The AUDACITY Leia had to tell Vader that was a political envoy when he literally watched that ship deploy with the plans like 5 minutes before😭😭🤚
Yeah it showed how vader knew it was a rebel ship, and also because the ship was similar to Alderaanian ships, and Alderaan was part of the empire
kinda fun fact: the slap at 14:36 was unscripted so he's covering his mouth to hide his smile
dude i just saw that again hilarious lol
Came looking to see where someone pointed that out.
lol, n1 man
"Good luck, it's fucking Vader"
How the fandom have LONGED for this to be the default reaction to him.
Fun thing to notice when you rewatch the original trilogy, after A New Hope when Luke blows up the Death Star with a few survivors, they're referred to as "Rogue Squadron" in the next film. I think Luke's "Rogue Leader" and Wedge is "Rogue Two", so I guess that's in honour of Rogue One.
If you read the books, obviously "Rogue Squadron", they tell you that Rogue Squadron is bestowed on the best fighters and flyers in the Rebel alliance. They consider it to be the greatest honor.
No Rogue One and Rogue Squadron have no connection
Actually rogue one and rogue squadron do have a connection in the canon. They name themselves rogue squadron in honor of rogue one in the Star Wars comic. I believe it happens in volume 7 “ashes of jedha.”
@@magicconchshell
They do actually do it in honor of Rogue one and the events of Scarif, because without Rogue one the Rebellion would never have succeeded
No luke is not apart of rogue squadron wedge is the leader
Donnie Yen was the one who suggested his character be blind in this film. They loved the idea so much it was kept in the film.
Krennic was supposed to have the cape outside the intro scene but the actor loved it so much he kept wearing it
When you realize that the line that went something ike "Lots of people sacrificed themselves to get this information" during the Death Star briefing in episode IV is basically the plot for this entire movie
That was actually in Episode VI and it was in reference to the _second_ Death Star. Sorry to be that guy.
@Peacefield Manny Bothans died?! Dang, he owed me money!
@JSB surprised we haven’t seen them in canon yet TBH
@@mikejankowski6321 I’m so sorry
To me this is the only Star Wars movie since the originals that actually felt like the originals.
@DDDA CREW There's a difference between what feels like a SW movie and literal elements like characters and timeline.
It doesn't have to feel like the originals tho
@@Whateveridksomething true, the prequels feel a bit different but they still feel like SW. the sequels on the other hand...
Fucking exactly
@@caedes4367 TFA felt like SW in my opinion but as for TLJ and TROS, fuck no
Now you know what had Darth Vader so pissed off at the beginning of A New Hope that he was crushing people's throats.
Because he had to get out of a hot bath? That's legit.
I’m not gonna lie, when I saw this in theaters, I forgot that in Episode 4, it was mentioned that they all died to get the plans. So for the last 15 minutes of the movie, I was bawling my eyes out.
No one said any such thing in A New Hope.
That was in episode VI and it was in relation to the information that the Emperor was present on the second Death Star, not the plans.
When you realize that a new hope starts with Vader boarding Leia's ship and she has the audacity to act like she had no idea what was going on lol makes it even better
The only Star Wars movie under Disney that didn't suck at all.
7 was good
Solo was good
@@hotdawg4302 nope
@@hotdawg4302 not terrible, but still mediocre
@@sol15_ its mediocre id say. Not goodo. But better then all the sequels combined.
Mom didn't die for no reason. She sacrificed herself to protect/hide/save her kid. It worked.
Also, Vader was in a bacta tank. He can't survive long outside the suit, but probably doesn't want to spend all his time in the suit.
idk She didn't really accomplish anything other than making sure she wasn't a bargaining chip for the Empire. Other than that she didn't do anything.
@Arizona15G. Yep. She literally could have hid in the rock hole/vault with Jyn and waited for Saw. Jyn could have grown up with her mother, but naw. Mom wanted to have a shootout with 10 stormtroopers
The movie was so good, I even felt bad for Krennic at the end. Getting killed by your life’s accomplishment and your rival taking all the credit.
Same here, you can even see the green of the laser beam reflected in his eyes before the end... I also felt bad for Nebula when Thanos was beheaded right in front of her in EndGame.
facts
Na, can't feel sorry for Krennec. "It's beautiful" as tens of thousands lose their lives in an instant.
His end was poetic justice being meted out in a brutal system. It was tasty.
@@shugaroony I don’t think that many people lived in the city or saw’s base
Rogue One is definitely one of my favorite SW movies. I feel like Lucas decided "let's explain how that vulnerable spot ended up in the Death Star" since that was a frequent complaint back in the '77 when New Hope came out; like why would the Empire put ANY vulnerable spot in it? In that way it's especially poignant for us oldies.
Lucas had very little input in any of the SW movies under Disney.
@Peacefield I don't disagree with you, and yet I still found it entertaining.
@Peacefield the limited scope made it more tightly scripted and controlled. Like ‘bottle episodes’ in tv series often are some of the best ones.
It wasn’t that vulnerable
@JSB bruh
FINALLY, my favorite Star Wars movie Disney made
What do you mean, it’s the ONLY Star Wars movie they ever made

