This technique is so much fun and you can recreate any quilt block you want using the steps I show you. You can even print out free quilt block templates from the internet if you don't want to draw them but I promise it is easy. I will also show you have to get the puffy quilted texture on your card. Best of all we are using simply plain card stock, ink and stamps.
Supplies:
Small Stamps (I am using stamps from our sponsor Rubber Stamp Tapestry pegstamps.com/) Sets I used:
Brambly Rose: pegstamps.com/brambly-rose-pe...
Retro Sundress: pegstamps.com/retro-sundress-...
Between the Paving Stones: pegstamps.com/cart.php?m=sear...
Dogwood Forrest: pegstamps.com/cart.php?m=sear...
Aunties Strawberry Garden: pegstamps.com/aunties-strawbe...
Ink (memento, Aletenew, any dye ink is fine)
Ink blender sponges or brushes (I have Color Dusters)
Cardstock in white, green and kraft (or accent colors that you prefer, you need white though)
Hot glue
Foam mat (AKA fun foam or a mouse pad)
Piercing tool (you can use a thumbtack or paper piercer but I like the piercing bug from EK Success/ScorePal)
Grooved scoring board (optional)
Ruler
Black waterproof pen (Micron 03)
White Gel pen (optional, I like the uniball signo)
Ball end stylus (or something round like a bead or marble you can emboss with)
Bone folder/scoring tool
Post-it notes

I know what I'm making for my gma and her friends at the quilt shop for christmas!!! If you dont have a scoring tool like you used, but have a sewing machine, you could stitch the lines without it threaded
Such a pretty card. I like how you tell us "use what you have "
I just made this card after discovering you and admiring so many of your videos the past 18 months. I sure had fun making this sweet card, and the recipient I know is going to be thrilled. Thank you for all your wonderful videos, past and present. I have a lot of "crafting" to catch up on!
Aww, thank you!
This turned out so cute. Every video I've watched you do something different. Your craft room must be awesome. Thanks for all the inspiration and high energy.
I'm a quilter and that's so stinkin' cute! I love it!
This card is adorable. Simple and with few tools, I'm in! Thanks for sharing and have a great summer up in Maine. 💕💕💕
I just followed your tutorial and the results are great. Instead of using hot glue, I used decorative washi tape on the edges to adhere to card base. What a great idea! Thank you!
Totally cool. My mother in- law is a semester. This idea would make her a very awesome birthday card. The stamps and the color you have combined true looks like fabric. Great job. Thank for sharing such wonderfulness.
I really enjoy your tutorials using peg stamps. They are fun to use and the company is so nice to order from.
I love this technique. I purchased the different heads with different stitch lines years ago, with every intent on stitching on my cards. Best laid plans, are wasted. Great reason to pull them out.
Great project...and I like very much that you encourage people to use what they have (very frugal)...greetings from Germany
Love this idea Lindsay! Awesome idea. You are so creative!
Hi Lindsay ... four years after you posted this video ... I just made three adorable "quilted" cards! I love them and so did the recipients! Thank you once again for your great teaching videos and sharing your creativity. I'm always amazed by your many talents!!
I love this card! Can't wait to try this technique.
Wow, what a great card project! After doing all the stamping and coloring on my first card, which was so much fun and turned out so well, I made 11 more of them! I even decided to do real stitching with my sewing machine and white thread. Thank you for the clever idea!
my mom is a quilter and I plan on using this idea for her birthday card! Thank you so much for sharing!! 💜
I love that I can come back to some of your older tutorials I’ve just started quilting and this tutorial for a quilted card is fantastic!
What a beautiful card with dimension! Thanks for sharing Lindsay.
This has to be one of the most unique cards I have ever seen. Kudos!
I just finished trying this technique. What fun to design and still easy to accomplish. Thank you so much for the 'know-how'
Love this!!!! My friend and I recently went to the National Quilt Museum near me. She then found an old paper art piece that was tiny piercings and cuts that was framed in an antique store. It was different quilt patterns. It is gorgeous!!!! She sent it to me as a gift. I am going to make your card as a thank you for the gift. Thx so much.
I love, love, love this craft. Such a great teacher for someone like me who never did this before. Can't wait to try. Definitely a beautiful card. Thank you Lindsey.
I do like this card a lot...a bit time consuming but it's a great pay off!!! Very homespun...quilters would love these for thank you cards💞
Wow! So beautifully done. I love it and plan to make it for my grandma.
Thank you Lindsay for showing us how to make a card look like a quilt. i will try it and so will my mom
I really hope it turns out, excellent suggestions for quilters btw! I love both ideas, the template for picking fabrics and the matching quilt/card idea. brilliant!

