@RaitisRides We will see Joe. It's just VW like BMW is kinda losing it with design lately of new vehicles. 2025 Jetta and Golf are exception. Feels like the design takes a step backward.
I cherish this report, it's good to see you review a new car, a good distraction from my dog dying. thanks man - it's a sudden thing & I was not ready to say goodbye to her. 😥
The R has had roughly 320hp. That would be crazy sweet if they brought it here! It's on the short wheelbase though, which we also don't get. We should be getting the upcoming phev version which has up to 272hp and 62 miles of range.
Couldn’t agree more, just traded in my 2022 Tiguan and it was a great vehicle just lacked the power especially changing lanes in the highway. A little hp boost would put it on par with a Q5.
Uh, no. A dial is literally the worst way to interface with the infotainment. Just give us physical buttons under the screen for heated/cooled seats, climate, volume, everyone else has figured this out.
Same. I have a 2019 Jetta that I totally love, but a lot of the VW lineup bores me. The outgoing Tiguan is quite dull. I was tempted to get a Taos because it looks better, but I dont' want to go that small. And I'm glad VW seems to be learning the right lessons about not having too many capacitive buttons.
They absolutely crushed the design. Glad this is coming to North America. Now time to decide between this or the 2025 Atlas Cross Sport SEL R Line. Great vid, Joe!
I currently own a 2013 VW Tiguan with 155,000 miles. My car has been fantastic ! Only major repairs have been new A/C, new radiator and new water pump…that’s it !! Love this review. I am hooked for sure. Can’t wait to purchase a 2025 Tiguan SEL R-Line. Great standard options, I will go with the SEL R-Line with the wonderful new interior and exterior changes. You can’t go wrong with the Tiguan. My wife and I each have one, same year same trim….I will definitely purchase again.
Hey Joe I have been watching your videos since 400k subs. Now we are at 1.2 mil! I just wanted to say thank you, your reviews helped me and my wife with purchasing our last 2 cars. Your content are always consistent and thorough. You and Laurie deserve everything you have ! Keep it up and always stay true to what you love, see you at 2 mil subs! ❤
After selling for Volkswagen for 3 years, the door panels are 100% the same structure just different styling. When I saw the top of the door panel, the grab handle, the bottom half storage area is all the same.
Its hard for Volkswagen to win me over with their interiors but this one is definitely nice. Good job updating this suv keep it up they are going to sell a lot of these on the design alone😎
The Tiguan has looked so dull for so long. In really excited for this because I was considering an Atlas Cross Sport for the look but really didn’t need the size. Thank you!
At first glance, the new Tiguan reminds me of the Atlas Sport which I've always loved because of its husky shape. I've never considered a VW until now, but it needs a higher powered engine option. Hybrid is also a consideration.
I like the redesign of this latest gen Tiguan. The side profile, especially that kick-up in the crease of the sheet metal in the rear door and continuing into the rear fenders, along with the side window profile, reminds me of the BMW X5.
The R badge tricked me. I thought for sure it was going to have at least 241hp from the GTI. I would have been instantly sold. Every thing else is PERFECT!
Definitely much better interior compared to the previous model. The only thing about Volkswagen. It’s at the bottom of the list according to consumers report.
Didn't love the shape of the 2024 Tiguan, but I like the new shape of the 2025! I also love the fact that this is now a 2-row and that interior is a huge improvement. Not sure I love those wheels though. I think for the R-line I would prefer a sportier wheel package, but they might grow on me I guess.
On the VW website, it says that power folding mirrors will come standard on all trims of this new Tiguan. Also, if you look closely enough, there is a camera in the side view mirror and a front facing camera in the front bumper. So, it should have a 360 camera.
