    Brother i recently bought a 07 kx250f without the cylinder head and it also came without a front cam chain guide and im having trouble finding one, but is it really as simple as dropping it in till it locks?

      @Aarongoscinski  Год назад

      Yep! Just make sure the bottom portion of the guide fully seats down into the case

    It’s probably best you mention the key details like chain tensioner, cam position lining up with tdc. Etc

    Did you a least torque everything down to spec?

    Hey man when u put the cylinder onto the piston is there a specific place the piston ring has to be cuz on my old yo 125 there was a groove where the ring had to be at otherwise it wouldn’t fot

      Yeah that is on 2 stroke pistons. Check out my most recent rebuild video. It’s titled Honda Top end rebuild. There’s a section in there on piston ring gap orientation. If you don’t orient the end gaps in the correct position, you’ll end up with excess oil consumption, so it’s crucial for a good rebuild.

      It’s titled Motorcycle 4 stroke top end rebuild actually

    got an 07 kx250f is there a certain shim i should put in before i assemble the new head with new valves and springs ? or just throw a random shim then adjust it after from there

    • @Aarongoscinski
      @Aarongoscinski  2 года назад

      If you didn’t have a starting valve adjustment you might have to throw a starting size in the and adjust form there. In the manual it give you an equation to determine the correct size you’ll need based off of current shim size, valve clearance, and the valve clearance you want.

      U have to get feeler gauges n measure the gap between the valve cap and cam. U should get a shim kit of internet

    really good video, thank you man. Is there a video of the tear down also? Ive done the rebuilds on my 2000 kx250 2 stroke but I now have a 2020kx250f and these will be really helpful to me.

      Unfortunately I never made a video of the tear down, but I do have some other service videos if you’d like to check them out! They’re in the service playlist
