      @@jackdub07 its surprising after this was revealed on BCN i viewed Senator Josh Hawley questioning in the US Govt an official who could not answer as to why businesses like Lowes and Walmart were left open and Churches were closed during COVID. This inspired me to think could this be the same reason yet Alberta overlooked and now leading to Lawsuits.

      Perhaps, but lying is only a symptom and a financial consequence will change nothing. Do we only go after the political types, who really just follow orders? What about the doctors, the lawyers, the police, the colleges/universities, the business owners and at minimum, more than fifty percent of the populations whose stupid soft heads just went along with the nonsense. A cornerstone tenet of control 101, is to keep everyone divided and fighting with each other.

    I believe that those who made decision should be the ones responsible for all the losses and damages not tax payers. Ottawa issued the orders and had the implied threat of emergency measures hanging over the head of the provinces. I am not excusing what Alberta or Ontario or any of the other provinces and territories did. Merely pointing out that their marching orders came from Ottawa and a Prime Minister itching to be just like his daddy and use War Measures. Which he later did during the Truckers Convoy Protest. I think it is sad that the provinces and municipalities can use the 'Just following orders' defense. I personally wish they hadn't and had taken different steps to deal with the situation. Just personally feel the blame lies at the feet of Trudeau, his minions, and whomever they were taking instructions from. So again suggesting that they cut out the middlemen and sue the federal government for their mishandling of the situation.

    I worked for a small business and was Temporarily Laid off at the beginning April 08, 2020. Then Permanently Laid Off in August 2020, because of the lockdowns and loss in business, the small business couldn’t afford FT employees anymore. My 22 year old career done, ended. Haven’t worked since as no wants to hire someone close to retirement age. So What About Employees of these Small Businesses that were affected. Should we not be able to sue as well for compensation of lost wages and lost career??!

    I have been taking care of my mom who is 90 after she got Covid and couldn’t go into a care facility. CERB is making me pay back 30 thousand! It’s crazy! I’m really struggling now in my life and I am 67 myself. I did everything for her as she was unable to walk a single step. She took a terrible fall in the bathroom and had stitches in her head and was unable to come home from the hospital. Where is the fairness and justice?..

    This kind of COVID class-action damages lawsuit should also be launched against those unelected public health officials and elected officials in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec, who were responsible for creating so much long term socio-economic destruction.

      The lawyer explained that. You cannot sue someone personally for something they did while acting in their professional capacity. That's not the way the law works.
      They were acting in their professional capacity as government officials so in fact, it was the government which is claimed to have wronged them.

    Govts should've handled it differently, considering most deaths were 75 year olds and higher, unhealthy people, and those with underlying diseases or compromised immune systems. All of these people should've been immunized (at their choosing). And lockdowns didn't help at all.

    They should not be allowed to sue over this. They complied with the orders instead of saying no. Business owners should have resisted this stupidity when they had the chance and stood together against it. Everyone embraced the covid lockdowns and mask mandates and the majority were also enforcers when they got the chance. I went through covid with no mask, no vax and the majority of people and businesses that I had to deal with ignorant enforcers. They went along to get along and they should pay the price for that. I know I paid a price for not going along.