Yup. A Star Wars reaction marathon!
Thanks!!
@@ItsAPrimatee you’re welcome. I’ve watched dozens of Star Wars reactions during 2020 (what else has there been to do?) and I like yours the best. I’ve been a fan since 1977 and you reacted to these movies (good and bad) almost exactly the same that I did when seeing them all in the theater. You may be a new fan, but you’re a true fan.
Okay
As a kid I watched Episode 4 in theaters when it was released. I have seen every other Star Wars movie in the theater as well.
Surprisingly, this is my favorite Star Wars movie next to 4
I agree with this. Star Wars (neither ep 4 nor ANH when it was released in 1977) IS Star Wars. Empire was better in some ways but without the payoff. Jedi sold our souls to the plush toy industry with the Ewoks, and it was downhill onward with the other trilogies. But Rogue 1 is like a classic WWII movie set in the universe, and better than most of the others.
Hands down Better than all 7 8 and 9 . Period! Seeing Darth Vader again gave me chills.
"Better than 7, 8, and 9 all together" Couldn't agree more! This is my Favorite StarWars out of them all.
Fun Fact: In the original trilogy Luke's call sign was "Red 5," which you see that pilot position open at the end of Rogue One when the current Red 5 gets blown up above Scarif
Poor guy
Alan Tudyk is a living legend. Who knew we needed a sarcastic droid in our lives? But we do, and the comic timing and nonchalance is epic. This movie alone managed to build more depth of feeling than any of the last trilogy. If you 1)structure a movie the right way, and 2)give it a good storyline with interesting characters and real sacrifice. Well, that is the recipe for success.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. They should not have had a single scene, reference, or HINT of Vader before you hear his breath in that hallway. Could you imagine the reaction if there was absolutely no CLUE he was in the movie at all until half a second before the lightsaber ignites?
I feel you, but it was worth it just because we got one of the most inherently brutal quotes from Vader ever: "Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, director". Savage.
I wish i could rewatch it in the theater for the first time. The whole place fucking EXPLODED! People were on their feet, cheering, clapping like mad. It was phenomenal.
It might work on those who grew up with SW but newbies watching it in order would be like 'Whos' this guy?'
I was in nerd-induced shock, I literally couldn’t breath, it was one of the best feelings I’ve ever felt
@@patrickb4750 Dude, literally everybody knows who Darth Vader is.
There were actually blind jedi. An entire race called Miralukan's. They saw through the midichlorians.

They all died
As far as I’m concerned Empire is #1 and Rogue One is #2.
Return of the Jedi will always be my favorite, but I agree with this.

1. Revenge of the Sith
2. Empire Strikes back
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Rogue One.

Vader is like "I really got out of my bath just to listen to this asshole complain, make excuses, and then ask me for a favor?"

