I've never built a model kit and I've had this kit sitting on my shelf for two years because I was concerned I was going to mess it up. This video has got me excited to give it a go! Great video : )
I need to revisit that model too. Third one I completed, I think, my first big decaling job, struggled with it, but it also convinced me it was something I wanted to master. I’m not there yet.
@@TheDanCave doing well buddy, hope you the family had a great Christmas as well. Video was good man sometimes the short ones are great and to the point.
thinking of getting this as my first "proper" scale model kit that isnt a gundam, is it good for "kind of" beginners? (choosing the celica since it's my favorite)
Hi there, the airbrush I use depends on what I am doing. I have 7 in total. I use a UMP Apex 0.35 for Acrylic Primer, UMP Apex 0.35 for Lacquer Metallics, UMP Apex 0.35 for 2K Clear. H&S Inifinity 0.4 for Lacquer Colour, H&S Infinity 0.15 for detail painting, 2 Iwata Neos for other general Acrylic work.

Yep, it's a good kit and great value, decals are not brilliant and require work so give it plenty of heat and decals solutions - otherwise you shouldn't go wrong with it.

You have got to start somewhere. I have plenty of kits I have ruined over the years. Just have fun doing it.
Man! That black Trans Am on your shelf is a beast!
Thank you kindly - its the Revell 1:8 kit. (The kit itself is like a scaled up 24th scale one)
You build m 25 years ago.
I sold the widebody’s in 1992.
Time flies.
Time does fly. The 90s feels like yesterday.
Came out very good in the end Dan. even with all your disruptive work patterns and 'mojo' moods a clean neat finish that Diddier would be proud of. 👏😎
Thanks Richard. I might tag him on Instagram to see if he does approve!!

Everyone struggles a bit with those decals. As they are Tamiya's own they are never great to work with.
Very nice build. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Michael
Wenn done. Thank you for this video
Thank you for watching
Came out nice Dan, hope you had a nice holidays.
Thanks Brandon - they were too short as always. Hope you are doing well and had a good Christmas

great video but may i ask since im new in this hobby, do you need to paint the chassis before applying the decals?
Yes, you do. The body should be primed and painted.
what primer do you use?, and also wht do yo use for the decals?
Body is primed in UMP White primer, and for the decals I used UMP Decal softeners (Normal and Strong).
kindly what airbrush are you using?
