I got one of these. To be fair, 5 minute read of the manual and the experience is allot better. They’re not bad for the price, fun little backyard drone.
I have the same one and if you control it with the control it is very stable even when using it indoors. with the app it is uncontrollable
Absolutely right but I Did need an Lens for reading my manual and the first important thing is calibrate the gyro's everytime you Fly

What if that SD button was standard definition, and you just jammed the camera into standard definition mode? :D
This drone does seem to have a headless mode. Maybe something was lost in translation.
For someone who has never touched a drone.. would LiftOff simulator be the best tool for learning the basics? VelociDrone's Lil Bastard, DJI Drone Simulator? What about the controller? Tbs Tango 2 pro?
What physical drone would be a good starter? I'm interested in
1) FPV and free-style / flippy-flops
2) Autonomous Flying (Waypoint, Lua scripting, Return-To-Home)
3) Follow-Me (Sport-Tracking) and Obstacle Avoidance
And how does a custom DIY build compare to the features/performance of commercial offerings with proprietary firmware..like the Skydio2+, or Mavic Air 2S?
Would any of these be a best-bargain?

Don't get $20 drone, get $10 one. Same robust construction, I've crashed mine dozens of times and it's still going. Plus even if you lose it you wouldn't lose much sleep over it.
I ended up with something like this and it was my first drone. Glad that ridiculous drift wasn't me. That thing lifted off and just flew into oblivion as I helplessly watched.

I just finished testing one of these. Never flew a drone before in my life and my father gave me this. Thank you for letting me know it's hard to control even for experienced people. It was a disaster.

It's not that bad. I have $10 drone and I can fly it fine. USE THE PROVIDED CONTROLLER! It makes it so much easier! Controlling using smart phone interface is virtually impossible. Only really bad thing about these super cheap drones is abysmal camera.
@@universal7564 "You got to trim the steering first" yes that's right. But trims are not available on smart phone interface. And trying to fly the drone on smart phone interface is so much more difficult. It's like Nth level challenge even for experienced drone pilots.

It does not damage upon impact because it has no weight to it.
The DJI weights 20 times (or so ... whatever) of this shit.
If you want to have fun with a small drone, get a tiny whoop (Blade, Happymodel etc).
You get a good camera picture and it is fun to fly with.
Unfortunately you need a controller, a module to connect the drone to your phone (each one rotg01) and a controller.
Everything together cost around 150-200 bucks.
But that is the only way go get a decent drone and a GREAT experience.

Full marks for the best and only video on these heaps of crap that I have watched to the end. Here's my summary - Manual may as well be non-existent. As much use as a hip pocket in a singlet. And the App? Are you kidding? I couldn't get it to fly reliably manually and keep it under something resembling control which generally involved heading for the ground in a controlled manner. Functions - non existent and becasue the connection was so crap how do you know if it's working anyway? eg Trim - never did get it to work. It seems you need three hands and as for 'Headless' Mode - like you, I was expecting that among the results of an impact with my person. Follow me? How about just go where the F%^9 you're supposed to - stupid drone? Your video provided some entertainment when all that the drone provides is a tide of rising angst and determination to overcome / remedy its shortcomings. Then realism sets in. Towards the end when you mentioned you live near the South Coast I thought "You Beauty - he 's going to try crossing the Channel and deliver his loyal viewers a deserving end to this aggravating item of retail deception!" BTW I paid AUD$165 - the site wanted me to buy two. Get my money back? From the depths of China. Yeah right. Great video though keep em coming.
They're 15 quid mate, more phool you for thinking you're gonna get a DJI for less than a score 🙄
