    Lol. My favorite cartoon character. Good job! I gotta go do the same to my car right now before the crazy rain coming in 2 days. Thanks for sharing!

    Seems to be a common problem. Mine leaked at the same location. I put some clear windshield sealant I got from AutoZone under the lip of the rubber seal all along that area and that took care of it. That sealant is clear and does not detract from the appearance should you get a little over spill.

    The real problem with these w/shields is that water gets under the top molding and rusts the metal. Water then seeps back onto the top of the interior headliner then leaks over to the A pillar and runs down onto the GEM module. If you are in So. Calif go to Alfredo's glass in Corona. He fixed mine. 2002 F150

    This is common on all of them. Twice on me. WARNING.. the leak goes down to the GEM module and will cause a short. You're 4x4 light will appear/disappear, beeps will sound, windshield wiper will only work in Park and Neutral. Wiper will not work in any gear. Allow to dry and get the gasket/sealant replaced. I have full windshield insurance coverage. I just ordered a new windshield from a REPUTABLE windshield replacement company, very important.

      Did it fix the problem, you replacing your windshield? My 4×4 and windshield fluid lights were flashing on and off yesterday. And some other sound like the sound it makes when you dont have your seatbelt on.

      stephanie martinez same here on a truck I just bought. I’m going to call around to the windshield repair shops. If it’s too high I’ll tackle it myself.

I got who ever would put it in cuz it was fixing to rain on my late Dad's truck... Trying to get it back together now. He glued the windshield strip channel together.. Got to get her done before the rain.. 😌😷💨💦

      I just pulled my GEM apart it was acting up real bad. Got some rain on the way home so when I arrived and put the truck in park I was just hearing some nasty noise so I popped the hood to look around and tried to follow the noise but I couldn't figure it out. Got back in the truck put it in R the noise went away put it in N it came back put it in D gone again. It then clicked to me that it was the starter hopefully I didn't damage it too bad because I did leave it running for a good bit trying to figure it out. Couldn't turn off the truck had to leave it in R with the E-brake to pull the starter fuse

    I don't know if my problem is the same as yours but I'm betting it is. I just bought a 2002 Lariat Super Crew a few weeks ago and today it saw its first rain. The dripping from the same are as yours was driving me nuts, couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I'm off for the next couple of days and will try your solution. Thanks!

    Hey man, can you post a video on how to get the spare tire to drop down from under the box. I know to use the long rod crank under the hood but it does nothing. Cranked both ways for about a minute each and nothing. Also thought it might be the short handle for the jack but it doesn't fit the hole. Can't find much info on it.

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  7 лет назад

      Most likely the spare tire cable winch hoist got moisture inside the housing and has rusted shut. It will need to be replaced or repaired. Forcing the spare wheel out can be a challenge.

      I know your comment is 4yrs old but I'm not sure if you're aware there's actually a long socket looking think you attach onto the rod to get it to turn. I've read you can use a 10/11mm deep socket but I didn't have any luck with it.

    mine is starting to leak in the middle just a little to the right of the rearview mirror, why the hell do they add this to the design, probably some one that doesn't have one and thinks it look good.

      Best to remove the headliner so you can see where the water is coming in from. Then fix the problem.

    • @nickstroke
      @nickstroke 3 года назад

      I've got the same thing with my headliner leaking and my headlights failing to turn off (manual lights, no daytime on my model). Looks like a lot of the seals around the windshield fall apart and water can run straight onto the GEM module. I'm going to check the multi-switch first, fuses/relays second, then the GEM last.
