@RaitisRides We will see Joe. It's just VW like BMW is kinda losing it with design lately of new vehicles. 2025 Jetta and Golf are exception. Feels like the design takes a step backward.
I cherish this report, it's good to see you review a new car, a good distraction from my dog dying. thanks man - it's a sudden thing & I was not ready to say goodbye to her. 😥
The R has had roughly 320hp. That would be crazy sweet if they brought it here! It's on the short wheelbase though, which we also don't get. We should be getting the upcoming phev version which has up to 272hp and 62 miles of range.
Couldn’t agree more, just traded in my 2022 Tiguan and it was a great vehicle just lacked the power especially changing lanes in the highway. A little hp boost would put it on par with a Q5.
Uh, no. A dial is literally the worst way to interface with the infotainment. Just give us physical buttons under the screen for heated/cooled seats, climate, volume, everyone else has figured this out.
Same. I have a 2019 Jetta that I totally love, but a lot of the VW lineup bores me. The outgoing Tiguan is quite dull. I was tempted to get a Taos because it looks better, but I dont' want to go that small. And I'm glad VW seems to be learning the right lessons about not having too many capacitive buttons.
They absolutely crushed the design. Glad this is coming to North America. Now time to decide between this or the 2025 Atlas Cross Sport SEL R Line. Great vid, Joe!
I currently own a 2013 VW Tiguan with 155,000 miles. My car has been fantastic ! Only major repairs have been new A/C, new radiator and new water pump…that’s it !! Love this review. I am hooked for sure. Can’t wait to purchase a 2025 Tiguan SEL R-Line. Great standard options, I will go with the SEL R-Line with the wonderful new interior and exterior changes. You can’t go wrong with the Tiguan. My wife and I each have one, same year same trim….I will definitely purchase again.
Hey Joe I have been watching your videos since 400k subs. Now we are at 1.2 mil! I just wanted to say thank you, your reviews helped me and my wife with purchasing our last 2 cars. At first glance, the new Tiguan reminds me of the Atlas Sport which I've always loved because of its husky shape. I've never considered a VW until now, but it needs a higher powered engine option. Hybrid is also a consideration.
I just purchased a 2024 and I absolutely love the third row seating. I'm someone who needs the third row seating so to hear that they had discontinued it doesn't make me happy. It should be an option for the consumer.
Its hard for Volkswagen to win me over with their interiors but this one is definitely nice. Good job updating this suv keep it up they are going to sell a lot of these on the design alone😎
I like the redesign of this latest gen Tiguan. The side profile, especially that kick-up in the crease of the sheet metal in the rear door and continuing into the rear fenders, along with the side window profile, reminds me of the BMW X5.
The R badge tricked me. I thought for sure it was going to have at least 241hp from the GTI. I would have been instantly sold. Every thing else is PERFECT!
Didn't love the shape of the 2024 Tiguan, but I like the new shape of the 2025! I also love the fact that this is now a 2-row and that interior is a huge improvement. Not sure I love those wheels though. I think for the R-line I would prefer a sportier wheel package, but they might grow on me I guess.
The Tiguan has looked so dull for so long. In really excited for this because I was considering an Atlas Cross Sport for the look but really didn’t need the size. Thank you!
Depending on what Mazda does with the CX 5, I may decide between the new Tigua and the Equinox. My only issue is I want physical buttons for most of the dash lol. Burying stuff in touch screens is not intuitive and leads to more distractions.
Tiguan wants to be noticed on the road. They did start with the new Atlas, and now the new Tiguan. They nailed it, only one concern is the staggering amount of sensors and technology inside the vehicle. Extra warranty if you plan on keeping the vehicle for many years is highly recommended. Beautiful vehicle
After selling for Volkswagen for 3 years, the door panels are 100% the same structure just different styling. When I saw the top of the door panel, the grab handle, the bottom half storage area is all the same.
Same. As a family with small kids the emergency third row to pick up their friends on occasion is a must. We don’t use it enough for the need of a larger three row suv. This is a real bummer.
I don't know. It looks big and small at the same time. Something about the proportions is throwing me off, and not in a bad way. I'd check it out if I were in the market.
Definitely much better interior compared to the previous model. The only thing about Volkswagen. It’s at the bottom of the list according to consumers report.
Oh man, the ambient lighting design in the US model has been changed compared to the EU Tiguan / Tayron. How relieved I am! It looks like they minimized the speckle that is in the light design. I am so happy to see that because I really do not like what I have been seeing in the Tayron, way too much speckle lighting. In the US version I love the simplified look. Another big one is it looks like in the US version you can have two different ambient lighting colors. I am so excited to see that. Having two different colors looks so incredibly good. You “zonked” the similar cross-hatch pattern on the lower rocker panels and lower rear bumper on the Genesis GV70 when you reviewed that SUV a few years ago. I’m surprised you didn’t “zonk” it on this new Tiguan, especially the rear bumper area.
Pleasantly surprised by the large infotainment change in the Tiguan, can airflow mode, temperature, fan speed be changed by the control knob? Love your reviews!