"I knew he lived!" Rogue One: Hold my beer.
Yeah dude it definitely better than 7,8 and 9. Cause the director is an actual Star Wars Fan
I cryed at the movies when K2 dies and again when I saw leia
When I see reactors get super happy watching Vader on Mustafar, I become sooo giddy anticipating the reactions to the end!
well said, it's better than 7 8 9 altogether.
7:21 this whole movie gave me a WOII vibe; which is why I explained this bit in my head as the resistance gathering information to defeat a tyrant. And ultimately leaving no loose ends.
It had cold, harsh moments. Cruel decisions. And in general it crossed lines that some other movies didn't. I liked it in it's own right. And I thought the finale/finish of this movie was a great albeit dark and shocking choice.
( ;) but you've read some of my reactions so I assume you know this is a slight lean or preference of mine in movies. I generally like impactful decisions in storylines.
For example: if someone is dead. They stay dead. Otherwise the decision to kill them means nothing)
Saw Gurera he was a rebel in The Cone Wars and Star Wars Rebels,So by this time he'd been in the fight for years and has the wounded body to prove it.
He killed him at 7:20 because since his arm was hurt he couldn't escape. He knew if he was captured he would talk.
Primate "You don't need to die just to die..." With that crippled walk of his, he would have had them all die.
27:25 I'm just waiting for him to start Star Wars Rebels
I’m in love with your guys Harry Potter, Star Wars, hunger games. I suggest maybe marvel or X-men because those movies are reaaally good! Love yall

I saw this in theaters for my 18th birthday. It was and still is a fantastic movie. Easily the best Star Wars movie since Disney bought Lucasfilm.
28:23 “Good luck; it’s fuckin’ Vader.”
Truer words have not been spoken.
Rogue One is essentially "Part No. 3.9". It leads right into A New Hope as you saw.
11:37 rare footage of primate not immediately wanting to kill Tarkin
My only issue with this movie was that it doesn't address Mon Mothma's statement in A New Hope, where she says, "Many Bothans died to bring us this information."
Where are all the Bothans in this movie?!?!?!
Mon Mothma discussed the Bothans bringing the information in Episode 6 Return of the Jedi. The Bothans brought word of the Death Star being rebuilt after it was destroyed in Episode 4 A New Hope.
@@knight6 You know, you're right. And that lays to rest the only issue I ever had with the film. Thank you!
This movie deserves its spot on the altar of the original trilogy. It just feels so true.
If Disney was smart (and we all know they are not) they'd give the team that made this movie a blank cheque, full creative freedom and the order to make a new sequel trilogy.
This has become my wet star wars dream
This is arguably my fave movie of the entire franchise.
Chirrut is Space Toph basically in Starwars. XD

did you know that they are making a TV show like the mandalorian for cassian andor and K2SO? it started filming a few days ago
Whaaat
Without K2SO
@@twdclementine11 well, K2 will appear in S2 or 3, just not in 1
Now you need to see Solo so you can understand all the shit talking about the Millennium Falcon Han Solo did in A New Hope and the relationship between Han and Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back.
this is top 5 best star wars movies
8:29 oh! This is why the security droids chokeslam you in Fallen Order, didn’t remember that part
This was a very sophisticated Star Wars film. I love the moral ambiguity it confronts us with toward the rebels. And dear god, they killed the protagonist and other main characters. How many films have the balls to do that today.
Ironically, TCW tv show did that. Most of the main characters anyway
Sometimes I wished that Saw Guerra did escape from Jedha City, but he can barely walk to well let alone run. Perhaps his crew could have tried to carry him, but that suit he's wearing may make carrying him difficult. Also like he said to Jyn, "there's not much of me left" so he understands he won't last too long and will die soon enough. Saw was a symbol of the Rebel Alliance and the battle of his rebels against the Khyber convoy as well as his talk with Jyn helped shape the background as well as her character. There is a Clone Wars episode that shows Saw Guerra as a teenager and how he became a guerilla fighter.
This is where the fun begins
I love this movie and star wars in general. I thought krennic was a good villain. The return of the Jedi is my favorite. some people didn’t like solo but I loved it. Also I was glad to see the empire and rebellion fighting again like the originals.
If you love droids you wait till you see IG11 in the Mandalorian.
I loved the connection with the original at the end
There is another droid (and you actually see him for an instant in this very movie), who will rival R2 for your affections, guaranteed. You'll see him one day in something else if you continue your SW watch.
27:26. If you want to see a blind jedi go watch Star Wars: Rebels.
DUDE.
C’mon...
Whyyyyyyyy
Lol why these dudes cheesed
Ffs dude, spoilers
I just wanna say it usually is a Republic or Rebel victory but this is the first time where the good guys dont have a jedi with them, and that makes all the difference, it literally took the entire squad to die, just for this
This was uploaded on my birthday, thanks for the treat dude
Happy birthday :)
@@ItsAPrimatee Thanks Bro
That part with vader in that water is the way how he takes showers
Nuts how even the rebel fighters who escaped vader at the end just got immediately killed/captured at the beginning of IV
It really makes Leia insisting that she’s on a diplomatic mission even ballsier since vader literally watched their ship fly like yesterday
Honestly something I love about Vader is when you hear his breathing you know exactly who your dealing with and how F$&@ed you are

