Love the weekly updates! No longer lay awake at night pondering "when is the next codestrap video". Excited for the upcoming content too. I'm a digital marketer who looks at data every day but doesn't operate on it. I need to engage cross functional teams to action changes I need to make (web page updates, adding data to dashboards, increasing/decreasing marketing spends, foreseeing upcoming trends, updating messaging etc). Seeing that Palantir is solving this problem, of operators actioning on data, any skills you recommend I develop in preparation for a Palantir future? I already see 2 competitors using the platform and want to ensure my skills are competitive for the job market. Thanks for the contributions to the community!
I am a long term investor and I have a 6 figure position in PLTR. I never sold a share. As an IT Specialist, you have an interesting perspective and great suggestions that could help Palantir grow. Do you believe Palantir views your videos and is aware of your suggestions ? Great content. Keep up the good work.
I remember watching your very first PLTR video wayyy back when they first went public...I was on fence to invest and researching YT vids.. even tho I didn't understand the technicals you explained I just knew it made sense... glad to see the evolution of the channel.. thanks for the info. I ended up investing when they DPO'ed... buying the dip currently.. have faith in Karp!
Someone once commented on my channel that you look like robin Williams. I disagreed at the time but when you open with “good morning palantards!” … I see it now. 😂
Great video CodeStrap. Any insight on why they haven't released an version of Foundry to the public yet? Why they aren't certify developers at conferences? Does this take awhile for them to set up? Thanks again
I'm not sure on why they haven't done this yet. My suspicion is that platform wasn't ready for general use until recently, and that they are very sensitive to the attack surface (security) and negative press. But that's speculative.
@@codestrap8031 That makes sense to me. Hopefully they can overcome that soon. Seems like they are making the right steps lately though. Just not at the speed we all would have liked
Workloads run on a variety of compute platforms. They support cloud virtualizarion like ec2, but also on prem systems and closed networks. Appllo is the deployment system for Foundry and encapsulates all the details about the deployment targets using agents created by Palantir. They do have their own compute engine for running spark jobs that would typically run on elastic map reduce. My understanding is it performs autoscaling and enforces ACID guarantees amongst other things. They also have their own serverless like compute engine that provisions custom functions as APIs much like AWS Lambda and API gateway, but with zero infrastructure as code.
hey codestrap, sean from investtolive does not agree with the free tier software, can you get him on to discuss this topic as its such an important issue? I would like to see you two debate this !
Not really interested in debating it. Its OK to have a different opinion. The market will eventually decide who was right. Right now Snow and DBX are experiencing massive growth while Palantir is decelerating the growth curve. That's a valuable data point IMO.
That's why Foundry was created. Foundry isn't a data warehouse. It's a complete OS for building data applications. To give you some idea of powerful these tools are, they built Skywise and HyperAuto using them. So I don't think this argument has any validity at all.
Currently certification is closed to Palantir customers. People who want to get started and prep for an eventual certification program thats public will appreciate the open source curriculum im putting together.
As a new student of software development, what should my roadmap look like going forward in order to build these data apps with Foundry in the future? (love your channel!)
It's a decade-long endeavor IMO. That said, maybe they don't need to build a Foundry-like platform to capture the commercial space. There are early signs that both Snow and DBX are looking to acquire companies that will allow them to at least look like a complete big data OS.
Question is are they too ahead that the market doesn't even know they need it yet and their competitors can take time to develop comparable solutions? I've stated this... palantir needs to go out and start making a case for their solution
Problem is Palantir had a lead and let it slip away it doesn’t matter how good ur product is if u can’t sell it and they thought they can rearrange the wheel and now snowflake has greater revenue than them and if Databricks goes public soon they’ll overtake them soon
I think this is interesting: "Snowflake to Acquire AI-Based Document Automation Provider Applica". "Companies from a range of industries use Applica to decode and automate even their most complex documents. Based on cutting-edge deep learning, it‘s the most powerful and comprehensive document automation solution available." What are the possibilities, if AI and deep learning is used to understand and read all possible data?
Its something AWS and Google have been working on. I always say never go head to head with Google, especially in the AI space. Theres a huge amount of unstructured data sitting in documents thay could be used to power business process automation, such as invoice processing. But its a tough nut to crack and you better know what you're getting yourself into.
Please keep this a weekly thing! :)
Its great to hear your thoughts, thank you!
You bet, I'm having fun making these
Ty mr strap
Big improvements in the certification program is huge for Palantir. Thank you for sharing!

I was missing you already. Love your videos, a lot of information ℹ️ 👍😊
Thanks for the information. It’s good to hear Palantir is communicating with you and I really hope they take your advice.

Yep, I work with their developer relations folks.
Thank you for spearheading the developer education effort! As an old hand at Data warehouse development I am excited to learn Foundry.

LOL! Your T-Shirt!
Hahaha, I was waiting for someone to notice
Love the intro! 😂 "Good morning Palantards!"
Ready for the certification process, thank you codestrap
I hope you are able to keep this up for a while. I look forward to these Coffee and Palantir videos.
Thank you for keep covering this company at the least popular time. We get no love right now until Palantir can keep deliver the growth they promised.
Love your T shirt! Great Video Thanks
Thanks Codestrap for putting together a Foundry Certification video. I'm looking forward to it.

@CodeStrap does palantir has its own computation engine, or does it rely on external systems like ec2, emr etc ?

Invaluable data! Really good content! Thanks man!
Thanks!
Great video love the weekend uploads so boring when the markets are closed
The voice of reason. Top-notch.
Thank you!
So where can we buy the shirts???
Hahaha, I dont monetize anything. But there's a bunch sites to make um. I encourage copyright infringement.

Think a lot would

Thanks for this! I appreciate you.
maybe they build SaaS applications because building the software on top of a datewarehouse is really slow :)

Palantard reporting for dooty!
Good stuff. Thanks man!
Codestrap can you push for these developer community, training, certification, seminars. We need this to be massive!!!!
Who will the certification program be available to if those who want certification don't have access to the platform?
Currently certification is closed to Palantir customers. People who want to get started and prep for an eventual certification program thats public will appreciate the open source curriculum im putting together.
People who have access to the platform can get certified. They don't offer the program to randoms like an Oracle cert yet.
@@codestrap8031 Who's to say they ever will? Like you said I'm still not convinced that they want mass adoption of Foundry.
love the shirt😂😂
As a new student of software development, what should my roadmap look like going forward in order to build these data apps with Foundry in the future? (love your channel!)
You should learn SQL, Spark, Python or Java. You also want to know TypeScript.
I will get certified in foundry and take PLTR to the promise land.
Wish I had IT knowledge would be interested in the certification.
IMO you don't need an IT background for some certifications.
In your opinion, How quickly can snowflake or Databrick can produce something like Foundry?
It's a decade-long endeavor IMO. That said, maybe they don't need to build a Foundry-like platform to capture the commercial space. There are early signs that both Snow and DBX are looking to acquire companies that will allow them to at least look like a complete big data OS.
I like your M.Ali example.

Good morning!
Love your shirt 😂
I’ll personally do that certification
No way I'm chasing SNOW at this level.
Problem is Palantir had a lead and let it slip away it doesn’t matter how good ur product is if u can’t sell it and they thought they can rearrange the wheel and now snowflake has greater revenue than them and if Databricks goes public soon they’ll overtake them soon
"Will Snowflake be worth more than Alphabet by 2030?" lol no
Pretty disappointing that Motley Fool would write titles like that also.
No fucking chance 😂😂😂

codestrap ... Please go sell Foundry, or at least train the sales team.
Snowflake will crush pltr, that is a foregone conclusion.
