Many thanks. Happy that you're enjoying my videos. It's back to the steam action for my final video from the 2024 Welland Rally.

A great video David!👍 It's good to capture the "non-steam" visitors and wonderful that so many old lorries, busses and coaches have been preserved. A friend of mine always photographed contemporary fairground generator lorries and tow trucks, saying they'd one day be forgotten, so it's nice to see some still going. And, high good to see an orange Field Marshal tractor, like my Dinky Toy version!😄

Thanks. I was quite surprised to find two "old friends" on display as soon as I entered the rally, the two red Faun tractor units (that I've included on my thumbnail picture) formerly owned by Abnormal Load Engineering (ALE) of Stafford, that I used to see regularly hauling the large generators and transformers out of my workplace at the now partly demolished Alstom (formerly English Electric and GEC, and now General Electric) factory in Stafford. Didn't realise that they had entered preservation! One (Q82 AAW) is now owned by Mike Lawrence of Highbridge, Somerset, well known in railway preservation circles for moving steam locomotives around the UK. A BBC documentary featuring Mike Lawrence and his team is available here on RUclips, entitled "One Iron Horse, Handle with Care".

@davidcattell7311 Hi Dave, thanks for the tip off re the BBC film. I've seen films from the Barry yard, but not seen that particular one. It must have been an amazing place to see, if a tad sad. I think a few road-steam engines came from there as well if I recall? I did have a wry smile when they were talking about safety in the film - no gloves, basic tools and no damper on the winch line - great days!

@@SandJ-Adventures It's a fascinating documentary. I finally managed to get to visit Barry Scrapyard in the summer of 1987. Only a few loco's left in there by then. Only saw 3862, 48173, 35011, and 5553 and that was it! Would have been amazing to have gone there when there were still hundred of loco's left in there, but never expected it to be so easy to see and so near the seafront!
