cool couple and so inspiring. My wife and I are getting ready to head back to FSOAHU on Tuesday and can’t wait to get back to Ko Olina, we plan on checking out some of your recommendations when y’all were in Oahu
Been thru Amarillo when we traveled Route 66. Did not stop at the Cadillac Ranch but it was on our to do list, not sure why we didn't stop. If you're ever in NE, need to see Carhenge up by Alliance. Pretty cool but don't bring any spray paint! ; )
Amarillo is nice but Palo Duro is awesome. We made the same mistake at the picnic area, my wife cried on the way up as she worried how best to get down & it was nearly dark. Also check out Adobe Walls near Stinnett.
We are Super Happy for you both. Our first didn't go well, lol. Trying to leave MN Feb 2019 during a blizzard. Amarillo is a nice place, just not in the summer.
Fun fact: that is not the original location of Cadillac Ranch. It was originally about a mile east of its current location. The city was encroaching on the original location, so they move it a mile down the road!
Fun Fact #2: there is another state park about 100 miles southeast of Amarillo called Caprock Canyons that is a part of the same canyon system as Palo Duro. Not as big, but still pretty impressive.
I love the positive feedback to the restaurant, thank you so much i know how hard it is to try your best and get bad feedback from someone, so thanks for that i love the 7 rules No reservations unless you're Bruce Lee 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 much love and the best vibes towards you guys see you soon on your way back trough colorado 😀
What... you guys probably drove right through Lubbock! I'm from Lubbock, which is considered the hub of the west Texas area. If you are ever in the Lubbock area, I highly recommend stopping by Evie Mae's BBQ. Also Yellow House coffee is a small and cozy coffee shop with great coffee! Their ribs and brisket are great! Their jalapeno cream corn is great, but avoid their potato salad!
Thank you so much for the recommendations! We stopped near Lubbock on our drive down from Colorado a few weeks back, but got there late and couldn’t do anything 😭. We will be driving this route a lot in and out of Texas, so we will definitely check that out!
Hey guys just came across your video because we will be stopping in Amarillo during our upcoming road trip! Great suggestions. Curious what time of the year you were there? I noticed it is cold! We will be passing through end of February. Thanks!
If you aren’t into rock climbing, start!! There are tons of areas around the United States that you can do it:)! Also I know your from Seattle so make to come visit us back north to go skiing ;) Also how comfortable is your bed? Honestly.? Haha looks nice but comparison to your bed at home?
We tried indoor bouldering once and thought it was super fun! We wish we would’ve done that more. Would’ve helped us on this hike 😅. And we are headed north now, but unfortunately not for winter. We’re still weenies about driving in the snow without AWD lol! It’s actually super comfy! It’s not too smushy like memory foam can be and we have slept super well so far. The only negative is we keep parking on sloped ground so we aren’t sleeping very level. But we’re loving that it’s bigger than our bed was at home, so that makes it win for us lol!
LOL! Adam jokes all the time about the non vegan van lifer thing 🤣 We love us some vegan ice cream, but also love us some brisket. It’s about the balance 😜 Thanks so much Liz!
Definitely not a bad thing at all! 😄 We love us some good vegan food. But it’s definitely a huge stereotype that all people who live in a van are vegan, which we are aren’t.
New Subscriber. We are going to Palo Duro in November. We will have to try Yellow City. We are actually a burger family, but I will never turn down a good taco meal. How new all ya'll to road tripping? We aren't full timers but we love camping and try to go often. We also have started a RUclips. We would love for you to go check it out.
We hit the road full time over a year ago! And minus the holidays and three months at the beginning of covid, we have been on the road. We hope y’all enjoy Palo Duro! 🙌🏼
Not all of them allow it, but if we are in cities with locations that do allow it (and there is no free nature option), we sleep at them. We prefer rest areas and Cracker Barrels over Walmarts though, as they feel safer to us.
Native Amarillo guy here! Glad to see you two enjoyed your stay!
We had a great time! Thanks for watching!

Please be safe! Don’t scare me even a teeny tiny bit! 😘❤️❤️
The sites, history, the food and drinks, everything combined- I hope people take your advice.
We hope so too! Lots of cool spots around the US-some well known, some not, but there’s tons to explore!
I live in Amarillo and I love it. There is a lot of cool things about this city
Where else should we visit next time?!
Drive safe and many wonderful adventures ahead!
Thank you Terence!

Thank you Sofia! We appreciate the support so much! And if you have already been to Seattle, we hope you had a great time. 😄

Yay we’re so glad you enjoyed it! It’s kind of scary to post about places that people may not be super excited to see or not know about, but we’re determined to find gems all over the US (and Canada!)
Nice North Texas video. Your coffee was in a Pyrex Erlenmeyer flask. Cool.
Thank you!
So happy for you guys! The van looks super nice, comfortable and cozy.
Thank you so much! It has been so amazing so far. The bed is comfy and we haven’t gotten annoyed with the smaller space lol!
after watching this amazing vlog, now I want to go out get some tacos and coffee and head to the beach
Now THAT sounds like the perfect day! 🙌🏼
Awesome video guys safe travels.
Thank you Olga! 😄
Great video guys! Can’t wait to see more. 👍😀
Thank you so much! 🙌🏼
Good to see you guys enjoying your van, it looks beautiful.
Thanks Bill! It feels great to finally get to enjoy it!

