    This is a Masterpiece, not only about Django/Python, but also about how someone should teach programming. No background music + No mumbling + No interruption + No face on the top/bottom of the screen (we don´t wanna see your faces, we wanna see the CODE!!). Keep up with the good work mate!! You have produced some outstanding tutorial!! Many thanks all the way from Brazil !!

    This video is pure gold! It deserves millions of views!
    During my internship at a company, we completed the paperwork but did zero actual work. I needed a project to showcase what I had learned during my internship, especially since it was mandatory for our class. I remember how happy I was when I stumbled upon this video. Python is my go-to programming language, so I decided to try building this CRM app. It took me around 10-12 hours, but I enjoyed every second! Your instructions and explanations were incredibly clear. The most important thing is the amount of knowledge I gained while working on this project.
    In the end, I customized the project to fit the topic related to my internship. My exam was yesterday, and I passed! Thank you so much-you really saved me!
    For anyone familiar with Python, OOP, basic web development, and wanting to learn Django through project-based learning, this video is the best option.

    An almost excellent tutorial 9.5 out of 10. I especially like the fact that you explain the logic and structure of things, not just "click this" -- I took off .5 from perfect because I frequently had to stop and rewind bits.

    Very nice tutorial. Questions: Why you didn't use 'exclude' rather than 'include' for exposing form fields? Also, for reducing duplicity, why not to create base form class for create/update forms? And the last one: why not to put directly into the base template?

      @@CloudWithDjango It's going great except for one thing so far: My project looks like it's having a problem with the {% load static %} portion of the tutorial. I get a 404 error in the source of the page when I run it. What's odd is that the
      ```
      {% load static %}
      {% block content %}
      {% endblock %}
      ```
      code is white, not color coded like the rest of the base.html code. Is there something I forgot to install or update? I even named all the files the same as the tutorial to keep it clear.

    • @njineermike
      @njineermike 11 месяцев назад

      Fixed it. I needed to add the second crm directory I accidentally added in.
      STATICFILES_DIRS = [
      BASE_DIR / "crm/static",
      ]
      Because I'm an idiot sometimes. Now I just have to figure out how to move everything up one directory and delete the redundant crm directory without completely ruining my project.

    • @CloudWithDjango
      @CloudWithDjango  11 месяцев назад

      Hi there,
      No worries at all. Yes, directory structure is very important, it's very easy to get lost at times.
      No worries, you aren't an idiot, I make silly mistakes all the time and I've been coding for over a decade haha
      I see, yes well you should do what you feel is best for your application. I'd just kindly suggest that if you have a problem in the future that you refer to the final project source code explicitly and exactly as is.
      All the best to you!

      @@CloudWithDjango I'm actually a control systems software engineer, but this is a new thing for me. I haven't done anything HTML or web related since college in the 90's. I'm working on a raspberry pi DAQ for a remote pollution control station with a web-based intranet login for access to the data. Having to redo it for me is actually working better. I forked the github repository, and that helps more than you can imagine, but the typing and having to work within the different sections of the files seems to be better through the repetition.
      For the directory issue, I was staring at the github repro and had no idea what was wrong until I saw what was staring me right in the face. I'd placed static UNDER crm/crm, instead of just crm/static. One of those, "it's blatantly obvious after you notice it" things.
      Your teaching style is fantastic, so doing a few times is really helping me catch small nuances and get a better understanding of the interaction of the different files. Right now I'm working on using the bootswatch, bootstrap, node.js, and popper from local installs instead of URLs. It's in a remote location with no internet access (cell phones don't even work there) and they're not going to pay for a satellite link. I'm not really comfortable with the local users having to go into the OS and copy or move things around, so it's a headless system they'll only have access to the login and report generation software. This is perfect for that as soon as I get it working the way I need it to work.
      Thanks a lot for putting this out there. I'll probably be signing up for some of your Udemy courses as well.

      Hi,
      Thank you for your feedback.
      We partially do it in python with django messages. However, if you want to have a nice effect it would be more appropriate to add in javascript with it. You can't really add an animated timeout with python from my understanding.

    In the 1:25:45 time you explained how to get the right CDN for JS. I see currently Bootstrap is using version 5 in which jQuery is not supported anymore. They also provide the popper and JS in a bundle, but there is no CDN for jQuery. I tried both the bundle CDN and individual links, I also tried with the current jQuery link and without it. but using them doesn't make the dropdown navbar to work. I ended up using the older CDN links that you have used. Do you know any solution for fixing the dropdown navbar for Bootstrap version 5 without jQuery?

      @CloudWithDjango  10 месяцев назад

      Hi there,
      Thank you for reaching out and for providing context.
      Yes, so for now an easy solution to move things forward would be to download and refer to the final project source code for what is required. The respective GitHub links will be available in the description where you can find what is required.
      So for clarity. In Bootstrap 5, jQuery is no longer a dependency for components like dropdowns, so you won't need it to make the dropdown navbar work. Instead, Bootstrap 5 relies on vanilla JavaScript and native browser functionality for its components.
      Just some further advice for using bootstrap 5 without Jquery. Ensure your HTML markup for the navbar includes the necessary Bootstrap 5 classes for dropdown functionality.
      Check your browser's console for any JavaScript errors that may be preventing Bootstrap's JavaScript from running correctly. Include Bootstrap's JavaScript bundle (bootstrap.bundle.min.js) or individual JavaScript files just before the closing tag. Ensure that you're using the latest version of Bootstrap 5 from a reliable CDN.
      I hope that gives you some insight and direction!
      Good luck!

    my question is : Is it necessary to use Django-crispy-form because i already have my front-end and in my CRM i have so many forms with so many diff fields . How i can use my html forms instead of Django-crispy ones. Please help me out. Thank you so much.

      Yes, you can use your existing HTML forms in Django without using Django-crispy-forms by manually handling form rendering and validation in your views.

    I have a doubt regarding that, when we create a new account as you created manager2 account there, then why after the completion of account it's showing the records of manager1? It should be blank so that the user who have created the new account can add his own entries, but in this web-app it's showing the same old entries of the another user who has already that same information. why so?

    but here multiple users can see the same dashboard, can we create unique dashboard for each user?

    • @CloudWithDjango
      @CloudWithDjango  10 месяцев назад

      Hi,
      Yes, the idea is that managers/users can view and access customer records like in a portal for management.
      If you'd want it more unique then you can perhaps create another model and link it as a foreign key to that particular user. You don't need to create another dashboard for this.
