For the time being if you just make it darker in the corners of the water then add some white of top where the waves would be you can get pretty good wwter
My mom always loved luna moths. When she passed, a luna moth flew into the funeral home as our family was leaving after the visitation. My sister and I are convinced it was a message to let us know that Mama was happy, and that she loved us. So I definitely appreciate moths and I am always reminded of my mother and her love whenever I see one.
Mira Byler hiiii! I know I probably sound stupid asking this, since I could just search it up on the internet! lol, but I just wanna ask what is a gesso board?
Oh my goodness I hope you find your sketchbook!!!! Oh wow I love that you changed the words on the screen from white to black with white outline!! So much easier to read!!! Thank you!!! Send that weather over here to Arizona!!!! I'm hot!!! Oh wait - but no storms that blow stuff around and take out the electricity!!! I love your water paintings!! I think a 6x6 canvas is as small as I would go. I can barely see those tiny watercolors you did last year. But I remember that video!! Oh my gosh you found your sketchbook!! YAY!!! I thought it was gonna be in your husbands car. You have a good day too. 😁
Aww Mira, it is ok that you lost your sketchbook. It happens to people all the time, when they loose something valuable to themselves. Don’t stress!!! Everything is gonna be alright and at least we are all healthy and happy!
I honestly think that the size that you are painting on is normal for me, because I usually paint on that size, I also have done a few paintings on 2 by 2 canvas sizes. Also, you are so good at painting water. I am definitely going to need a lot more years of practice to be as good as you.
I paint already a few years on cards. It exists already a zillion years... also like on puzzles and dominoblocks etc. These all were painted on the minute they exsist...
My favourite moth is, and had always been, the lunar moth. I used to live up in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada, and we got SO many beautiful moths on our window screens at night that I would go around the house and observe them. I once saw a moth that was all different kinds of browns with these two giant red circles, that I'm sure are supposed to mimick eyes, and the little guy was nearly the size of my face! It was MASSIVE! I had never seen a moth so huge. I tried finding it online, and I haven't seen it anywhere yet. Another moth type, that was a lot less rare, that I really enjoyed watching was this species that looked like a fighter jet! That one is a light brown/yellow colour ^-^. I prefer butterflies just because I am a fan of bright and jewel tone colours, and I have a weakness for the swallowtail shape. That said, I love moths too. They absolutely gave a special place in my heart. About your traveling to Canada, if you ever visit either Toronto, or Haliburton (the later is VERY forested) let me know! I'm happy to be a tour guide, health depending. I will only take you to well populated areas, for safety, I never want people to think I'm anything less than kind and genuine, and I can take you to places that are both touristy and favourites of a local family. Speaking of family, it would be my fiance, my son, and me that would be hosting the tour, as I'm in a wheelchair and I need my fiance to push me, and my son isn't quite old enough to spend a whole day home by himself, yet. Yay family outing fun! If it's Halitown (Haliburton) which I doubt, but at the same time think you would not only prefer to Toronto, but absolutely LOVE, I'd show you around the town proper and give you as much info as I could about the wilderness and things to do there. Honestly I think you would absolutely die from loving living there so much, if you did. It's not only a wonderland of lakes and forests, but it's a quiet tourist town, AND they have an art college there called Sir Sandford Flemming, that offer credited art courses that span from fine arts to things like guitar building! I lived there for years and every video of yours that I watch reminds me so much of Haliburton.
Ahh, it’s so wonderful to meet someone else with such a dear appreciation for Lepidoptera!! Thanks for sharing. Also, your town sounds BEAUTIFUL!! We were planning to go to Montreal, and thankfully we were refunded and given flight credits toward our next trip. The forests in Halitown sound amazing. I’ll definitely keep that it mind!! 💕
Aww sorry that your Montreal trip was canceled. I hope when things are better you get to visit. There so much to do here (I live on the north shore of Montreal). I'm sure you'd enjoy the Insectarium.
I am so happy 😃 that I came across your channel! For a loner like me, finding a subject to 🎨 paint is not very easy. You have inspired me so much! It’s my observation that you have been so blessed both with talent and the ability to bring out my talent. I look forward to your success and future video! Love 💕 ya!
I was thoroughly expecting part two of the 1-2in paintings and was a bit surprised at the 6in boards for "tiny" painting ideas. And I loved the flashback to the earlier video I was thinking of!
6 by 6 is small to me. The older 1 inch paintings are tiny. I agree, moths are beautiful. Each piece is great. =) I’m really glad you found your journal. =)