Star Trek.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Spaceballs

Best modern Star Wars yet! Best after 1,2 & 3...
Did you know that new hope starts when they come out of hyperspace at the end
When K2 slaps you, it's like getting slugged with a wrench.
I hope no one spoils what happens in the Clone Wars to you, if you’d like there’s the 2003 Clone Wars series short series on RUclips, those are also very good if you’d watch those!
Those AT-AT’s were specialized for cargo transport not for battle, part of the reason they were taken down so easily, less armored
I agree 100%. It was the perfect setup for ANH, and compared to 7, 8, 9, I actually think Rogue One was conceptually better. I was surprised with how much I liked this one. In my opinion, of course!
Rogue 1 is basically a traditional war movie that happens to be set in the SW universe -- and, in fact, a pretty good traditional war movie. Solo is a caper movie that happens to be set in the SW universe, and I wouldn't worry too much about it spoiling anything. I saw these films as a foray into making every possible kind of movie we normally see but recast in the SW universe.
She didnt yell anyones name lmao. She yelled "BOMBER" because they were all about to be blown to bits.
You are genuinely one of the more intelligent movie reaction channels out there, great job mate!

I remember watching this in theaters and getting chills at the part where Vader slaughters all those rebel troopers.
20:37 "That was the worst plan.." What plan? Apart from that...great reaction!😀
As someone who saw the original SW in the cinema in 1978 (I was 12) it was a long wait for a SW movie that put a smile on my face again and Rogue One did that for me. I am looking forward to the cassian Disney + series.

@@andymiller6661 true, but the Death Star plans was huge. Had they survived they would have been hailed as heroes back at the rebel base, or at least been named. Galen Erso designed the super weapon part of the death star while im pretty sure most of the dirty work part of the designs was done by the Geonosians

How can you cut off the Vader massacre like that???
I think it should just be seen as 1, 2, Clone Wars Tv Show, 3, Rogue One, 4, 5, (Shadows of the Empire video game/book/comic) and 6 The big happy ending. There are parts of Episode 7 I liked, but I never did see 8 and 9, because I saw the "Shooting Stars Leia" meme, and as if through the force it allowed me to see things before they "happened", so I could avoid it happening all together. :D
28:22 had my reaction as Primate's. What a Defiant Entrance Vader had.
"SERIOUSLY? THAT was her PLAN?!"
"What? Why is is staying...he could go with them, he doesn't have to DIE!"
"WHAT?! That was the worst plan ever!"
Dude...I hear you.
The plot/motivations in this were weak at best, the characters pretty dumb and their actions unwarranted, too often.
For all the praise this flick got, I wasn't impressed with those usually important aspects....BUT...it was BRILLIANTLY directed, shot, edited, and scored, with fantastic action sequences and effects, and I personally feel that all overshadowed the previously mentioned elements and folks enjoyed it anyway...
I also had NO issues with the CGI Tarkin or Leia, I thought they look outstanding, as were they voice elements...
Overall, an OK entry, but not NEARLY as 'amazing' as most made it out to be.