I've been waiting for the 2025 model to come out and will likely be ordering one when that option is available. My only two concerns/dislikes are...I'm not in love with the rims on the SEL R-Line in the video. I think they could have done better. In fact, the rims on my current 2022 Tiguan look much more like what you would put on a high end model. My only other dislike/concern is the fact that I have the brown/black interior in my current Tiguan. Was hoping for an option for something different this time around.
Is it the same engine, E888.3B but tuned, or its a different one, without the Budack cycle ? Like a Normal E888.4 ? And is it the same sluggish transmission we had before or its a completely new 8 speed transmission?
The only exterior design element I don’t like is the glossy black horizontal waffle texture bar that runs across the lower bumper. The rear looks very busy now with the illuminated VW Logo and lighting elements AND the high gloss piece. I’d prefer that be absent and just have a nice plain painted lower area. But this is a large improvement over the current Tiguan which I own. Thanks for the good stuff VW. I’ll be in there to buy this next year.
Does it have brake hold or auto hold feature. Love that feature in bumper to bumper traffic so once I’m stopped completely I don’t have to maintain my foot on the brakes. Just touch the gas and go. Gives your leg a break. Is the fuel refill cap less yet. The rear seat don’t recline, wtf.
Joe this is real redesign. You said a lot about this outstanding vehicle. I wish I could have enough to be able to own one, but I guess it is for wealthy individuals. I cnt afford it ev3n if I try. This is the best of its kind. Thank you for this excellent presentation.
For it’s class, it needs fog lamps. Audi Q5s have mild hybrid. VW could sell a Tiguan Hybrid model as an additional trim model. The R model also needs more power.
VW is not playing around, this is absolutely gorgeous! It looks more like a luxury car on the interior! The outside is just as nice though, I love the design. It doesn't look old and frumpy anymore! I'm definitely having second thoughts about the Atlas Cross Sport now! That screen is fire! 👍🏻 I think this new design will for sure appeal to more age groups now! Decisions decisions! 😱 Go VW! 💯 I can't wait to see how it drives and what the prices & pkg's will be? 🤔
The only thing I don't like about the wireless charger is that it's inside the console storage - a place where people put pens, keys, and other junk. Your phone's screen has to face outward against all that stuff and risks getting scratch.
Very few models had the third row as it wasn’t available with a 4motion configuration. I don’t think there is much difference between this and the current gen as far as cargo space
Beautiful car but the only think I don't like is the 15 inch infotainment screen is way too big. 12.9 would be enough, the rest is excellent can't wait to have one😊

SPECIAL SURPRISE! Here is the all new 2025 Tiguan! Make sure you let VW know what you think of it in the comments section!
It's alright, Joe, but I'm more curious of the redesigned 2026 Atlas. This has some hits and misses like the new Taos.

It's time to put a 230-250hp version of the 2-liter turbo in the Tiguan. I honestly think it would sell well.
Thanks would be a nice touch Andy
They look good. Almost bought one but they are so under powered. Maybe the R will come to the states.

This is one of the best non luxury SUV’s in my opinion. I compare it to the x3 and glc and it look better than the new generation x3
Oh wow! I know VW will be very happy!
Couldn't of said it better 👍🏻
They have totally reinvented the 2025 Volkswagen, Tiguan
That Tiguan is beautiful!!!
Long time VW owner and this is is a MAJOR improvement in design and feel!Bravo
Looks more premium. More power + less weight should make it drive better too. Great review!
I’m hoping the same also with the power.
Finally got rid of the fake exaust on each side
This made me very excited! I can NOT believe the features they have added to the 2025 Tiguan! I am sold!
At first glance, the new Tiguan reminds me of the Atlas Sport which I've always loved because of its husky shape. I've never considered a VW until now, but it needs a higher powered engine option. Hybrid is also a consideration.
Both hybrids will offer more power with up to 60 miles of electric only.
