Ketchup on eggs is very common in Asia where I live. This is a wonderful interview. Sam is in his element and answered all the questions in his usual humorous manner. Poor guy was so hot...literally. I learnt a lot of new information not about his character but the man himself.. kudos on getting him to share.. more like this please... but in a cooler place...
It's very common in Norway too, I have it all the time. But not like Alex suggested..Just in a pan, flip, and paint with ketchup👌
I love ketchup with my fried eggs. It's pretty common where I'm from, Hawaii. I also enjoy ketchup on my hot dog, but there's apparently a whole swathe of Americans who are appalled by that.

Adorable. Sam's accent changes depending on who he's taking with. That happens to me, too. If I speak with folks with certain accents, I find myself automatically sounding more like them.
I love having eggs with ketchup. :) I haven't really explored your channel yet, but you do seem to make people more comfortable and relaxed and ask the right question. All the best & God Bless! If you ever get to talk to Coach Sam again, please tell him that he looks so much like my foster brother, especially when dyes his hair brown. We lost him in Afghanistan but watching Sam reminds me of him all the time.

Scrambled eggs with ketchup is pretty common where I grew up and live
Loved learning about my homeland
I always wanted to know of how my family always eats scrambled eggs with ketsup. None of my friends ever did growing up in Alaska. My Dad lied and said we were only Irish. 40 years later found out we are Scot! Woohoo! Watching the show I've loved seeing Scotland!
All 4 of my sons put ketchup on their eggs. no matter how the eggs are prepared. They also drown their mashed potatoes with ketchup which makes a big pink glob on their plate.
Thanks to Sam, and all who replied. I grew up in Bruce County, ON, Canada, next to Grey County. My mothers people, McKay ( dropped the a in Mac) immigrated from Islay in early 1850. Lots of Scot, English and Irish names and descendants around here. Grew up with very simple food - mostly boiled. Ketchup, mustard and relish were our only condiments. Guess that’s why we put ketchup on mashed potatoes as well as fries!

I think Sam’s interviews make a difference when he’s being interviewed by a friend, and this interviewer does seem to be well known to Sam. I watched the earlier taping of this, and Zane traveled with the production crew & all for SAS: Red Notice. Great interview and Sam seems perfectly comfortable, except for the studio is very warm. No AC maybe!

What was the part , at the end of the interview , about turning the AC back on ? Sam looked flushed and sweaty .
This was so much fun to tune into! Literally resonated with everything you both said. Extremely happy to hear Sam and you are and have been vegan as I've dedicated that last 11 years of my life to this lifestyle. Also, my father eats eggs with ketchup...I wonder about its origin.

@ mokachayna22, @ Trina Raeuber, trying ketchup on eggs is neither "disgusting" or "gross". It's all a matter of personal preference and above all, "to each their own". It isn't even a cultural thing. A great example to compare is someone eating (and even liking) liver or cow's tongue. Ah another would be eating pickled pigs feet; or better yet escargot [snails]. Don't judge someone else's choices. Also, how many people think eating vegetables is gross or disgusting. Just saying!
Sam is adorable and for the record, eating eggs with ketchup is totally acceptable, I do it myself 😄

@JTFPod Alex, This video is riddled with Sam Heughan impostors who are trying to get people to send them emails and such. I have reported them as much as I can. Some people fall for them acting like Sam. :(
I happen to agree with Sam. More intelligent life forms however would give us up as far too primitive to mess with.

My biggest fear was like Sam’s, only I was trapped in a small lift for several hours, by the time the firemen actually freed me I was at melting point with a rather crazed look about me, being only a young woman at the time I was so embarrassed 🙈 as my appearance was one of having just stepped out of a shower fully clothed, I have never been in a lift since, not to mention a toilet I was entombed in for an hour before same procedure, fireman with battering ram, not a lot of room for me and said six foot four giant of a man who had to lift me down off toilet seat In an evening gown dripping with sweat 😥 not romantic at all! 🤭

Oh dear, what has already happened to you. Getting stuck in an elevator must be scary. Very good interview with great questions, there is still a full version of it that I will see too. It's a shame that it was too warm in the studio.
Hi Galway, good interview, but I was gasping for air, as I am claustrophobic, I seem to have been prone to being locked in small spaces most of my child and teenage years, the two incidents I mentioned just happened to be the worst! the toilet was horrendous, it was just a concrete box basically with no window or vent, with a very thick door that was pushed back with a notice on the wrong side saying do not use this toilet, which of cause I didn’t see until it was to late, the rest you know, the worst thing was Alan never missed me for well over an hour, I could have killed him when I found him dancing 💃 with a very attractive blond! you can guess what I looked like!😯

My nephew puts ketchup on his scrambled eggs. No one taught him it. He just likes ketchup and when he had to eat eggs it just seemed natural to him to combine the two. I don’t put ketchup on my eggs but I don’t think it’s gross either.
I have eaten scrambled eggs and catch up it’s very good. I’ve always late and scrambled eggs and fruit preserves and that’s very good. As for getting stuck in a Lyft here recall in an elevator. And I always had that concern until I got stuck in a Lyft! So I press the bell and they came to get me out and they open the door with a crowbar in what I learned is if you get stuck between floors and I open the door part of the opening for the door is always open to another floor and they can pull you out.I don’t know if that’s the same for every left, but I have learned to have a great respect for them. I am still very cautious on them. Because now I know you can get stuck.

What would " salsa" on eggs be considered as? Most salsas are tomato based. . absolutely nothing wrong with ketchup and eggs. A large number of people eat their eggs that way. I being one.

I agree on the only planet thing. It would really be egotistical to believe that ours is the only planet that God populated. That he has no other other interest than our planet.
