It's so incredibly seamless, too. As both a 3D and 2D animator, this is pure eye candy.
The images put onto 3D models are 2d so it’s not exactly groundbreaking

1:20:37 There's a note earlier in the game where a disgruntled robot worker added a firmware to the coffee maker that makes it only dispense decaf as payback. I can't believe something so minute would have a comedic payoff.

That's another reason why this game is amazing. It's CONTINUITY for even the little details. Korsica even commented on why there is firmware on the coffee maker.
Hopefully Korsica gets her caffeinated Coffee after all this
I love those little notes. One of my favourites is near the closed door at the entrance to the Testing Labs where Zanzo orders the staff to build that door even though it leads to literally nothing, just to give the impression of grandeur if Kale ever showed up
The robot guards have been programmed for maximum personality.
I love that they name the actual songs when a new one comes up.
So it's easier to look up because it's an actual soundtrack.

i am not sure about that there is a history of games turned into movies and then failing I can only think of one that actually worked and it was the sonic movie every other movie just cut most of the game out to fit into the movie
1:11:13 okay not going to lie that was one of the best boss transformations I've ever seen I never thought they would actually go for a cybernetic werewolf as a boss. Pretty badass.

As a matter fact, Ben 10 did this first, by having him rename his alien form that we originally just knew as “Ben-Wolf” to “Blitzwolfer” after literally watching CNN on a nearby television!
They also share quite the striking resemblance!
And it still had a monocle.
Poor Korsica, Chai tries to handle her gently but he just keeps bumping her head against *EVERYTHING* .
It's why I consider her end of boss qte a fail canonically lmao
Fits better with how he keeps accidentally hurting Korsica.

Honestly watching that scene got me stuck to watching more of the game demo

It was an instant buy for me

The game is fun yes, but it also has heart. The story shines thanks to how well the characters were made, is compelling even when it makes fun of itself. I will treasure this experience forever.

1:11:14 This is probably the most cleanest and coolest animated cutscene I’ve ever seen in a video game.
I just love how they gave the robot enemies so much personality.
1. Zanzo got them JoJo poses. The devs are cultured.
2. Macaron sounds like if Dwayne Johnson was British (in a good way).
3. ES-101 sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger
4. 808 is the strongest character in that world soloing Kale, having two of the strongest abilities in the game one being the highest damage super you can get.

Normally I don't like watching "game movies". But this didn't feel a normal cutscene compilation, this game and it's cutscenes have enough charm to work as a show or movie.
Maybe as a show with at least 5 episodes for each boss fight.
I would like to point out that Kale’s undoing all began the moment he touched someone else’s property.
More like carelessly tossed away someone else's property.
Know that think of it he threw a wrench into his own plan.
I think the funniest thing about it is that it was like a one in a million chance that the MP3 landed right onto Chai. Like it bounced off a few pipes, off a cleaning robot, and fell at just the right angle that it landed right on his chest. I honestly think that's more insulting to Kale than the whole "I created my own worst enemy thing" lol
Can we take a moment to appreciate that the main cast is named after herbs?

Even tho I cannot play the game. Man, I am so glad something like this exist. A videogame that just focus on being fun and passionate, not just 'how much money we can milk?'. Excellent work, Tango

which means one of the creators of the game knew what they were doing and also has done a good choice
too bad they made them a joke boss and not an actual bossfight
I watched the whole thing, despite this being a game I got a whole movie out of it.
I always liked warm hearted movies and for this to blend it into a cartoony animation of a game is awesome
1:11:11 this was by far the easiest fight in the game once you realized this guy is allergic to the grapple/magnet hook. But he was my favorite for the sheer spectacle of it. Wish he had like 10 more phases.

@@ZefDavenport If you constantly use the magnet to get super close to him and stay in the air as you do damage, he can't hit you back at all. Basically the fight is a massive game of don't touch the floor.

Just finished the game a couple hours ago and wanted to watch all of the cutscenes again because it’s PHENOMENAL. Really makes me consider going into game design I gotta say
To think that Kale himself doomed his own project... It's kind of funny.
Also, one of the things I love the most when a character is transformed in one way or another is when they start realizing the several new things they have going on. In this case, love how Chai at 6:56 starts noticing his new... heartbeat? That wasn't there before. His face when he sees what it actually is is priceless.

I’m not sure if this comparison is accurate, but Kale is basically like Ratchet from Robots if he were a human. He doesn’t care about the people, he only cares about selling something to them that they’ll either have no choice but to buy or have to literally give up their limbs to buy.