Hi Mira, I'm happy you found your sketchbook. Thunderstorms make me nervous too. I began acrylic painting last year. I bought small canvas panels, 5 x 7. Right now I have up to 8 x 10. I do have bigger canvas pads, Watercolor is something I started this year. Lots of crafting and art time this year. I love it all. Oh, I subscribed about two months ago, maybe only one. Time has been so odd this year. Anyway since then I've been binge watching your channel. Thanks for the fun and art tips and ideas.
I hope you find your sketchbook Mira! Not going to lie I voted for tiny paintings so I'm a happy wee bee! 😆 I can't get enough of your sunshine personality. Stay safe and have a wonderful day! 🥰
The additional mention of the tiny watercolor paintings was the best ! That was the first video I ever saw of yours after watching another video it popped up and I was like that seems cool and here I am a hear later still a huge fan !
Hi Mira. Needle-nose pliers in your art station will help open paints. When they're newly opened, put some saran wrap over the tops before you cap them again. That'll do it. :) Waiting for my pins and washi to come in! XD Oh! And most of my paintings are from 4x6 in to 12x12! So that's more medium to me, like you suggested. :)
I started messing around with color using watercolor pencils and watercolor brush pens.... Didn’t seem so overwhelming. I love watercolor for background colors in my journals.
(I'm not an artist and) I use watercolour pencils in such an unusual way! I dip in the pencils (over and over) in water and use them directly on my paper! No brushes involved!
I expected the paintings to be at least 4 times smaller lol. I do love the paintings though. So glad he found your sketchbook!! To answer your question, that 6 by 6 I would see as somewhat as a standard but still on a smaller side but tiny imo is way smaller than just small. I just need to grow a lot first before I’m going to grab for my 8 by 10 canvasses than I’ve had since the beginning of my adult art journey. Also love watercolor more instead of acrylics just because the clean-up is a lot less energy-consuming and I tend to go on too long so that’s a problem when using acrylics. So those canvasses will be waiting for a long while though. Never dared to use my oil paints because I can’t get in the vicinity of those chemicals and with all the paint I have, can’t justify spending money on water-soluble yet.
Loved this video! I would say that 6x6 is a little bigger than my medium. I paint A4 size as BIG and 6x4 as medium, anything smaller than that is wee! I find it interesting how different artists prefer different sizes. Also interesting is that when I am painting digitally, I prefer the biggest screen possible and the ability to zoom in to make it even bigger haha! Now I wanna go paint!
It’s so funny, The first painting(s) I was ever paid for was several I did for my grandfather and his presents for my sister and cousins. They were little tiny watercolors for their doll houses that he was making for them. So he gave me a little 1“ x 2“ wood framed watercolor paper “Canvases” and I painted one abstract two landscapes and a doggy portrait. I earned a whole $10! These days 4 x 4 is tiny for me big is 3‘ x 6‘ I would love to see your big like that. Keep working keep creating and keep being yourself! Have a lovely day.
I paint in acrylics on rocks...so they're pretty small. When I painted in watercolor, the majority of my work was a quarter sheet (sometimes smaller). So tiny, is relative - but the watercolors you showed would qualify. Either way, your work is beautiful.
Mira,I ❤️ your channel..I recently got the HIMI gouache set because you and alot of other people on RUclips were talking about it and it sounded interesting..I've never tried gouache, and that set seemed like a good place to start..I've gotten alot of inspiration watching your channel and I also wanted to tell you that my cat watches your videos too..she isn't interested in most stuff I watch, but there's something about your videos that she likes because when I'm watching one of your videos, she will jump up on the bed and watch with me..she is mesmerized 😺😸
My favorite size to work with is 5x7 so it's normal for me. Haha Gorgeous water piece and moths are always good! So many gorgeous moths!! Last one makes me wanna visit Cali again, so you captured it well. xD
6x6 is a good size. I bought some 3x2 canvases from the dollar tree and i actually prefer painting smaller paintings because I don't have to come up with such a huge painting and be overwhelmed by it
Long comment warning: First, this is very tiny to me. I started painting 2d images in college and my professor had us make 3 ft by 4 ft stretcher bars. I learned to love painting in that class and have always painted large because of it. Usually my go to is 16 x 20. So 6x6 is soooo tiny! But I do a lot of sketching and mixed media in a 9 x 12 sketchbook. Second, more Blubbleflies please. Mine was one of the orders you packed. I bought every Blubblefly item plus the create kindness pin. I reaaaallllyyyy need a Blubblefly mug, mouse pad and anything else you can stick a Blubblefly on. Plus, can you do a Blubblefly video? Can you tell I'm obsessed? They are just the happiest little creatures ever in the world! I love them so much! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

