This is a world of magic.
This is a world in which magic is casually used by everyone.
In a deep, dark forest in this world of magic, there is a boy who is singlemindedly working out.
His name is Mash Burnedead, and he has a secret. He can’t use magic.

You know an arc isn’t necessarily filler, right? Like, wasting time with something like this, if there’s no point to it because he’s just so strong makes this filler… just because it goes by fast doesn’t make it substansive.

I mean a labyrinth isn't hard to solve in fairness. It's technically a single path.
Yeah, it's different from a maze but they've become conflated. A maze has multiple paths, a labyrinth only has one. A maze is a puzzle, a labyrinth is meant more for meditative wandering.
Weird that that is the meaning its said to have.

Which is odd considering its original myth it was specifically meant to be complex and hard to escape and navigate. Both logic and literary sources were very clear about the labyrinth and its many branches.

As soon as I saw the title of this episode from the previous week I thought immediately “ Mash is gonna punch his way through the maze isn’t he” and I was right 😂😂🎉🎉
It’s funny because at certain points he was close enough to a corner to just walk around the wall rather then punch straight through it but nah homie time to show these gains
Looking back at the path, he could've easily went two or three steps left or right to get through some of these walls, but no he had to still punch a hole through

To be completely fair, the test never specified how to get out of the maze. The students could’ve float themselves onto the walls and make to the exit. That or use their magic to make their own path like what’s Mash did. So in other words, Mash passed with flying colors

This looks like One Punch Man without the fun
I have never seen this anime before, and have no clue what it is, but that solution to the problem the writer created is lazy as sin. This appears to be a test where the goal is to escape the labyrinth, so can someone tell me what they’re meant to learn from this or what skill they’re meant to embody to pass?
In something like Naruto, their version of the tournament arc had meaning to it’s challenges that pertained to the position they’d be given should they pass the exam. Is it just “avoid monsters”? Why should I care if they just get one shot. Is it to “use your skills to solve a maze”? Why should I care if the main character can just punch holes through it. Using immense strength to circumvent challenges that require the use of other skills isn’t engaging, unless the only thing you get out of it is to envision yourself as being powerful, which is kind of a shame.
Something like “If you don’t find a way out in time, then monsters will be released” would be a more interesting rule. Lets say that’s a stipulation to the goal of escaping the maze, and should you not make it out in time you have something that allows you to “opt out” and escape. A way to make this interesting is to not have any escape passages open in the time before the monsters get out. You build a hopelessness in the competitors, and then once the monsters are released, the real test is to see who’s going to persevere through that hopelessness. There doesn’t even need to be a monster and you get a cool challenge that focuses on characters and what they’ll do when the going gets tough instead of showcasing how strong and cool they are.
I’m seriously interested if there’s a message or lesson to the test they’re doing in the video. Make it make sense.
It’s a comedy shonen, don’t give it too much thought.
