Congrats for arriving at the 10.000 Subscribers Dylan,... Awesome milestone, Next stop, 20K. Thanks for the 8" RASA Image mate, Until next time, Clear Skies.
Congrats on 10K subscribers! Your vids help make this hobby fun and inspiring. The pix and the processing are always top notch. Cheers from Calgary Alberta.
As an amateur astrophotographer your videos make me extremely happy! Serious photography under magnificent skies delivered with wit and humor. Appreciate your work! Greetings from rainy Germany!
If you build it they will come. One day this channel will be crowded and we will be yearning for the good old days when Dylan used to answer comments even if you didn't bribe him to do so on Patreon. ;p
So you focus your stars but not the youtube "to camera" shot? But I digress, the Bintel weather site is so good, thank you heaps. I may die before I get through all you videos, but I will try to. Thanks again Dylan. I'm looking up Hawke beer now.
I have been looking to buy a scope. It can be frustrating with so much to out there. I think I might go with this scope. I am loving how fast it is and time is everything in Texas. We could have fine weather and it can change very quickly, so something fast and with good quality was very important to me. I also liked that you do not necessarily need a guide scope. That saves me more money to get a better mount. Get this scope, a ZWO1600MM Cooled Camera, a good mount and I should be off to a good start for a beginner. I will probably need a few more things, but these are the big money items. If you have anything else to add, please do. Wishing you clear skies from San Antonio, Texas! Thanks again!
Another great vid, and just a breathtaking shot! Quick question: you’ve gone with the teensy-weensy-widdle ZWO 30mm mini guide scope for your RASA8. On paper it seems like a good fit - and clearly your guiding is working great - but it’s a massive change from the ultra-mega-jumbo guide scope on your RASA11. Can you fill us in on how you find it?
It's perfect actually. The guide error is half what the guide error was on the big scope, which is telling. It means those guide stats are hard to compare between people with different guide focal lengths. A wide guide / little guide scope reports quite a low error because the stars don't move as much with the higher focal lengths. For the rasa 8 it works great but I'm interested in seeing if it would cut the mustard for my longer scopes.
I agree with below! Fair play mate and gongrats on 10k subs. Keep the awesome vids coming you explain things well to the full width half brain dummies like me! 😜 Speaking of which would you do a vid on how you get focus from software using FWHM? Hi Dylan. The 8” RASA pics are impressive. I just go an Hiperstar for my STC 9.25 together with my first Ha filter! Those pictures showed Ha-H/O/A, can you clarify the composition of exposures included there? And what filter is “A”? I’d love a detailed video on the ‘2-camera’ method. Love your channel!

Congratulations reaching 10k + subs 👍great upload as always. That's the only issue using a equatorial mount 'meridian flip', alt/az mounts on a wedge don't do that.....keep up the great work ☺
For a mod to your scope for fine focus, try a peanut butter (Vegimite) jar lid. Drill a hole in the center of the lid to accept a rubber grommet that will friction-fit over your focus knob.

I don't have time for prints.. I am thinking of throwing up a merch store but don't really have time for all that stuff just yet :) My work is free so anyone can download and print it though !
Just to piggyback on what Dylan said... since his work is free and he says it's okay to download it and print, I can suggest pretty much any local print shop that has a large poster printer. One of my past employers had an HP "PosterJet" printer, I used to love printing my own posters with that thing. One time I printed a bus map on "banner paper" but I usually used glossy paper. Anyway, most print shops will take submissions via e-mail or upload and charge their nominal fee. In some cases you would pick it up if it was local or they'd ship it to you if they were not local and offered that option.
