  • Watch as I hit one of the biggest jackpots in coin roll hunting history! Before making this video, I had only hunted about $100 in nickels and I had not yet found any of the rarities that hunters generally search for (war nickels, buffaloes, v-nickels etc). I decided to pick up $20 in nickels just to give them one last shot, and I was instantly amazed. After finding nothing in my first roll, I took one glance at my second roll and saw it...

    My mom works at a bank, and that was very beneficial to starting my coin and currency collection. So many people bring in old money to make deposits it’s crazy! 1934 100 dollar bills 50s and 20s, silver dollars and half dollars. 1929 2s and 5s and Silver certificatesI was able to get most of my collection at face value because people were depositing their old money.

    I just watched your comp. hunt with your brother where you had mentioned this video. I had to watch this Video to see why people thought it was a set deck. I believe you found them in the roles. But, I think I know why people thought it was set up. When I find a awesome coin like my seated liberty dime I was screaming and doing cartwheels. In your vid you were nonchalant like no big deal. I believe but I can say why some jeolous or a- holes would'nt. Thanks for Sharing.

    That roll was AMAZING... I started looking through rolls a few months ago, not looking for old coins, but specifically looking for 2009 dated coins... much to my surprise I found that there were still old coins out there in circulation. This past Sunday, I found my first V nickel ever - a 1902. 2 weeks before that I found a 1937 Buffalo. I've also found 9 War Nickels to date, along with a 1938-D Jefferson, 3 1942-D's, a 1949-S, 2 1951-S's, along with a couple hundred or so other more common date pre-60s... and believe it or not a 2006-S proof nickel.

    • @QuinsCoins
      @QuinsCoins  8 лет назад +2

      There are definitely still old coins out there! I haven't been having much luck recently though...which explains the lack of videos. Those are some awesome finds though! You really never know with nickels, they are in my opinion the best denomination to hunt for this reason. Happy hunting!

I cant say I don't find anything in a box usually, find 1-2 war nickels in 1 box, maybe 1 buffalo, but you never know could be some old person returning change and not realizing what he has. Looks like you have it here in the video, and I me lucking out about 2 years ago with mine.

I notified the lady at the front desk and told her they were worth more than face value, especially in their great condition. dude that's awesome I've been coin roll hunting for a couple of years now and I've never been able to find a buffalo nickel in a roll. and I've barely been able to find any silver.

      Keep at it buddy! Look around for different options on where to get your coins and after a few boxes, you're almost guaranteed a buffalo and some silver. You'll get it if you keep seeking it out, happy hunting!

    In the mid to late 60s a friend and I would go to the bank every Friday and get a $100 loose bag of pennies and a $200 loose bag of nickels - all parking meter coins. Although buffaloes were fairly common, V nickels sure weren't! Excellent find!!

    • @QuinsCoins
      @QuinsCoins  7 лет назад

      That's awesome! What kind of stuff did you hunt for back then?

      Basically, any wheat of course, 55 double die, and in the nickels, there were quite a few buffaloes still in circulation. RARELY did we find V nickels; maybe out of a $200 bag 2 at most or none in some bags. Of course, we did find quite a few 38-54. Ya know the strangest part? We found more S coins that D and about 15% of each bag was S mint! I wish I still had my collection from the 60s and 70s, but marriage came, I moved and they went to the highest bidder! At nearly 65 I've started again. Fun isn't it? Parking meter coins were the best and they were brought to the bank in bulk. The bank separated the denominations and in turn they were placed in bags too, not rolled. Not like that these days! After moving to Arizona, my wife worked as a teller. SCORE! The best two things she found were ten $10 bills with just the first two printings and 3 rolls of Franklin halves that were cashed in for paper. When she realized this, she remembered the customer who was a regular and held them for him. He didn't want them back and told her to keep them. Two years later in 1979, silver hit $53+ an ounce. I kept a few dates and cashed the rest for melt value. Dammit, now you have me wanting to go to the bank!!

    Yes, I found a cache in a tobacco pouch in a glass jar under a home in a very dusty crawl space. It had Shield nickels, V-nickels, seated and barber dimes, Indian pennies, a flying eagle cent and some steel cents. There was another jar of marbles right beside it. Some of the marbles were listed for $100 each on eBay the other day, but now I can't find the marbles!

    Incredible. 4 V nickels in one roll. Then another V nickel unreal to be sure. Then a Buffalo. Nice find. I found a 1942 war nickel and thought that was great. Mind you being in Canada we don’t get many USA coins.

    Did not know this was a thing, coin roll hunting, I've been doing this for years and just like you said you'd be surprised at what you find. I've found mercury dimes, kennedy half dollars, buffalo nickels, copper pennies, and morgan dollars just to name a few. keep it up and good luck.

    Probably an estate settlement. Their coins were dropped off at a bank which in turn ended up going in the hopper where Loomis rolled them. Happens all the time.

    I was getting wheat pennies from either my wawa or the liquor store. i found it was the liquor store. so every time i go in there i get a dollars worth of pennies. its been about 6 months now ive collected almost $2 worth in wheaties my most inexpensive one is worth 3cnts-$1 most valuable one is about $18. i say score.the machine rolls are better because large buckets are just dump into a machine that rolls them no one person to look thru to find the jems. This technique works for all coins ive found. quarters are my next adventure .nice v nickel finds.happy hunting

      jacob casmus yes it’s real. I was inexperienced at the time so didn’t fully grasp what a big deal this was. I show multiple angles of the roll that had the ender to make sure you see that it’s not tampered with.

    cool to find the v nickels but i wouldn't have got that excited only bc a coin shop i frequent down the road sells them in droves, in poor condition they arent worth much at all, many collectors at shows will even put them and buffalo's in their 1 dollar or less bin to get rid of them quicker...sorry to rain on the parade , its still cool to find just dont expect much if u plan to sell any of them
