    What is your favorite Key Code Software?

      I use lockcodes.com it’s $59 a year subscription which is pretty fair. What I don’t understand why these companies can’t make these systems into an app! I use my iPad for everything and having to carry a laptop for just accessing codes suck. I can log in through my iPhone or iPad on lock codes but it would be nice to have an app.

    Can genericode take a known bitting sequence from a key and use it to find/generate the key code from it? Sort of a backwards approach, but some auto manufacturers require the key code to order spares and the code is often lost or forgotten

    May be a dump question but we purchased a Futura Edge to cut keys at my work. Its amazing machine but since non of us have any locksmith experience we've been operating blind so to speak my questions is when doing the Gcodeonline free trial codes we use are on the website how would I get those codes into the Futura Edge so that we don't have to copy keys and could start cutting my code? Any help you can offer would be great! We are also not looking for a handout so if you have a class, online course, or phone support that would show us how to use the Futura Edge we don't mind paying for support

      @@dashtyATG the software will help fill missing cuts in the event of missing bidding. If you only know a few cuts on a broken key, it can help suggest potential cuts for the remaining cuts if it has enough information.

    What’s the advantage of this over Codesource(Which is a one time purchase and has basically all these features)?

    • @clksupplies
      @clksupplies  4 года назад +2

      lokpikr999, Great question, thanks for asking!
      If you have a desktop and it's easy to get to (out in a van, etc) and don't mind the 1 time upfront expense (lets call it $400+) then going for a desktop program like Codesource is good. This option is the least expensive over the long haul unless you keep the software updated with the new code series although most don't "need" to update every year.
      If you want to be able to pull up codes on your smart phone, always have the latest code information and have a lower upfront cost ($100) then a online version is the way to go.
      I would say the biggest reason that people switch from a desktop software to a online version is the ability to pull up the info on a phone quickly and the next biggest reason is after you spend $400+ on desktop software it's not fun buying updates!
