K163 to Stony Point | MRPS | 1988 | The John Wilson Archives

  • Some time during 1988, MRPS (Mornington Railway Preservation Society) ran one of their heritage charters down to Stony Point and back from Frankston.
    Back then the group was situated at the Hastings sidings, which is now the Long Island steel facility, and the group had the availability of running on the mainline across Victoria. Here in today's videos is a collection of footage captured by my grandfather John Wilson; showing the day's events as K163 thundered the tracks.

    Wow. I've ridden behind this locomotive in Mornington a few times. Amazing to see it once flew along these lines. Cheers for sharing
