This song always takes me back to the first time I heard KISS. It was at hockey practice at my middle school. The coach or someone had set up a record player outside on the field (really long extension cord Ha Ha) and she put this record on. I was so hooked on this song.
"I Don't know, if we've ever played this before"...let's see, there's a "live" version from 1975 on the You Wanted The Best cd, although according to Wikipedia, they only played it live in 1974 on their first tour, supporting their first album. Either way, it's really cool that they played it live on the Kruise.
@@heyyou9693 The let me know on You wanted the best doesn’t really sound like it’s from 1975. Paul sounds like he did in the 90s and the band doesn’t really sound like 1975
I love that song. Heard it on one of the Live albums and fell in love. Great to hear it now. Early KISS is really strong rockin stuff, that can get lost in the marketing, but man they really rocked. The dual lead singer thing works & is very cool.
Do people criticize Christopher Reeves or Dean Cain for playing Superman feeling that they were a disgrace to George Reeves? Does people criticize Toby McGuire for play Spiderman? How about Michael Keaton or Val Kilmer and George Clooney for playing Batman? For Christ sakes!!!!! Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer were asked by Gene and Paul to fill the roles of the Catman and the Spaceman. Do you criticize a person who became a millionaire because he purchased a lotto ticket and won, or he fell into a stream of gold? Tommy and Eric are fulfilling a dream position, and whether we like them or not those two are here to stay, nothing is going to change that. Ace and Peter are no longer in the band, they made that choice, and now their legacy lives on with Tommy and Eric. Everyone needs to move on and get over it, Tommy and Eric have been in the band longer than Ace and Peter, they have been gone a long freakin' time. I'm not trying to argue or put anyone down for their beliefs because that is what makes everything so great that there are opinions, I am just saying what is really going on.
Man, that must be a real bitch for Tommy Thayer. Here he's playin' with a historically significant, MAJOR band, and he can't really use his own playing style & personal mannerisms, simply because he's wearing Ace Frehley's face/costume. But, I would trade bank accounts, and lifestyle with him in a fucking heartbeat. Lol.
sorry but only the original 4 can blow this song up and tear it up I know that gene and paul only sand on this song but witout ace and peter it just doesn't sound right
Damn, Gene sounds really good.
He does sound good here
Wow what a great song.So refreshing to hear them play these old songs that they never played live before:)
My favourite Kiss song. Finally they played it live! Amazing performance.

Gene sounds great!
This is one of my favorite Kiss songs.

they’ve def played it before
I don't know. They said that the version on 'You Wanted the Best' was circa 1975, but it sounds more current.
Look up the Cleveland show from 1975. They played it. And it's not the YWTB version

@@kissworld7626 that is what I'm thinking. They put too much filler and double kick drums for it to be from 1975. The recording sounds fresher too.
I love this song. Good crushing tune. I can't believe I saw KIZZ in 1976.
This must be very nostalgic for Paul and Gene, as this was the first song Paul sang to Gene when they first met.
I love this song
KISS DEBUT CD RULZ..❤ MAN TOMMY IS AWESOMENESS ❤
Love this song
got an tear in my eye
A Kiss fan are you?

Love this song!!

Yep. The best Kiss songs are those that Paul and Gene trade lead vocals on.
For their farewell tour, every show should have a section were they ask what people want them to play, or play some gems like this.
aw man, I thought they was gonna play the album outro
They used to add that to the end of She/beginning of Tommy’s/Ace’s solo.
Thanks for the memories, can't wait for the next kruise.
Good stuff.
Kiss should play more of these early tracks for their last shows.
I wish it was played in Kiss konvention. bruce on the guitar solo ... would be awesome
Marcelo Abech It Was
And the solo at the end? It was so cool! Why? I miss Ace...
Gilberto Chazaro they always play the demo version. without This solo at the end
Oh thank you, I did not know that... Is just that for me it is a great finale, I like it.
They usually do that solo at the end of Parasite
I wish it was played in Kiss konvention. bruce on the guitar solo ... would be awesome
They do that at the end of She
cool that Gene wore the original make-up design!
Doran Moreau yep so cool that he’s worn it since 1973!!
I Was There!
Gene voice is still as strong as the 70's............Paul not so much.
Paul does now because of his surgery
Christian Simones I seen him 2 months ago. He is getting better.
LOL
@@plastercaster8036 at least we know what's on your mind some things are just better left unsaid dude
lo mejor..... de lo mejor.... desde argentina.
yes, hard time, but i want Ace Freheley.
well then piss off to an ace concert.
Tommy does a great job. Best guitarist In Kiss apart from Ace
Wow, these guys are just standing there, barely moving around. They sound good, but they are totally showing their age. They've earned it though.
Well, it is a rather small stage is it not?
Small stage.music is what matters
I agree with previous comment!

They sound pretty good but visually they have the appeal of watching grass grow.
this song is great but sorry its not the same without ace or peter it just kiscka sss with ace and peter

No way Paul should sing
