I loved Bride!
I love Assistant/Apprentice to the Villain so much. They’re just such fun books! My favorite read last year was the Aurelian Cycle trilogy by Rosaria Munda. It’s a perfect trilogy. There’s nothing I would change about it.
I'm literally so excited to read Fireborne. I have the first one waiting for me to read on my shelf.
Loved the mix of books you had on this list!
I think my favourites of the year were A Sorceress Comes to Call, I Was a Teenaged Slasher, and Kaikeyi.
I definitely want to get to A Sorceress Comes to Call and I have been thinking of trying Kaikeyi so that's awesome to hear you loved those!
For some reason I understand what you are saying about Red Rising lol. Something is definitely off about it but I think I gave it 4 stars. And wow that Bride cover is so pretty!
Thank you! I literally cannot articulate what it is about Red Rising, so I'm glad at least one person understood me 😅
That edition is the Owlcrate edition and it's so adorable. I also have a regular edition because I love both covers.
I wish I had a screenshot, but I think Hannah Nicole Maehrer mentioned in an IG story about more books beyond book 3 - not confirmation, but goodreads does have a "Assistant to the Villain #4". I hope, because it's definitely one of my favorite series too!!!
omg I hope so!!!! I would literally read this as a 26 book series if she keeps putting them out.
I have not read The Rebel Witch yet but I did love the first book and assumed I would like the second. I liked The Powerless books, Quicksilver, The Ravenhood Trilogy, Bride, The Kingdom of Lies series, The Ever Seas Trilogy, The Hike by Susi Holliday, Lights Out by Navessa Allen (audiobook a must), Inheritance and The Mirror by Nora Roberts. I think there were more but I'm too lazy to dig around.
Read The Rebel Wiiiiiiiitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's literally so good. I'm going to remind you constantly to read it until you do 😈
Yes I am so glad you loved The Luminaires, I just have the final book to go. This is Dennard’s writing at her best and is so much better than the Truth Witch series she wrote previously
I am reading Crimson Moth this month and cannot wait, I have held off as close to the new book coming out as I possibly can
I loved Bride too, it is the only book I have read from Ali Hazelwood and I would quite happily just read books from this world all day long
The Unmaking of June Farrow is on my TBR for next month as I couldn’t fit it in to this heavy reading month. If I can get to it I will…
I am working on the final book too! It is so good. I'm excited to get to the Truth Witch series still
Kimberly, I Happy New Year! It is weird I love your channel so much but I hate fantasy (go figure...) I was so happy to see all of the books that I have read or want to read. I hope you do some more horror/mystery books! Either way I'll be watching!
🤣🤣 I literally watch like four or five channels that the book tuber hates all the books I love so I totally get it. I'm currently working on a thriller vlog! I'm planning to read at least 2 thrillers a month if I can or even more this year.
I really loved the original audiobook of red rising, not sure if the dramatised version would make it better or worse
I definitely have heard a lot of people have some issues with the dramatized version, so I'd just stick to the normal audiobooks if you love them.
I have not read any of those but overall i liked the majority of books i read this year. A few larger series that made up half my resding like raven boys and dreamers, several Shadowhunters and the murderbot series.
That is amazing! I hope I like most of what I read in 2025. I want to get back into the Shadowhunters series and I'm using you as motivation
Bride had no business being so good, in my review I was like “how dare Ali Hazelwood make me rate an omegaverse story 5 stars” 😂
Bride insulted me with how amazing it was. I actively want to hate it because of the omega verse, but it blew my expectations out of the water. Basically I said the exact same thing you did when I read it
