Old school “liberal” from the bay area (marin county ) same county and city tupac was from lol He just didn’t pander or say nice words he also led by his actions ! This is what they won’t tell you except the fact he didn’t run the ball ! Saban , Prime etc etc could never lol
Facts.. he been in the trenches with them members and then he gets the respect he deserves because he’s in the trenches pushing football and not the streets.. most the guys feel like they never get noticed
Much Respect to Pete! He came to my school Crenshaw High in the late 2000s to recruit football players and it was a surreal moment. He really be in the trenches.
He went from Boston with his previous job, to California with his next job, and did not miss a beat adjusting to the culture. That’s incredibly impressive considering how vastly different both areas are
Pete recruited my boy James Boyd Who was indeed from grape street Watts James ended his career at unlv but was one of the best ballers to ever come out of LA Jordan… he came out class of 09 !
Years ago i heard people say (paraphrasing)"pete was untouchable in the toughest neighborhoods in LA. Guys knew not to fuck with him cuz he was the best chance for young black men to get out of the hood. He could just pull up, alone, to compton and be welcomed like a hero."
You'll be surprised. Several of them have and still do. You just don't hear about it in the media. Especially back in the day before social media. For example, look how long ago this happened and you're just now hearing about it.
Allot of rich and prominent white people don't have that kind of compassion and genuine concern for black youth. MUCH RESPECT AND LOVE TO COACH CARROLL !
@@LostintheHate Very true but most blacks don't have the connections like Coach Carroll does. Pete can pull a few strings and literally facilitate a new career path for individuals that don't believe that there is an alternative to the streets.
Lou Tice is a good dude. Did a lot for the rainier beach community and the south end of Seattle. He lived in the hood. He let me and the homies go fishing off his private dock in the summers.
Wow, amazing, like many I did not know. He was a real stand up guy for doing this. The fact that many of us didn't know about this proves how genuine he was. These days, no one can do any act of charity or good deed without having 10 cameras on the scene filming the deed and then posting it on social media to show the world what a 'great' person you are.
Imagine all these politicians weren’t so damn fake and actually went out to do things like this! Pete was heaven sent, this man was fearless and knew exactly what he had to do! He took action and made it happen!
Is that not a better path? A college education and a spot on a collegiate football roster? If things benefit both parties it’s really not sinister. If anything he helped save people in the community around the college he coached at.
@@tylerjones5197 Business move more then anything …. As for the Super Bowl , he showed what type of person he was . There’s no way he wanted beastmode to have that moment .
Before even watching the video I can see where Pete would drop some gangs prolly some gs so they could look out for and protect some of his top prospects throughout the years.
Tbh it’s smart LA 101 you gotta check in and have someone protecting you Pete new his players was gonna be outside so once they dropped the usc name it let the players get a pass
Had no idea Pete Carroll was doing this much work in the community. That’s beautiful man. Big respect.
That’s what makes him a real one. It wasn’t highly publicized. He was doing real work. Legend.
