i have an 07 kx250F and i put a DynoJet kit into the carb. my bike was haveing the exact same mystery problem you were describing. we had to put the stock needle back in with the aftermarket jets, adjust the F/A mixture screw and now it runs like the champion she is.
I was a having the same problem a week ago. I bought the bike used. It would start and run fine but once I put it in gear it would pop and then just die. I was told by a bike mechanic it was most likely the accelerator pump. I just decided to buy an aftermarket one from boysen. I got it and put it on and the bike actually ran and rode great.
@Briana Dees If you’re running a keihin fcr carburetor, the Boyesen QuickShot system with an accelerator pump rebuild kit is what fixed my issue. However, I don’t think that is your main issue. Your choke limits airflow and allows more fuel to enter the combustion chamber, enriching your mixture, hence your bike is starving for fuel. My advice would be to pull your carb back apart (if everything in the engine is within spec i.e. valves, cam timing, etc) and find an online diagram for reference, check your pilot jet for any obstructions, use carb clean and compressed air, check your fuel or air screw, check the pin on the throttle slide, also check to make sure you vacuum plate is facing the right direction. I’d need a little more backstory on the bike and when this problem began to point you in a specific direction.
same problem had to run my bike on choke... filled carb with seafoam let it sit for 2 hours then drained it and added the seafoam to fuel and let it run for 30 mins and bam ! she good to go
Went through the same thing as you. My bike kept sputtering and bogging really bad. Checked every squar inch of the bike. Rebuilt the carb cleaned it 10 times. Still didn’t fix it. Said fuck it bought a new carb. Bike ran good as new. The old carb looked perfect. It’s still a mystery.
@@curtsawchik1480I’m having this problem as we speak😭just bought my first bike 2010 kx250f a couple weeks ago tried to mess with the acceleration pump still dyin soon as I give it gas now I’m saving a lil bit to hopefully get this new carb and finally ride🤞🏼😭
my guess is a torn air filter or a leak somewhere in the airbox. Or maybe even a bad fuel filter that is breaking down and putting crap into the carb. Although im not sure if your bike has a fuel filter. Just a guess :D
Maybe the seal on your float bowl was damaged, did you try swapping the jets out from your carb to your friends? Maybe your pilot jet has been damaged.
okay I'm having this same problem. It's missing every time I get on the throttle and it's constantly dripping gas? every drop of gas is completely leaked out
KALEB DA KIDD the gas is leaking out? If so did you play with a screw on the carb ? There's a screw above a hose that lets gas out if opened you may have it open
I have a problem with mine also you cant crank it to save your life and when you finally when ever yaer that is haha you can ride it and it backfire a wholee lot and when ever it decides to choke off you might as well start pushing because it aint starting again! any tips on that what it might be
I had the same problem on my new 2015 kx 450F so I got the 2015 Honda CRF 450R carbator and put it om y kx an I works fine. Kawasaki makes cheat carbators but good bikes.

You still ride?

What's sea foam ? I have the same problem ...my bike only runs with the choke on ?
It's a cleaner you put threw your carb to wash out all old garbage and burns hot to try and burn carbon off the valves

Curtis Sawchik yup, exact same thing. Ur the first I've heard of who had the same problem! lol
We’re did you get the carburetor
@@jupiterjack2672 ebay. I bought a used one. But I think you can buy a new one for $175 on ebay.
If this was the case you would need to do whats called a “full carb rebuild” new throttle body, new jets, new gaskets.

Accelerator pump diaphragm is torn
Had the same problem with a 2005 and just replaced carburetor and she runs fine now
i think i need one 2

The old parts swapper!
Shoulda checked the throttle valve gasket
Its in the carb if its cracked or worn itl do that

i dont know if you have fixed it already but i had the same problem. it is the accelerator pump on the bottom of the carb bowl.
Kodi Kardash I figured it out, it was just the master seal around the bowl
Sam Fricke I got a complete rebuild kit and it turned out to be a seal around the bowl
Like to see it run with new carburetor
Well, nine months later, that bike is long gone. But, I can assure you, with the new carb, it ran excellently.
i had same problem and it was the hot start was stuck on guys#
Mine doesn't start when it's hot do u no what the problem is ? It's had valves adjusted . N new coil
Too rich
Air bleed screw?

Yea, that's the first thing I checked, wasn't it.
Did the bike back fire a lot when it was running
Mine does All the time

Lmfao
15 are fuel injected you ignorant shit
No.. no you didn't. 2015 is fuel injected.
did your air filter have rips and tears or anything like that or there might not be a good seal around the air filter to the air box
Tony Martin kawasaki are not god. No god.
@@christerstefansson6590 and you sound stupid not god!🤔😉
I know the problem. Its a 4 stroke...
What year was your 250F? Thanks
2012
@@Semics5 Thanks, I hope this was corrected on the 2015 models w/ efi
how was the air filter???
85ccmaster The airfilter was great yo...
Did I miss something? You didn't solve the mystery
Yes, you missed something. It was solved with a new carburetor.
Carburetor from were
@Semics5 yeah, but you never took it apart to find what part was bad on the carb?
Accelerator pump... Fucked
Next time film with your camera rite
I love you
