Agh i can't learn Korean over the internet that's too darn hard and I can't remember anything. I need a teacher. But I don't wanna socialize. I even know what to do
nyah nobody try learning on an app. I've been learning through Memrise. This is really helpful as it gives you the pronunciation and little videos from native speakers. There's no socializing at all! As someone who is really awkward at socializing, this was a plus. Besides that, use post it notes! Put them around your house with the hangul version, the romanization (if that helps) and then the English. Listen to kpop songs and read the captioning in kpop variety shows! Hope this helps!
@@tkkravee Memrise is very good and it's the only one that ever worked with me. I've been trying to learn Korean on and off for 8 years now by myself with no one to practice on and it's really hard to talk to people. I even bought Talk to me in Korean books, studied online, tried flashcards, but nothing seemed to help it stick. Memrise is no joke and it's worth the money, free apps just don't cut it tbh. I still can't quite learn it because I get overwhelmed easily and still think learning from someone would be better than trying to teach myself. But I also want to share a trick I came across and it really helps you with your pronunciation. If you go to google and type Korean to English and try to say a word or a phrase you will get the right translation when you say it right. So for instance say you're watching a kdrama and you hear a phrase you want to memorize, go to google and click the microphone and say it in Korean, it may take a few times but it really helps you to know when you are saying it right or not. Once you get it right click the playback, speaker like button to hear the Korean translator say it and once again try the phrase a few times to make sure you've got it. It really works and you can consider it as a teacher of sorts that hears you and corrects you. I hope this also helps. Btw hi fam, love your Baekhyun dp!

It could also be pronounced Mirel (like Michelle with an R sound) in English. I need advise on how to actually spell and pronounce my name in Korean. I'm at a loss.
Hi! I have a question! My name is Jagoda [as Yagoda] which means Blueberry! Is it good to translate my name into korean? Or just write it down like it should be said?
Why is it different?😭 I tried the "My name is ..." at Google translate but it's different and I tried it at a korean learning app it's different... 😭😭😭 How am I going to learn korean....😰
the usual response to this is if you know Japanese this is easier to learn... I agree but then again I also know some Japanese.. I guess it depends on onyour processing skills when learning. I actually found it easier than Japanese and taught myself to read it.. can't understand most of it and it's taken me a year to get this far... I just like to torture myself i guess haha!
Korean is one of the most difficult languages to learn. I never believed these words but seeing how it's been 8 years that I'm still trying to teach myself Korean I believe it now. To me Japanese is hard compared to Korean but at the same time it's hard because one letter off and it can easily sound like a whole other word. I found a trick to help me with my pronunciation is Google. If you go to google and type 'Korean to English' and say a word or a phrase you will get the correct translation only when you say it right. So for instance say you're watching a kdrama and you hear a phrase you want to memorize, go to google and click the microphone and say it in Korean, it may take a few times but it really helps you to know whether you are saying it right or not. Once you get it correct click the playback, a speaker like button to hear the Korean translator say it and once again try the phrase a few times to make sure you've got it. It really works and you can consider it as a teacher of sorts that hears you and corrects you. You might also write down the phrase/word in hangul, the romanization, what it means, and also your own version of how to say it so you can look at it and say it just like that. That's what I had to do. You might also try the app Memrise, it's the only one that ever helped me get far.
Everyone has normal names and such but what happens if you have a name that is a color. Do you say it or do you have to translate your name? I mean native Americans can't even pronounce my name right much less a foreigner? Like I'm sure they have no problem saying Ashley or Amy, but would it be difficult to say a name like Auburn? Although if you think about it it could sound like a Korean word, like 'Apeun' or something. I've always wondered this but could never find it online. My name isn't exactly ordinary...Although on SNS I'm called Nini so it's probably easier to have someone call me that instead. When I went to Korea that's how I was called.
names arent translated like that, even if yours can be. to correctly translate your name you need to romanize it first so it corresponds to the rules of hangul and then write it in hangul is your name auburn? sort of a tricky name since it has an r in it romanized: ah - beu - n written in hangul: 아븐 theres not really a room for the r placed in there. like my name is carter and in hangul its hard to translate because you cant add r's to the end of a syllable so i kinda had to improvise with Ka-teo which is written as 커터 in hangul
