    In small animal veterinary medicine we prefer a stage and plane of anesthesia where the patient is still ventilating on their own; they do pretty well like this and PP ventilation is rarely necessary. In large animal veterinary medicine, ventilators are sometimes used, especially in equine surgery.

    Do you all ever attach a ventilator to the anesthesia machine? YOu all don't use NMBAs do you?
