A beautiful end of the year with almost 100 magnificent photos, I salute Allan's work, who, alone to judge, succeeded in making his choice; it must have been long and complicated! I am still honored to have achieved this third place, and I congratulate, of course, the second and first places on the podium.
For this year 2024, we will have a lot of work to bring Allan photos and films that will prove that all the hours spent explaining and demonstrating all the techniques he masters allow us to progress in this specific field of Macro-photography

Congrats to all paticipants and winners. The ladybug was alive, but as it was shot like a month ago, it was in winter. So cold it didn't move a lot.

Thanks so much Allen! I'm over the moon at getting the win this month, especially as there were many of the entries I liked better than my own!
I detailed the story in the description box when entered . Not enough room to put it here. Thanks again.

Congratulations to the winners, and to every single entrant.. What a competition and everyone should feel very proud of their work. Huge respect to Allan for his judging as this one must have taken some serious hours and deliberating to have pulled out the winners, a huge task. Again, superb work everyone!

Thanks so much for the critique and compliments on my entry, It is in fact not stacked with the in camera compute system but rather a decent amount of images taken using the focus bracketing function and later stacked with Helicon. Congratz to all the finalists and winners, absolutely amazing images.

Thanks so much & congrats to all the honorable mentions, runner ups & winner! Always a proud moment to be judged/ critiqued by you.
For some reason my treefrog pic was a bit granier than the others I took. Also, I must say, I was beaten by a better caterpillar shot of almost the same species! You’re pretty good at this Allan! 👍👌👏👏

Bart Minnebo here: Colletes daviensanus is most definitly a bee, not a moth. Why would I make up a the scientific name? There is more than a few that sound a bit funny... Most bees I photograph have their mandibles closed and I quite liked this one showing more of the anatomy. I set up my portraits to show off the traits of the specimen.

Not fond of the winner. Don’t really care for artificially created images. Nature does it best.
