First off, never justify the money they bring to Canada when as of today, Canadians are suffering the high cost of living and shortage of housing. The money they bring to Canada that they voluntarily paid at the pretense of being a student brings NO benefit to the health, jobs and shelter of Canadians as of today therefore useless. Only colleges are making the big bucks. No one twisted their arms to come to Canada and dish their money out. No one is looking down on them. What Canadians are saying is - don’t come, or if you’re disapproved for permanent residency, then go. It’s the fact of the law. You wanna come to Canada to live and work? Sure. Apply for an immigrant visa. The problem is, you tell them not to come because life is tough -THEY STILL DO and RISK everything. Well- that’s ON THEM!
@@USA-CANADA1480Agree. The government should keep the IS program but without all the benefits they are currently enjoying like free health care and free school for kids, and remove allowed work hours. Then, only those with real intention to study will be left. And they can bring their family if they can afford to without affecting Canadian life. Without work they don't need to pay tax, well, other than HST which is fair as everyone pays HST. School takes all their tuition. Government gets nothing, and gives nothing. That's a fair deal. Relative to the immigration consultant's argument against the promise of IS' to return to their home country after their study about 'dual intention', she just basically said that lying is fine. And to top that off, you are advising your so called dual intention to your clients yet you admitted that you did not even do it during your own application.
Nope. Didn’t say that. 😅 I do not advise doing so to clients. Like I said, it’s their decision, at the end of the day. I tell them that applying for a Study Permit is temporary, so proving temporary intention is necessary. But should they have a chance to apply for PR, they can, because dual intention is perfectly legal in Canada. 😊
Maybe you are not aware there are 'student pathways' to PR. If the provincial goverments have them, it's not lying if you didn't state that you are not going back to your home country, because you will still be assessed whether or not you will leave Canada after your studies, and you will have to still be qualified for the pathway.
Submitting an application in any pathway is better than wishing to get PR without doing something. The question is how badly you really want it. Madami kasi gusto maPR Pero not exerting any effort or waiting for something to happen na Wala naman effort na ineexert para maPR.

5:49 in defense of those who say “it’s a shortcut”, they mean that you can enter Canada (and hope all chips fall in place) quite more quickly than applying for an Immigrant Visa via Outland consular processing, which frankly I rarely hear about these days - because it’s an unpopular path since the wait time is way too long - THAT’S the SHORTCUT they are talking about, which NO ONE is saying is illegal, instead just plain risky to maneuver and expensive these days.
It’s easy to say things like, “Oh, now it’s difficult to enter and even harder to get permanent residency,” especially if you haven’t gone through the process yourself and were simply brought over by your spouse. It comes off as bitter, especially when it’s said as hearsay like DAW, DAW, DAW.
The student pathway is not a shortcut, it's rather a long cut but effective way of increasing your competitiveness to meet the high cutoff score. Also both will still go on the express entry or provincial nominee. There is nothing wrong to level up yourself.
@@paoloincanada so if it is a long cut why don’t they apply for the almighty immigrant visa for Canada which is less expensive MIGHT I ADD and you don’t have to dish out $20k? I doubt it.
@@USA-CANADA1480ideally if you are going for the student pathway, you have already assessed your CRS score for express entry and likely you may be in the pool but may have a low score based on the draw that is being done. Thus you take the student pathway to gain more education, (studying in Canada gets you more points) and eventually work (experience working in Canada also gets you more points) also qualifies you for Canadian experience class entry. So it is a long cut because if you have the existing CRS score for the points already, you won't need need to do the student pathway. They will still need to apply via express entry in the end or any other pathway they qualify. Studying in Canada is not a pathway on its own thus it is a long cut. Hope I explained it clearly.
