Hello Dr.Nemeth and thank you for making these educational videos. My question is, could this laser procedure save an infected molar that’s been recommended for extraction due to some bone loss? The infection is about 8 months old. Thank you in advance. -Alex
Dr Nemeth. I always have some kind of gap on my top front teeth. After the lanap procedure, I notice those gap seems to be getting closer and closer like as the teeth are coming closer together. I also notice teeth #10 actually touched #9 and no longer have gaps in between them. Have you ever seen such case? It looks like it cosmetically improved my smile by a little.
@@liyagg3457 its been 2 years and I can say my teeth are at a steady state vs before lanap. I did full mouth. With all the numbness, you can barely feel any pain during the procedure. Yes you do get a burning flesh smell because it’s zapping away all the bad tissue around the teeth. Recovery took me about 3 weeks. It’s not bad….for me at least.
@@neeskub8088 I have the same, a gap that developed between my two front teeth. This office spoke of Invisaline which takes time. So, I have already decided I want LANAP. Then I have lost two teeth, one failed crown, other broken tooth extracted now major bone loss. Most of all they say once implant you can't move teeth anymore!! I though I thus have to forego ortho option. I hope I get the same result you speak of.
How much is this procedure & do you guys accept blue cross / keystone first insurance? Im very interested in getting this done, on my gums because they are damaged from that very same issue?
Is it likely that a patient’s periodontal disease is so advanced that traditional surgery would have to be preferred over LANAP? It doesn’t make sense to me that it would be that way, but I’m not a specialized professional, so I need a second opinion (even if it’s only verbally for now)
Bones are unusual cases and rare. My periodontist (who also perform LANAP) says bone rarely grows back even after LANAP. So there’s not much hope there for bone regrowth if you need it. LANAP may just stop things from getting worse if you keep up with oral hygiene. And yes it’s very damn expansive and the doctor gets paid weather if it’s successful or not.
I will do LANAP the next May 13 2020 the cost will be $7500 here in Miami Coral Gables for me is a good price! I hope this procedure can heal my gums .
I have a question and want to see who can actually answer instead of me hearing crickets chirping ->Does the LANAP Protocol actually make class 1 or class 2 mobile teeth stronger like what the doctors and patient testimonials are claiming? I know it’s very successful with making the gums healthy again, but what about mobile teeth??
LANAP is fantastic for treating mobile teeth! We actually have a whole video discussing this topic. The teeth become less mobile because the laser actually stimulates bone growth. If the bone grows back the tooth becomes more stable as a result. However, bone growth is not typical in every case and depends on the individual patient. Check out this video for more info on that 👍 ruclips.net/video/xCrvukH92oM/видео.html
Hi. My gums are now healthy, but many years ago I had gum disease, which caused significant bone loss & gum recession. I heard from a dentist that bone grafts can be done horizontally, but not vertically (which is what I really need). Would the LANAP procedure cause vertical bone growth? Significant parts of the roots of my teeth are exposed & also are quite thinner than the rest of the exposed tooth. Thank you.
I was denied this procedure in Canada. They want me to do cleanings every 3 months instead, even though I have severe recession and deep pockets. I get it that I should get frequent cleanings, but every 3 months is too much. And I don't think that will be enough to heal and grow my gums at my age.
I have been told the same Then I saw the Perio with a wait and see approach. Now I need two dental implants and they have to graft bone. Also that implants are know to advance gum disease. People here reporting gum/bone loss post LANAP is contrary to the whole point of LANAP....?! Now the presents quite a dilemma.
I just had this done 2 days ago. Very little discomfort. I didn’t even need any pain meds. I had the right side done. Going back in two weeks for the left side 😬🫢
In my country it is not available LANAP but instesd doctor use diffrent protocol and laser. They use waterlade produced by company named fotona from Sovenia. The prococol is folliwing firs they use laser on 2700 manometers that remove infected tissue and calculus ( so there no need to use ultrasound after laser on 2700 nm and after they use laser on different mode it is 810 nanometers to help disinfection and healing the tissue and attachment to the teeth. What do you think about that protocol? Is that safe and possible to clean the infected tissue and calculus so that ultrasound is not needed?
