Hi. This video has a ton of great information in it. I did a video on this subject a few weeks ago. I hope you don't mind, but I was thinking of posting a link to this video in my comments. You use a different approach than I did so I thought it might be useful for people see your method.
That's what I was thinking! Here's the official docs for servicing: archive.org/details/vectrex-service-manual/ console5.com/techwiki/images/f/f8/Vectrex-Troubleshooting_Guide.pdf
Thanks, this is helpful. Will be adjusting my Vectrex soon using your guidance, as mine is centered but too far down. Btw, the white "film" on your screw is actually a spider's nest. I've come across them on old Atari and Sega console screw holes, too. Cheers.
The problem I'm noticing with mine is that the screen doesn't stretch enough to the left side. I wish these were a bit more straight forward. I don't want to make it worse and it's still very playable so I may leave it for now.
That film? Spider web. Seen these on dozens of old electronics and toys.
Very informative, I planned on centering my screen today and this will help me greatly, thanks!
Did that work for you? Mine is way off.
Thanks man! Nice and easy adjustment for my Vectrex, now I'm all lined up!
The box / lines on my deflection protect test are all broken the rest of the tests are perfect 🤔

Clay Carlino Sounds good. The more info the better!
Why couldn't you use the xpos and ypos potentiometers on the circuit board?

There are no xpos or ypos potentiometers. The manual tells you to rotate the magnets, just like he did.
Thanks Rob helpful. Nice to hear you are a human.. 'oh my god the sounds gone did I f##k it up'... Subbed.
Thanks for watching and the sub!

Can the vectrex also generate scanlines by behaving like a crt screen? Hence how could it else track down the light pen?