I loved the moth (of course!) 😊❤️ But the crashing wave was also really inspiring! I've always wanted to be able to paint water but been really intimidated by it :s You've made me want to look into these different paint boards though! 😊❤️
I think I’m going to try a moth painting, yours looked so nice! 🥰 I have some canvases I’ve been too afraid to use in fear of wasting them, because I don’t really know how to use acrylic paint 😅 I normally do my art on small paper, I cut my 11x15 sheets into fourths; that way if I don’t end up liking the art, I don’t feel like I’ve wasted my supplies 😅

Dungeons and dragons 🐉 I wanna play 😞 Can you be any cooler. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ As for the sketchbook it’s probably somewhere you haven’t looked 🤪 My mom used to tell me that all the time. And I was always like😒 duh 🙄 Good luck with the sketchbook. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That reminds me of the saying "it's always in the last place you look" and how my dad would always say "well yeah, cause if you find it, you stop looking..." lol
You lied to us! lol ^.~ You just wanted to go traveling instead of doing the cover I feel so betrayed hehe. LOVED these, I remember when you did the tiny water color ones =) I tried them as well... You always inspire me to want to paint, so thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
Mira, I'm a beginner and would love to watch a quick tips and tricks or tutorial of how to draw water. I love your water paintings
Same!

Me after cleaning my hella messed up art closet: I found one...is it yours?
Haha! I love this 😂🥰
Thats too funny

Video idea: You could paint a deck of cards, it looks really cute and it's fun to do! I'm currently working on a disney set :D
Have a good day xx
Is the idea from Moriah Elizabeth❔
She did a video to do when your bored and she painted on cards not to be mean👍🏼☺️
Makena i believe it originated from tiktok
Savannah Penta ok thanks
I paint already a few years on cards. It exists already a zillion years... also like on puzzles and dominoblocks etc. These all were painted on the minute they exsist...

Tiny is a very relative thing.. so true, one of my favorite artist painted on a bean! Yup a teeny tiny lentil!!! So tiny is pretty relative 🤩🤩
A BEAN?! That is so cool!!!
Mira Byler yuuup ! Her name is Lorraine Loots, she’s a miniature artist from Cape Town 🐜
Waves splashing can be SO hard to paint but you killed it! 🙌🏼🌊🌊
Thanks David! I hope you're doing well!

Dnd is awesome! Glad the sketchbook was found! Fun video, looking forward to the custom cover. Fun video thanks.

I voted for tiny paintings so I was super happy to see the title!!
The size you're painting is huge for me since my normal paper size is 9 by 9 cm ... I absolutely love your art and videos
I'm so glad your sketchbook turned up in the end!
I really liked this video idea, thank you for posting it!

I love the water! Beautiful! Will you make prints of that? So awesome!