Thanks all. I’ve watched 5 RUclips reviews of the US Spec from yesterday and not a one mentioned 360 cameras nor power folding mirrors. Yet, I could finally see at least the Birds Eye view and the button for power folding mirrors if I paused and zoomed in. With all these features it beats every compact Mazda, the CR-V, RAV4, the GM clones and Ford. Pretty much every compact SUV out there without having to go high end luxury.
Same. As a family with small kids the emergency third row to pick up their friends on occasion is a must. We don’t use it enough for the need of a larger three row suv. This is a real bummer.
Tiguan wants to be noticed on the road. They did start with the new Atlas, and now the new Tiguan. They nailed it, only one concern is the staggering amount of sensors and technology inside the vehicle. Extra warranty if you plan on keeping the vehicle for many years is highly recommended. Beautiful vehicle
Great review! Awesome looking VW! I would cross shop this with a CX-5 Turbo Premium if it was already available, but I have to swap my ride in the next two weeks.
I don't know. It looks big and small at the same time. Something about the proportions is throwing me off, and not in a bad way. I'd check it out if I were in the market.
Thanks so much for sharing! Good review. Do we know when it will be released in the USA ? Also when will you review the brand new design Audi A4/5 ? I like that design and like to know when it will be available in the USA. Thanks! BTW, I miss the shift handle!
For it’s class, it needs fog lamps. Audi Q5s have mild hybrid. VW could sell a Tiguan Hybrid model as an additional trim model. The R model also needs more power.
Oh man, the ambient lighting design in the US model has been changed compared to the EU Tiguan / Tayron. How relieved I am! It looks like they minimized the speckle that is in the light design. I am so happy to see that because I really do not like what I have been seeing in the Tayron, way too much speckle lighting. In the US version I love the simplified look. Another big one is it looks like in the US version you can have two different ambient lighting colors. I am so excited to see that. Having two different colors looks so incredibly good. I was already sold on this car so seeing that one little nitpick issue I had get cleaned up is a welcomed surprise. Now to patiently wait until June 😓
oh man - drooling - this new re-design screams to make this a real R - I can already see the quad pipes out the back - side sills - extended spoiler. 325-340HP. VW - do it do it do it!! I would hands down grab it when my 8.0 Golf R lease ends.
Is it the same engine, E888.3B but tuned, or its a different one, without the Budack cycle ? Like a Normal E888.4 ? And is it the same sluggish transmission we had before or its a completely new 8 speed transmission?
You “zonked” the similar cross-hatch pattern on the lower rocker panels and lower rear bumper on the Genesis GV70 when you reviewed that SUV a few years ago. I’m surprised you didn’t “zonk” it on this new Tiguan, especially the rear bumper area.
SPECIAL SURPRISE! Here is the all new 2025 Tiguan! Make sure you let VW know what you think of it in the comments section!
It's alright, Joe, but I'm more curious of the redesigned 2026 Atlas. This has some hits and misses like the new Taos.
@@DarkJediChrisG-1425we will see if VW can please you with the new Atlas.
@RaitisRides We will see Joe. It's just VW like BMW is kinda losing it with design lately of new vehicles. 2025 Jetta and Golf are exception. Feels like the design takes a step backward.
The new 2025 VW Tiguan is a great car. I like the new design of it
I cherish this report, it's good to see you review a new car, a good distraction from my dog dying. thanks man - it's a sudden thing & I was not ready to say goodbye to her. 😥
Long time VW owner and this is is a MAJOR improvement in design and feel!Bravo
It's time to put a 230-250hp version of the 2-liter turbo in the Tiguan. I honestly think it would sell well.
Thanks would be a nice touch Andy
They look good. Almost bought one but they are so under powered. Maybe the R will come to the states.
The R has had roughly 320hp. That would be crazy sweet if they brought it here! It's on the short wheelbase though, which we also don't get. We should be getting the upcoming phev version which has up to 272hp and 62 miles of range.

