15:55 - Tips for scoring highly
The reason we have the success we do is mainly down to two things:
    1. The method we teach (see further down for an explanation of how that works)
    2. Student selection - ensuring we are taking on the right kind of students. That is why we ask you to submit an application..
What separates us from the rest is down to 3 things:
    1. We are incredibly thorough - the first thing we do with the students that we accept onto the programme is sit down together to carry out a long **STRATEGY CALL**. This is where Dr Hilton will go through the entire application with you and dissect everything from; your grades; which medical school choices are the most tactical and likely to succeed for your situation; the key preparation steps we need to ensure succeed; making sure we have the right work experience (and arranging some if we don't); going through your personal statement; making sure we score highly in the UCAT, BMAT and/or GAMSAT; how we're going to perform well at interviews; EVERYTHING!
    2. We're highly individual - once we've laid out the plan for how we're going to get your into your dream medical school, we match you with a tutor from a similar background to you (Undergrad/Postgrad, International/Domestic etc...) who is from your first choice medical school. e.g. if you are an international graduate student applying to Oxford, we will pair you with an international graduate student currently at Oxford etc..
    3. We are extremely dedicated to doing whatever it takes to help you get in. When you join us, we make a commitment to giving you our absolute best to help you reach your goal.
    The Structure
Every month the minimum teaching you will get is four sessions per month. This equates to about a session per week. These include:
    - 1 ON 1 Sessions with your tutor.
    - Q&A Sessions with Dr Hilton: Ask me anything. This is your opportunity every month to check in with me, tell me what issues you're having and the chance to work through them together.
    - Cycle-dependent teaching: This is where we deliver the most important teaching you need, depending on the time of year (or stage of the application process) you're currently at.
    - Core knowledge teaching: Essential information that you NEED to know, regardless of what stage of the application you're at.

    Hi
    I am European student
For going to medical school BMAT is enough? I don’t need to have IELTS , TOEFL or other exams certificate?

Hi I only have about 3 weeks left and haven't started. On top of that due to covid I never sat my GCSE's so I'm afraid there is a lot I'll need to learn. DO you think 3 weeks of intense revision will be enough to do good? (I'm wanting to apply to Leeds for dentistry btw)

    • @conhinds
      @conhinds 2 года назад +4

I'm applying for leeds aswell. I've only done 2 weeks for revision but I'm trying to be very intense with revision. Leeds only give 5 points towards bmat score. So banding between best to worst applicants score. But then they have up to 50 points from gcse scores and AS scores aswell. So do your best but don't worry.

@Future Doc, I was wondering if the usage of the computer for the BMAT will continue past this year. So if we are expecting to sit the BMAT in 2022 then should we prepare for doing the test online? Thanks

You'll be taking the BMAT 18th October 2023. This is the last ever sitting of the BMAT, as they are scrapping this exam after that. If you want some help, we can always coach you through the process. 😊
