Very glad you are doing these. Nice to see common sense and variables discussed rather than hard lines.

What if one party refuses to work at all despite the children being of school age. Will the lawyers/courts decide that person should receive less as they CAN work but refuse to?

I was wondering if you could help answer my question.
Me and ex divorced in 2016 after 9 years of marriage and 11 years relationship.
We have two children and at the time of divorce the oldest was 8 years old and the youngest was 5 years old.
I have mainly been stay at home mum while he was out earning and building his carrier.
After the divorce I have still been the main carer of our children as he moved out had other relationships. In the 6 and half years we been divorced we haven’t done the financial settlement because we got back together every year for 3,6,9 months at the time. Can I claim child maintenance and spousal maintenance from the time we have divorced and he moved out? Also the children now are 15 and 12. Do I have to split the equity of the house 50/50?
I don’t have a job and I have problems with my health at the age of 45 I find it very hard to start from 0 when it comes to getting a new career or a job while I still have the children 99% of the time in my care.
Thank you so much if you are able to respond 🙏🏻🌸

What if your spouse purposely don’t won’t work more and expect the other partie to pay towards their living?

As a married couple it doesn't matter how much of a financial contribution is made by your spouse, the starting point upon divorce will still be 50:50

How long have you got to get unpaid maintenance from your husband while waiting to divorce

If you're talking about child maintenance, you'd be better off talking to CMS because this is their area of expertise.
