A British gem. Seems the further back you go the better the characters you had.
@scienceandhiphop2011 _FFS... really_ 😡
it does seem like that. Maybe they still exist but are ignored?
@@DenkyManner your probably right, it's not popular now if your not "discovered" by TV shows.
@scienceandhiphop2011 1930s Germany was in the UK?
You don’t get wholesome stories like this anymore
Bless him, so happy riding his little bike!
This season of “The Repair Shop” which is a British show, just had this exact bike on (the bigger one) and they restored it for his grand daughter’s. Wow, too cool to see this now. The show can be found on Discovery+ in the U.S. He passed away in 1976.
I'd have liked to have seen how he made these tiny bikes. I don't suppose many of the components could be obtained off--the-shelf. I'd far rather that than have to sit through The Repair Shop, which is execrable.
I've literally just watched it, that's why I googled Tabbs Mini Cycles!
Amazing to think this man was born in 1883!
I was born in 1980. Is this also amazing?
@@swaneknoctic9555 Can you ride a teeny weeny bike tho?
@@andydixon2980 I’ve never tried :)
2 years before, back the future 3
@@paulcalvert8105 Back to the Future 3 is from 1990.
He lived till he was 93 (1976) and held the record for riding a 12 inch cycle the furthest for over 40 years
Can't beat an old fashioned british eccentric. Where have they all gone?
Jimmy So-vile gave them a bad name.
pure talent!
Easily one of the best things I've ever seen in my life. Pure joy.
bless him!
this has made my day
The lost art of English eccentrism
Stuff like this used to be on the local TV news. It's all the same dire blueprint now for all the stations across the UK itv included.
That’s what I look like on my Brompton!
How the life was simple for that Victorian era guy ? I can only loathe my life.
things and changes he must have seen is what we all say, but this guy just loves a bike ride 😂🙏
God, I remember this from when I was young!
Good old chap!!
All Brits, especially the elderly ones, are always so charming.
Future of gravel bikes right there...
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He was a Victorian
Bleedin' 'ipsters.
I wonder how he might have reacted to know that 45 years later, thousands of people from the future would be appreciating his hobby via this broadcast. And doing so on technology he could only dream of, or perhaps even seem like magic in it's own right.
i think he would have been honored and probably said "people still remembering an old duffer like me!"
Wasn't he approaching his tenth decade?
Good point!
@@BBCArchive Thanks for letting me know what you think a good point is.
Some pedal overlap on the front wheel.
Hahahaha 😂
He started riding a year before the Jack the Ripper murders…
😂😂😂
Lmao
they dont make em like this anymore
Should've had theme tune added "I like to ride my bycycle " by Queen 🚲😁
Alas, that song wasn't released for another 7 years.
Good grief no! I think every single regional BBC news article that even remotely glanced at a bike had this god-awful tune over the top!
@@BBCArchive and a further 2 years after Mr Tabb passed away (aged 93 in 1976)
Alf would be 140 years old if he's still with us...
Back before the BBC became a pure propaganda channel.
Wonder what Alf's pronouns were
Calm down, Mussolini.
Someone show this to Joe Biden
