Doesn't the steel wool go in the baffle?
It goes in the bottom of the can.
@@thewatcher8773some steel wool goes in the little unscrew baffle to act as a filter and some in the bottom of the can to help the oil settle out in the can
So the "IN" goes near the intake and the "OUT" will be coming from the motor ?
Your lines are not backwards? That's how it goes? Are you having any issues and are you collecting anything?
That’s what I was thinking, the intake side would be the suction (out) side not “in” as it is connected here. Air should be pulled in over the baffle to condense and then drip to canister as air is pulled through. Either way I’m sure it works though. I have the same one and that was my frustration with it that it seemed to be set up backwards to prevent the hoses from crossing.
@@chrisgassettandalejocruz5545 I installed one on my truck.... It works great for me
@@chrisgassettandalejocruz5545 just a quick question. the (in )side gets connected to the pcv valve side with the hose right?
yes it's backwards, I got the same one and later got the mishimoto copy because of the hoses orientation
for mustang passanger side installation you want a catch can with intake on the right side and output on the left side so you don't have to cross the lines
there is also a similar mishimoto model with 3 holes (output between 2 intake holes) so you can choose the correct orientation...available in cheap knockoffs as well (not really a knockoff as both are made in china so most likely comes from the same factory)
@@aldee3018 Catch can IN comes from PVC side and dumps through the baffle / steelwool in this case. Catch can OUT goes to the intake. Yes it would be nice to have very basic instructions. The can will work either way but . . . .
Everytime you say RTR, you immediately turn into a Japanese Anime, when you do the "Spec 2"
ありがとうMadnigerian!!
how different is a cheaper catch can compared to a mishimoto catch can?
There is different baffles and increased filters such a better mess inside a premium product like the mishimoto. These work fine, however, a more premium product will catch a bit more of the blow by. Engineering Explained has a very good video on the inner workings of cheap vs expensing catch cans.
Oh, question, why didnt u opt for the one with a filter on top
Because the stock system does not vent the crank case out and simply recycles it, I wanted to stick with that. Also, I read that in some areas breathers will not pass inspection due to venting essentially pollution back out to the atmosphere.
You don't want a filter, this is a sealed vacuum system. It'll run horribly if you do
wouldn't a filter just like a breather? I mean at that point I'll just install breathers
Any issues in the cold weather
We don't really have any cold weather here in the Houston area. During the short time that it was cold, the car never left the garage.
Wow, three years ago $12.....$31 now but still very cheap to decarbinize your motor ..😮
He said it was $12 because he had an Amazon credit to go toward it. They are $23 and change with a coupon right now.
