So my question is: " Is it correct to use the word 'anime' to specifically mean Japanese animated series and Japanese anime movies?"
Honestly to sound more fluent you should almost always omit the "I" if the context is obvious. お水をください is the most "fluent" way I can think of saying it

That’s 水は飲みます you don’t need to say 私 if you don’t mention anyone else as the subject of the sentence

It’s best to use the hiragana and katakana to learn japanese because using romaji doesn’t actually help you with the pronunciation.