if you don't have a piercing tool, use the tool for marking patterns. It has little "teeth" that might offer the same result.
That's so cool Lindsey, you come out with creatively things. Thank you for sharing......

Just a little head's up - having learned frugal crafting from our Lindsay I wanted to find a cheap substitute for the Judikins Color Dusters (no longer available) and the new Clarity brushes (expensive). I went to my dollar store and purchased Wet and Wild contour brushes. They work like a dream and for a dollar each I can get an many as I like. Happy frugal crafting to all of you!
Thanks for this tip! I love this card.
+FunctionofLight One thanks! Also harbor freight has boxes of 36 1" chip brushes for $9 that I think will work and cheap:)
LOVE this project! Thank you!

Hi Lindsay! Thanks for helping me make my Mom's Mother's Day card this year! I think it's the best card I've turned out yet and she's a quilter so I know she'll love it. Thanks again :)
Wonderful idea! The card is so cute. TFS
What an awesome video! So unique!
Very cute Lindsay!! Thanks for sharing!
Very unusual card and so nice ! Thank you, it is lovely !
Such an amazing card, thanks for sharing.
What fun, Lindsay. To begin with I was convinced you'd used some fun foam behind to make it puffy, how silly am I as that wouldn't have given the individual 'pillows' in each square. I really love this and am going to give it a try as I've got some really small clear stamps that I think I can use..until I get some wonderful peg stamps (I've got a few sets on my AmazonUK wish list lol).
Bejay xx
Wonderful video and I am totally going to try this one! Thanks for the discount, too!

Love the technique! TFS!!
This is fab Lindsay.... I totally plan on giving this a try!! Hugs! deb
I really enjoyed making this card, thanks
Hey Lindsey! My dads birthday was July 10th!! Happy Birthday!! I really love this card!! I love quilts and all the fabrics...but I don't sew!! But this...I can do!! I have several peg stamp sets and plenty of inks!! This is a quilt block I can make!! Thanks for sharing and the inspiration Lindsey!!
I think you could use a serrated tracing wheel and ruler to poke "sewing" holes in the ditch too. Daiso Japan carries them and I've seen them at the 99 Cent Store or Dollar Tree sometimes. Joanne's carries them in their sewing notions area.
Inking pads can be quite expensive. I have started to ink tin foil with permanent markers or watercolour pens and lift the ink with cosmetic sponges! I award myself officially as a frugal crafter under the influence of Lindsay. Perhaps you could do a tutorial on using the tinfoil affect, I am sure you will reward us with some stunning results. MERRY CHRISTMAS Lindsay and thank you for your inspiration. Looking forward to further inspiration in the new year!
great idea!
Just lovely!
This is a great technique!
Love this card. You are awesome.
Beautiful!
I'm definitely going to try this! although I do want to use a standard a-2 sized card (cheaper to mail). Thanks for your awesome videos!
+KaTrina Turner I pit this in a 5x7 envelope and it mailed with 1 stamp:)
My second time watching, love your color choices. I have some quilt dies from MFT that I am going to use for this, so much nicer than all the flat paper bits I have been die cutting.
I am going to try this! I think it would be cute to add white embroidery floss for a "tied quilt" look!!!
Happy Birthday, Lindsey -- my Mothers birthday is also JULY 10th, she will 89 years old.
+Kathryn Lucas happy birthday to your mom:)