🤣🤣thats a BUICK ENCLAVE!
VW and Mazda just don’t miss, imo. Almost all models are gorgeous
Agreed. They are the best looking and feel premium compared to their competitors.
Uh, no. A dial is literally the worst way to interface with the infotainment. Just give us physical buttons under the screen for heated/cooled seats, climate, volume, everyone else has figured this out.
Hands down best looking Vw interior ive seen by far
I'm a long time VW driver and finally this doesn't look boring anymore
in what way? it's the same as all others for the last 5 years. One or more big screens and different colours... I see nothing new here
It has the VW's ID design that looks sporty
This is one of the best non luxury SUV’s in my opinion. I compare it to the x3 and glc and it look better than the new generation x3
Oh wow! I know VW will be very happy!
They absolutely crushed the design. Glad this is coming to North America. Now time to decide between this or the 2025 Atlas Cross Sport SEL R Line. Great vid, Joe!
I love the way the Atlas rides and I love the styling too.
Atlas better suv. But this one Europe style more technology
I am in the same predicament. I saw the 2025 Atlas CS Prem has massage seats.
That Tiguan is beautiful!!!
As a Atlas CS owner, I've been looking for a smaller vehicle with some cool toys...this is it. Can't wait to trade into this!!

Car looks perfect
Interior is top tier. Love the total design. VW did a wonderful job
They have totally reinvented the 2025 Volkswagen, Tiguan
Looks more premium. More power + less weight should make it drive better too. Great review!
I’m hoping the same also with the power.
Finally got rid of the fake exaust on each side
Love your videos man
I can’t do it without your support
Yes of course Joe & I can't wait to drive this.

Let's agree to disagree- older model had felt lining in a door pockets and it was way roomier compared to this one.
Nice finally a VW I used to work for VW in Tennessee Joe❤
Oh wow! What a small world!
Nice! I work for VW in Tennessee too.
Its hard for Volkswagen to win me over with their interiors but this one is definitely nice. Good job updating this suv keep it up they are going to sell a lot of these on the design alone😎
Definitely the best looking in this class 👍

Both hybrids will offer more power with up to 60 miles of electric only.
@krane15 Sounds like you have information only someone who works for VW would know.
New Tiguat has already took over German autobahn... I swear every other car is Tiguan.
I wish they would do that!
Been waiting patiently 🙏 for this one, it is fantastic. It literally has everything....great 👍 review Joe.
That is so very awesome to hear! I am so glad that I can share it with you!
We shall continue to patiently wait. Keep your fingers crossed for the reported June release and hopefully we don't see a delay.
Looks gorgeous!
Especially compared to the previous generation
Agree 100%👍
Definitely much better interior compared to the previous model. The only thing about Volkswagen. It’s at the bottom of the list according to consumers report.
@1225328. I agree. I love the way their cars ride and handle but they’re always in the shop for repairs.

Love the design. Has everything I want except power folding mirrors and 360 camera. Even has a HUD! If SEL is the top trim, I guess I’ll keep looking.
A Lexus or Audi SUV will have those features.

I kinda like it. Nice interior
The interior is the Home run
Nice looking Crossover, interior is spot on and massage seats is a game changer for sure
The wheels remind me of the first generation Crosstrek XV…
We bought the Tiquan for the emergency 3rd row seats, probably used a few times a year. Without it, we won't consider Tiquan at all.
Same emergency third row was a big selling point for us too
What choices do you have other than the Mitsubishi Outlander, everything else is going to be bigger 😂 than a Tiguan!
Same. As a family with small kids the emergency third row to pick up their friends on occasion is a must. We don’t use it enough for the need of a larger three row suv. This is a real bummer.
@RaitisRides - where is gear shifter?

That's a nice looking SUV. Well done VW!
So excited to see it in the avocado green!!!💚💚💚
Same here for sure!
Great vehicle. Zongk the placement of rear wiper and lack of exhaust pipes! But those are little things
Good eyes though!
Tail pipes would make it seem high-performance which this is not. Just performance looks. Its not a true "R".
Looks are great, more horsies and less weight are great butttt make it hybrid. Great video as usual 🎉🎉
I have to zonk that new front design but everything else looks pretty good.
I appreciate your honest opinion
This is the current top model. Not sure if the other two designs under this will be sold in North America. We don't get the base Golf either.
If it's reliable enough, this will be my next car!
Always a concern with VW
it is still a Dual Clutch transmission, what do you say
@@simonliu2008you clearly didn't watch to video. It's 8 speed only and the 8 speed is from Aisin (same brand that Toyota uses)
Reliability ➜ Japanese.
Thanks Joe for the detailed review as usual. Pretty nice exterior and interior. Much better than the current generation.
This looks really reallly good ❤
Loving this! Just hoping that walnut trim isn’t the only option on the highest end model…hopefully carbon fiber as an option.
From Nigeria we just look at the beautiful Tiguan

For it’s class, it needs fog lamps. Audi Q5s have mild hybrid. VW could sell a Tiguan Hybrid model as an additional trim model. The R model also needs more power.