The moth is beautiful 😍
Your painting is fantastic!❤️
I'm actually happy because I voted for tiny paintings
Omg she looks just like how I would imagine Charlotte to look like from TID!
Thanks Mira. You lifted my spirits today. Appreciate it, and all the work you put into your videos. ✌🏻💜✨🌈 Hope you have a good day as well.
Thank you! Back at ya! 💜
My favorite size to work with is 5x7 so it's normal for me. Haha Gorgeous water piece and moths are always good! So many gorgeous moths!! Last one makes me wanna visit Cali again, so you captured it well. xD
My tiny is ATC sized cards, that’s about as small as I go. But I do love that 6x6 size its one of my favourites for painting galaxies.
Wow this is very awesome 😉😉
6x6 is a good size. I bought some 3x2 canvases from the dollar tree and i actually prefer painting smaller paintings because I don't have to come up with such a huge painting and be overwhelmed by it
I looooovvvvvveeee your videos
Your paintings are amazing!! Also, I hope you find your sketchbook!!
I wish I could like this 50 times!! I so enjoyed the video!!!
I love mini painting! Tfs
I love your videos ❤🥺👍
This video really really inspired me !!!!! You art is really amazing !!!!! Thank you so much !!
that water looks great 🙂I think the smallest I've worked is ATC size which still took forever to create something that size
pretty heavy storm, freaked the dog out 😛glad you found your sketchbook
I luv your videos, they are always so good. And I am planing on getting some of your merch soon.
Hi Mira. Youre so amazing.... hope youll drop by denmark on your future teip to europe..... it would be an honor to se you vlogging from here.... and tbh you rock all styles......💜💜

I love ur art Mira :D my favorite things to paint are animals and landscape and with color pencils I draw realism so ye god bless youuu ♥️
You're so talented
I loved the moth (of course!) 😊❤️ But the crashing wave was also really inspiring! I've always wanted to be able to paint water but been really intimidated by it :s
You've made me want to look into these different paint boards though! 😊❤️

Youre a beauty❤❤
Yayy!! This was the video I wanted
YES!!! I was waiting for another video.
Woot!!
I'm so jealous of this storm! Ugh!!! I love loud storms. I wish they were everyday. Really. I love them. Btw did you ever find your sketchbook?
Yay! This is the video I voted for
I think I’m going to try a moth painting, yours looked so nice! 🥰 I have some canvases I’ve been too afraid to use in fear of wasting them, because I don’t really know how to use acrylic paint 😅
I normally do my art on small paper, I cut my 11x15 sheets into fourths; that way if I don’t end up liking the art, I don’t feel like I’ve wasted my supplies 😅
If you end up not liking it you can paint over your canvas and start fresh, but I'm sure what you make will be great!
You should tape all your super tiny watercolor paintings together and frame it. Or glue them all into a sketchbook.
Your amazing
Yessss, last week I bought 3×3in canvas but don't know what to do, Thanks
Ahh yay! Have fun!!
🥰 I’m excited for this cause I’m not feeling inspired right now 😐
Tip for art block. If you have a book of animals then just go through the book and you have 1 min and 30 sec to sketch that animal. It's pretty fun and relaxing!
That bear one was tiny
But 6x by 6x is medium for me
She is so pretty
Dungeons and dragons 🐉 I wanna play 😞
Can you be any cooler. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As for the sketchbook it’s probably somewhere you haven’t looked 🤪
My mom used to tell me that all the time. And I was always like😒 duh 🙄
Good luck with the sketchbook.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That reminds me of the saying "it's always in the last place you look" and how my dad would always say "well yeah, cause if you find it, you stop looking..." lol
I'd always start looking for something else and find the thing i was looking for before but not the current thing i was looking for
Me: Yassss! Mira's gonna explain how to paint nature!
Mira: *goes on a tangent about water*
😂😂😂
Water technically is nature so.
My favorite one was moth painting 🖼🎨
Happy belated birthday Mira
Mira should do a video on testing Dollar Tree Art Supplies
How boring can being bored be
EDIT: I'm not saying this video is boring I love it
You lied to us! lol ^.~ You just wanted to go traveling instead of doing the cover I feel so betrayed hehe. LOVED these, I remember when you did the tiny water color ones =) I tried them as well... You always inspire me to want to paint, so thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
When you wanted this video more then the other one 😂 but I fill bad for the people that wanted it live your videos!
