It feels so good to be playing Trails again. I figured that everyone was exaggerating when saying the sequel was better. They were not.
And because of this, there will be A LOT of Trails videos this year. I've fallen down the rabbit hole and I'm never getting out.
Me too. Playing Trails FC now and only about 15 hours in but enjoying the journey. I have a feeling things are going to go places :)
I still remember there is a side quest in the first game that we can help a couple find their missing engagement ring.
We then get to meet them here and there, having their honey moon, travle around the country before they officially married.
Then finally, we get to withness their marriage in the later half of the second game. And they still remeber you helped them before.
By the way, the Loewe and Weissman fights have extra scenes if you bring Agate and Kevin respectively.
And also if you brought kloe, they will talk about politics

@@ionutalexandru3645 Every character has its bit of dialogue from every one of the bosses on that section. Agate and Kevin are just the most relevant ones for Loewe and Weissmann.
I can't get over how good these games are. I just started 3d and at first I was shocked an disappointed that it was such a different experience, but then I started going in the doors and they are extremely generous with the stories. A moon door story can take over an hour. You are almost getting more than in the previous games

SC is definitely in my top 2, maybe top 3, Trails games. Glad it ran over you like a dump truck and far surpassed your expectations, like it did me.
As far as Luciola and her motivations, I would say that it's not something most people are going to relate to directly, but crimes of passion are extremely common. "If I can't have you, no one can." It's very real, too real, even if it sounds dumb on the surface.
The Merciless Savior is an all-time masterpiece to me, up there in the pantheon with Dancing Mad. It takes leitmotifs from several Sky songs up to this point, also does it own thing, has sick solos, and even layers some of these pieces over each other for a true and masterful culmination of your journey that I don't think I've ever experienced before.
Also, I recommend reading the Loewe Monogatari if you haven't. It's kind of long (18-ish issues), but it took Loewe from a character that I only kind of liked, to one that I truly loved.
I showed up as B+ because I missed the cat quest in rolant and oliver was like "B+? eh good enough."
YES FINALLY, and I'm glad you picked Agate, he's by far my favorite trails character and this game is why
SOOOO glad I picked him, the interactions with him and Olivier made it 1000% worth it
This game is just an improvement in every way over FC and the crazy part is this game was my favorite, till I experienced the other games in the series lmao. SC Chapter 5 until Finale was just a blast to play through. Looking forward to your Sky the 3rd video and for future games too(Azure one is going to be supeeer interesting once you get there, my 4th fave game in the series and one of the most intriguing in terms of settings, I LOVE CROSSBELL)
Btw haven't watched the full video yet but who did you pick between Schera and Agate in the beginning? And did you bring Zin and Schera on their final fights against the enforcers they have connections with(since you get special scenes that are only shown if you have them in the party).
I picked Agate and I did bring Schera and Zin to their conclusive enforcer fights 🙏🏾
Did my first playthrough back in the day with Agate for similar reasons also didnt use chaincrafts. However just did my second playthrough on hard to get ready for Reverie using Shera this tine and actually used the chain crafts, they were such life savers lol Zin buffed up and last in the chain was devestating. Lol
I don’t know how much Estelle’s rank actually matters for the Negotiation scene. I got there at C-Rank and it essentially just ended up with Zechs acknowledging “yeah, that’s a high enough rank to have that authority” and the scene proceeds pretty much the same.
Still a really cool scene either way.
Also fuck the Loewe fight. Good god that was unfair
And that's SC, loved the video man. I love SC so much. It really takes a lot for a game to get tears out of me, and SC really just hit home in a lot of places when I played it.
On my replay, I thought the final boss was easy but I also had 9 games under my belt lmao, plus I brought Agate AND Schera and they combo the final boss like crazy lmao.
I love Merciless Savior, it's probably my favorite of the orchestral final boss themes (I prefer the power metal ones, of which there are few lmfao.) But it's a beautiful track, done by the late and great Wataru Ishibashi (The composer of Silver Will, and Sophisticated Fight.) This was Ishibashi's last game to my knowledge and he knocked it out of the park.

On the topic of Luciola though, I know you're not the only one to criticize her motivations, but I feel like this is still a pretty reasonable, and most importantly, human one; we're not always going to react logically to situations, especially when feelings are involved, sometimes people snaps like that, It's exactly because of her darkness that she was recruited into Ouroboros.
One thing I wish occurred, and this is only because future installments built on this, is that I wish you can stack status ailments and buffing quartz.
I think characters like Josette, Anelace, and Zin would have had a much more prominent role in combat. My theory is that they meant for this to occur, but they couldn't code it in due to limitations. To this day, I still think that Josette was meant to be a ranger class, and that Anelac😮e was meant to be a magic swordsman, but they couldn't code it in correctly.
It would definitely explain why some characters quartz lines are so much better than others. It will also explain why some crafts are redundant in a unit's kit.
After playing the first game I already was amazed, after the 2nd I just want to play the complete series hoping to see the amazing characters again while learning to know new characters and more about the world! The 3rd game was weird but all that character moments and those things behind the doors made it worth it, now at Zero and I got this massive joy reaction when 2 characters from the first game shows up, while I already knew that they were there because of the 3rd game!

I just finished this game. Here are a few of my random opinions (controversial!!)
FC is a better game than SC
Agate > Scherazard
5 > 6 > Finale > 7 > 3 > Prologue > 8 > 4 > 1 > 2
I don't care about the random NPCs' stories
This game is almost twice as long as it should've been
Kevin isn't that interesting, but I assume he'll be better in The 3rd
Definitely not a masterpiece, lol. 6/10.