Love all your videos and looking forward for all the future adventures!
Hahahah I’m so glad we aren’t alone! We really want to visit this park again...but not in the summer haha
Good video y’all! Can’t believe you did that hike in August! We did it during spring break one year . Must have been really miserable!! Love the van. Super jelly 👍
It was pretty brutal at first lol! But so worth it for the view!
Theses are awesome and wonderful people and are adventurous, good luck guys 😁
Thank you!

Sweet!! 🙌🏼

Ahhhh have an amazing time and make sure to have a dole whip for us when you’re there! 😉
Been thru Amarillo when we traveled Route 66. Did not stop at the Cadillac Ranch but it was on our to do list, not sure why we didn't stop. If you're ever in NE, need to see Carhenge up by Alliance. Pretty cool but don't bring any spray paint! ; )
Ooo Carhenge looks SO cool! And while the spray paint look is pretty fun and colorful, it causes SO much littering 😖
You guys are in my neck of the woods. If you want to stop in Midland for lunch, let me know!
Aw man, we are currently up in Wyoming! 😔
Came across your channel looking for Palo Duro Canyon. Love the channel and you guys are doing great with the videos you guys are creating.
Thank you so much Jose! Have you been to Palo Duro Canyon? It’s so beautiful! And hot lol! 🥵
Amarillo is nice but Palo Duro is awesome. We made the same mistake at the picnic area, my wife cried on the way up as she worried how best to get down & it was nearly dark. Also check out Adobe Walls near Stinnett.
Palo Duro was super cool! Minus hiking back in the dark haha. Thank you for the tip, we will have to check that out!
We are Super Happy for you both. Our first didn't go well, lol. Trying to leave MN Feb 2019 during a blizzard. Amarillo is a nice place, just not in the summer.
Oh no!!!
Fun fact: that is not the original location of Cadillac Ranch. It was originally about a mile east of its current location. The city was encroaching on the original location, so they move it a mile down the road!
Ooo interesting! Didn't know that!
Love this video!
Thank you! We’re so glad!
Fun Fact #2: there is another state park about 100 miles southeast of Amarillo called Caprock Canyons that is a part of the same canyon system as Palo Duro. Not as big, but still pretty impressive.
We may be going there very soon! Super excited!
Looks fantastic! I think I’m going to have to come to the US!
Yes!!! There are so many incredible places in the US! Where are you from?!
Texas is sooo large! I’ve always wanted to visit The Cadillacs!
They are super cool! Definitely worth a stop if you’re driving through!
If you've seen the movie Cars, then you've seen the panhandle, including Cadillac Ranch and the towns of Shamrock and Adrian, Texas.
Yep! 😃 They’re fun to experience for yourself too!
great job... i love this van.
Thank you so much!
You guys went!!!
We did!!! And loved it! Definitely would love to go back when it’s not 100 degrees lol 😅
Thank you so much, Cesar!
So cool video

I’m from Lubbock! We go to Palo Duro allll the time. Get scary hot in the summer though
It was brutal at first!!! Thankfully the sun started to set. You’re so lucky to have such a gem so close to you!
Does it snow in late February? Planning to visit
Lol nobody calls Amarillo the Yellow City (or Bomb City) except newbie hipsters. Old timers just say Amarillo, or Amarilla, or The Rilla.
Hey guys just came across your video because we will be stopping in Amarillo during our upcoming road trip! Great suggestions. Curious what time of the year you were there? I noticed it is cold! We will be passing through end of February. Thanks!
It can definitely get cold and really windy! I'd check the weather forecast before you go and be prepared for any kind of weather
If you aren’t into rock climbing, start!! There are tons of areas around the United States that you can do it:)!

I love you guys! You're so real! And finally a van couple who's not vegan 🙌 Can't wait to see all your future adventures!!
LOL! Adam jokes all the time about the non vegan van lifer thing 🤣 We love us some vegan ice cream, but also love us some brisket. It’s about the balance 😜 Thanks so much Liz!
When is veganism a bad thing lol
Definitely not a bad thing at all! 😄 We love us some good vegan food. But it’s definitely a huge stereotype that all people who live in a van are vegan, which we are aren’t.
Very cool. What was your budget on the van ?
We wanted to spend $18K on the conversion, but it ended up being $23K. Oops. Lol! The van itself was around $55K after taxes/fees 😊
Saludos desde México
Can you hike down to the bottom of the canyon or is it top viewpoint only?
Yes I believe there is a trail or two that will take you to the bottom of the canyon

What coffee shop is it
We heard it actually closed since we filmed this :(
You can stay at Walmart parking lots
Not all of them allow it, but if we are in cities with locations that do allow it (and there is no free nature option), we sleep at them. We prefer rest areas and Cracker Barrels over Walmarts though, as they feel safer to us.
I live in Amarillo
En Amarillo Texas no hay nada que ver
