Our friends Tash and Jon from Life Beyond Bricks have a brand new Dethleffs Pulse i 7051 dbl motorhome and were kind enough to show me around. It's an A-class motorhome and I was really surprised at the space and the storage- not to mention in love with the garage!!

I left my job to tour Europe in a motorhome. When not touring, we review motorhomes, ride motorbikes, pick up after our cocker spaniel puppy and enjoy spending time outdoors. Our home-base is a boat- a bit different from motorhome life!

Good video, we have a 64 reg Bailey and went to a couple of showrooms to look at new motorhomes yesterday. Our main requirements are a fixed bed, full size cooker and good space for a nice tv and skybox. Why is this so hard to find ? Our Bailey 740 has all these perfectly but cannot find a single layout in any new van which is as good.
The grill/oven in most are very disappointing...do the continentals not cook ? Thought you mentioned that Detleffs had a satellite dome .. where did/would you put the skybox ?
In general most UK spec Dethleffs come with the small thetford Oven and Grill, Motorhomes designed on the continent never seem to have Ovens, not sure why. Part of the GT pack on this Van has an auto seeking fold flat satellite dish and the TV has the receiver built in to the TV. It has a CAM slot which you used to be able to use the sky viewing card in but not sure whether that is still the case. If you needed to add a sky box you would probably have to mount it upright below the TV.
No, it seems to be a cultural thing- or maybe a 'it's too hot to cook' thing, but most European vans don't include ovens, only a hob.
Outside and cab area was very nice but working area very disappointing.

A stupid rule that does not allow a driving test on the same vehicle as you actually drive, but a lorry and all the trappings that go with it. Coach driver cannot drive one without taking a lorry test????
There must be some idiots in bureaucracy that do not have any common sense. 3500kgs is not practical and the little extra weight involves so much hassle on top . EU rules are to blame but the UK never updated the medical and licence rules .
